I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU by Jordan Warner
At some point, I took a journalism class. Let’s see if I can channel that right now…
At noon today, friends and family of Cindi Diane Curtis and Michael Wayne Allen witnessed their union in holy matrimony. The wedding followed a year in which the couple grew steadily closer, maturing both in their relationship with each other and in their commitment to God.
Events leading up to the ceremony began about an hour earlier, with friends of the bride and the groom’s sister posing for a photo. The bride’s white gown served as the model for the cream dresses worn by the other women in attendance.
The near-matching dresses were the idea of Jordan Warner and Elaine Curtis, a friend and the bride’s mother. The coordination allowed the bride to stand out—but not so much that focused attention would trigger a panic episode.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., attendees gathered in one of two hallways leading into the prayer room of a Memphis church. As processional music played, the parents of the bride and groom led the entrance. The minister followed with the bride.
Those in attendance formed a circle around the minister, who faced the couple. The unconventional formation allowed the bride and groom to remain clearly visible while reducing the bride’s sense of being isolated at the center of attention.
“I will feel better not standing on a stage like I’m performing,” Cindi said. “I’ll feel like everyone is supporting me, not staring at me.”
After the ceremony, Cindi said her anxiety levels were elevated, though she assumed that was normal for the occasion. Attendees noted nothing out of the ordinary.
In attendance were friends and family: Michael Allen, Cindi Curtis Allen, Mark Allen, Susan Allen, Ray Curtis, Elaine Curtis, Roman Lenox, Hayes Markel, Carter Ellis, Jordan Warner, James Allen, and Rachel Allen.
The couple departed following the ceremony and will honeymoon in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

THIS IS IT by Cindi Curtis Allen
A quick recap: Today, Michael and I were married. Tonight, we are in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
As happy as we have been over the recent months, we are even happier now.
It feels like today was a giant step out of what has been and a long stride into what will be.
Be your best you!
