COUNTDOWN UNTIL by Cindi Curtis

Good morning! Today marks the beginning of the final stretch before the wedding.

If you’re counting with me, that means we’re now twelve days away from March 21. When the calendar finally turns to that day, Michael and I will stand in front of our families, our friends, and our church and make promises that will shape the rest of our lives.

That feels both exciting and humbling.

There are still little things to do, of course. Lists, plans, details. But this morning I’m sitting here in my office with a cup of coffee and realizing that the most important preparation probably isn’t on any checklist.

It’s in the heart.

When two people promise their lives to each other, they’re really promising something deeper than a shared address or a shared schedule. They’re promising faithfulness, patience, forgiveness, and encouragement through whatever the years bring.

That kind of commitment requires God at the center.

So as the countdown continues, today’s devotional thought is about building a life that rests on something stronger than our own plans.

Psalm 127:1 (NIV) says:

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.

That verse isn’t just about buildings. It’s about life itself.

We can organize everything perfectly. We can plan every detail. But if God isn’t the foundation, all of our effort eventually runs out of strength.

Marriage works the same way.

The goal isn’t simply to build a happy life together. The goal is to build a life that God is shaping—one where both people are growing, learning, and encouraging each other along the way.

That’s the kind of home I’m praying for as the countdown continues.

So today’s reminder is simple: invite God into the things you’re building. Your plans will be stronger for it.

Have a wonderful morning, and thank you for walking through this countdown with me.

Be blessed today.

Be your best you!

Thank-You Message to Paying Supporters:

Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet connectivity fees) AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month. Every supporter is helping!

I fully believe that most of you who help with the costs do so because you want to support the creative process and offer encouragement. I’m honored by that and genuinely moved.

I realize that I share a lot of content free to everyone. I imagine most of you understand why. The stories about giving back and helping others feel like they shouldn’t be locked behind a pay-wall, and some plot moments need to remain accessible for anyone following the larger narrative.

With that in mind, I always keep you—the paid members—in mind when deciding how to share things.

I hope that reserving a few photos and small sections of each post for you serves as a modest expression of my gratitude.

Again, thank you very, very much.
