GOOD MORNING

Go with me on this… About this thing Sasha and her accomplice, Jasmine, have cooking for Saturday—I sort of feel like I’m blindly walking into something that’s supposed to be work, yet under the surface it has a surprise party vibe.

I checked in with her last night to see what I needed to do—her answer didn’t clear much up: “Bring your bag of tricks and some snacks. Jasmine is baking cookies. I’m making cute little sandwiches. You could get a vegetable and dip tray.”

Guess who’s taking the Honda to Walmart today?

So, Sherlock Holmes mode invoked, we’re going to the studio, so there must be some photography going on. Needing snacks implies that it will take some time. All hands on deck with Josh cheering us on? I’ll have to check with Watson on that one.

All I can say is that I’m bracing for some fun that will probably have a financial payoff for AGI Creative. And that’s a good thing, right?

STOCKING UP

Actually, not much going on here. Just shopping. But…there is something on my mind.

I’m also standing here holding this red bell pepper wondering something—not for the first time.

Why are there no blue foods?

Stop right there! While Gemini mentions some blue foods, I’ve got backup on this!

Shelley A. Rael, MS RDN, is a dedicated Registered Dietitian Nutritionist based in New Mexico, USA, and in her article, “The Truth About Blue Foods,” she makes my point!

Blueberries? Purple!

Blue corn? Grayish, purple-black!

Blue cheese? Um, that’s penicillin mold in any number of different cheeses!

By now, some of you are rolling your eyes, cracking your knuckles, and getting ready to launch in on a rebuttal. And that could be fun!

But since it's a semantic debate, I’m sticking with Shelley on this one!

GONNA MISS THEM by Kaylee Branch

Well, some good news from me and Isaac—we got some work today. I won’t be sorry to see the spring break crowds start showing up.

I was talking to Jasmine last night, and she said she would be gone for a few weeks starting Monday. Me, Isaac, her, and Micah are going to hang out some between now and then.

Of course, we’ll keep in touch while she’s gone. I made her promise to send lots of pictures.

Hudson’s sleeping in the living room while I do the kitchen, and Isaac works in the bedrooms and bathroom. He was awake, toddling around while we did the living room. Once we got that done, we settled him down on a little pallet.

Once we get done, we’ll send a message to Mr. Callahan and he’ll Venmo us the payment. We’re going to stop off at Blue Marlin Supermarket and pick up a few things to get us through to the next job.

It’s really nice that he pays us as we go. We feel really blessed to have these jobs.

Now, some of you might not think much of it, but what we have is nice compared to growing up. My family struggled. We rented a little duplex in San Benito. It wasn't much at all—two bedrooms, one bath, concrete floors, window AC units…

Me and Isaac’s camper is a lot nicer. It’s small, but like I say, look where we live! We can hear the ocean from our bedroom. It’s clean, dry, cool or warm, and safe.

We didn’t save enough last fall to get to spring break easily, but we made it. And we learned how to do things better for next time.

We think that’s pretty good.
