GOOD MORNING

Starting today with gentle plans. I’m in the hotel lobby, and I’m ready to go.

We are going to get a car and ride around the city for a little while, ending up at the Leeum Museum of Art. We’ll spend some time there, then return to the hotel to change for dinner. We haven’t settled on a location yet, so you’ll have to stick around to find out where!

At the museum, Jason and Josh will be working. The Leeum Museum of Art is one of the articles they are going to put together and try to sell. All museums that I know of have rules about photography, so we’ll have to work within those.

Next up for me is a light breakfast here at the hotel. Coffee? Of course.

I’ll be back in a few hours with my midday-in-Korea post, so watch for that!

See you then!

THE LEEUM MUSEUM

No flash! It's okay to take a selfie!

We are at the Leeum Museum of Art. It is an amazing place, and so far, we’ve barely seen anything.

The Leeum Museum of Art blends traditional Korean art with modern and contemporary works in one beautifully designed space. It opened in 2004 and is operated by the Samsung Foundation of Culture, with architecture by world-famous designers like Mario Botta, Jean Nouvel, and Rem Koolhaas.

You move from ancient ceramics and calligraphy into bold, thought-provoking installations that feel like stepping into the future. It’s not just a museum—it’s like walking through layers of Korea’s past, present, and future.

Jason and Josh are looking at it through a storytelling lens—how the building itself shapes the experience. They’re paying attention to how the architecture guides you emotionally, not just physically, and how the museum bridges heritage and innovation. Their piece is less “art review” and more about how space, light, and design quietly teach you how to feel your way through history.

As for me, I’m taking a different angle. I’m trying to connect with the head of facilities to write about the maintenance considerations of the museum. How do they keep it clean without risking damage to the exhibits? Are there any HVAC considerations? Dust? Floor wax?

I’m sure there are established, proven techniques, and I’m going to see about doing a few pages on that. If I can interview the person in charge!

So that’s what we’re doing. As I said, after this, we are going to change clothes and find some place for dinner. (Destination still undecided!)

See you soon.

GOOD NIGHT

Well, back home, it’s 6 a.m. Here, it’s 9 p.m. and we just wrapped up dinner at a place called the Spoonery. Honestly, it was one of those “discoveries” you hope for when you travel.

It’s a cozy, warmly-lit café-restaurant tucked into Itaewon, right near the station, with this understated vibe that makes you feel instantly at ease the minute you sit down. The menu mixes fresh, vibrant ingredients with both Western and Korean influences—think scrambled eggs with savory sides or a gochujang pork bulgogi panini that somehow tastes both familiar and new.

The décor is gentle and inviting, with plants and classic details that make conversation feel easy, and the staff were genuinely warm and attentive throughout our meal. What stood out most wasn’t just the food, but how unhurried and calm the whole experience felt in the middle of this bustling city. It was exactly the right way to spend our second evening in Seoul, full of good flavors and real hospitality.

From here, we’re going back to the hotel and calling it a night. Tomorrow, we’re splitting up to do different things. Jason and Josh have another article to write. Geoni is going with me and we’re going to do something independent of them. Clay and Sasha are going to do some sight-seeing on their own.

So for now, I’ll say good night to you all.

May you find ways to relax even in the midst of the bustle around you, and may you be restored—mind, body, and spirit.

Good Night.

FULL TANK! by Isaac Branch

Kaylee and me had a checkout to clean this morning, then we came home with the plan to go get some groceries. That got interrupted.

I was in the galley watching Hudson nap when she called from the bathroom, “Isaac! Help!”

She was almost laughing, so I didn’t worry. I got there, and she was standing in backed-up gray water, looking at me like she’d been scolded.

“I thought we did tanks just a couple of days ago,” I said. “I did the black water.”

She stuck out her lower lip. “I did one trolley of the gray. Hudson woke up fussy, and I forgot to tell you.”

Our camper has a 30-gallon black water tank and a 75-gallon gray water tank. The trolley carries 21 gallons. For some reason, the full gauge on the gray water tank won’t go higher than 50%, so we just try to keep up by how long it’s been.

I handed her a towel—not sure why—and said, “Okay, give me a few minutes. I’ll hook up the trolley and let you know when you can rinse your hair.”

“You’re the best! I mean it.”

I leaned over and kissed her. “Really, you are. We’re a good team, right?”

“Best ever,” she said.

Things like this happen. Little mistakes… We just correct them and keep going.

Be your best you!
