TUESDAY AND COUNTING by Cindi Curtis

Let’s see… Today is Tuesday. The wedding is Saturday. Wow.

Looking at things differently, it’s Tuesday. I have two hours to finish my coffee, look at emails that came in overnight (more on that in a moment), shower, dress, and get ready for an 8:00 Mountain Time Teams meeting.

Also, Michael will be here in about an hour to start working in his now fully functional office space.

Yesterday ended with a setback on that project I’ve been working on, which I am definitely walking away from by the end of the day tomorrow. Let’s go back a few days to what I said early on…

My company has a client who had a guy—“had” being the operative word—who liked developing database structures but hated writing documentation. My company layered a GUI over his queries and data calls. He tweaked our systems to mesh with structures he never fully explained. Our client’s client wanted something slightly different, and that’s where I came in. I had to figure out how all of his tables worked.

I pulled it off and we delivered. Our client’s client was very happy. Our client was happy. And then…

Client’s client called the client: “Hey! Love it, but… what about…”

Metaphorically, they wanted to convert a 100-year-old skyscraper to 100% LED in one fell swoop. A big job. Fairly straightforward, but not trivial. My part is still back-end work. In the metaphor, I’m labeling all the boxes as to which floor they go on.

Something like that.

Did I mention I’m walking away from the project at the end of the day tomorrow? Thursday, Michael and my families arrive. I’ll mention that Michael and I had our first unresolvable disagreement over Thursday night. I was pushing for Coletta's. He was suggesting Central BBQ.

Naturally we decided to let Jordan make the decision.

Honestly, I think she should be awarded a medal of diplomacy. She didn’t pick either of our ideas. Neither of us won or lost.

Thank-You Message to Paying Supporters:

It is my belief that most of you who help with the costs are doing so because you want to support the production process and show your encouragement. I am honored and greatly moved.

I know that I share a LOT of content FREE TO ALL. I'd imagine that you understand why. The stories about giving back and helping seem like they shouldn't be exclusive. Certain plot moments need to be understood by anyone trying to to follow the stories.

With that in mind, I always consider you, the paid members, when deciding how to share content.

My hope is that reserving a few pictures and small sections of the post for you is a modest indication of gratitude!

Thank you very much for your help underwriting the cost of producing AGI Stories content. You can be sure that your paid membership is valued greatly! At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet connectivity fees) AGI Stories racks up expenses of just over $100 per month. Every supporter is helping!

Again, thank you very, very much.

TUESDAY AND COUNTING by Cindi Curtis. Good morning, Cindi. I love that you told Jordan to decide. And she was the perfect diplomat. Everybody I know has that debate and their preference. Of course, I prefer Corky's. My sister chooses Tops. And friends choose Central. Just an excuse to keep going to all of them. I wish you luck solving your database conundrum. I am sure you can do it. Thanks for your update and have a great day. Oh yeah, Saturday!
