GOOD MORNING
Hope you’ve had your coffee. I’ve got an issue, and I need you to be wide awake! I have a question for you all.
If a daughter went to where her father works, grabbed some girl falsely accusing him of being inappropriate, dragged her out of the office and threw her into the Laguna Madre, would the daughter get in trouble? Asking for a friend…
I’m pretty upset for Dad. I just happened to call him last night and he told me about the encounter with the receptionist—who doesn’t want to be called a receptionist. Obviously, I can’t go onto Coast Guard Station property. And honestly, I wouldn’t.
I don’t know what will come of this, but I’m livid. I know people would say maybe you only think you know your father, and he’s different. There’s literally zero evidence to suggest anything she might have said could possibly be true.
In fact, many times he’s rebuffed my mild suggestion that he should think about finding someone to spend time with. I won’t get into his reasons why, but they make sense to him.
So, I’m hoping to hear from him soon about what happened after he reported her.
When Sasha found out what happened—I should add—she wasn’t very happy, either. “If you need backup for any really bad ideas, I’m in! And if this escalates, we probably can pool resources and hire a team of lawyers. That part’s not a joke.”
So, for now, we’re sort of waiting to find out what happened.
And in the meantime, we’re sailing home. We’ll be there mid-morning tomorrow.
I’ll be back later with another post, so see you then.

AFTERMATH by Allen Geven
As you can see, I’m at work again today. I didn’t get fired.
Yesterday, I told you about a conversation with the receptionist in the headquarters office. I didn’t tell her name and I’m not going to today. That doesn’t seem helpful or necessary.
I went to the XPO I report to, Chief Petty Officer Marcus Hale, as soon as he got in the building and told him everything that had taken place. He seemed very frustrated.
“Honestly,” I said, “I don’t stare at her or anything. I just try to be polite when I come and go.”
“Mr. Geven,” he said (he’s half my age and insists on using “Mr.”), “I have no doubt you’re in the clear. This isn’t her first rodeo with HR. She accused the coxswain on one of the RB-Ss of stalking her. You’re the second person to report her.”
“Oh… Okay…” I was sad for her, relieved for myself—and surprised all at the same time.
“I hate to say it… I’ll deny that I did… but she’s delusional or something.”
I nodded. “I hate to say this, too, but I’m glad I’m not the only one she’s… whatever it is she’s doing.”
CPO Hale nodded. “You’ve got nothing to worry about. I’ll make a report to HR and if they need more from you, I’ll let you know.”
So, this ended well for me, I suppose. Still, I’d rather it hadn’t happened.
I’m left wondering about it all. Something’s failing in society when basic courtesy and polite behavior get construed as being inappropriate.
I have no idea what has gone on in her life that would cause her to react to simple politeness that way.
And maybe that’s the point. We don’t know what others are carrying around. And we don’t know how their past can spill onto us.
I guess I’ll keep being nice, but aware that not everyone will see it the same way.
SUN FUN
Good news from Dad, so I have relaxed. I’m spending some time on deck soaking up the last day of life at sea.
I told the others what Dad told me when I called earlier. Jasmine made a comment that gave me a different point of view.
“I always feel sorry for people who have to suffer through their issues and who make their lives harder.”
“What do you mean?” Sasha asked.
“Clearly, she’s got some sort of problem,” Jasmine replied. “If Mr. Geven was the fourth incident, something’s not right.”
I’m just letting that have space in my mind. I’m still not happy about what happened, and wanting to protect Dad makes it hard for me to see things any differently. But I admire what Jasmine said.
Looking ahead for us means looking south. We’re making good time, and Clay’s planning for us to stop for lunch. That means we don’t have to keep someone at the helm and we can all relax in the saloon as Savannah’s Charm sits at anchor.
After lunch, I’ll probably shower and spend some time working on notes and ideas. I’ve got a request for a ghostwriting job that sort of excites me. A new project is always fun to be part of.
So that’s it for me. Hope you’re having a great day. See you tonight.
GOOD NIGHT
Good evening, everyone. I’m going to be totally honest about tonight’s pictures.
For some reason, almost every image I’ve posted from the sun lounge or aft lounge at night has been very, very popular with the Instagram algorithm. Not like a little more popular—like five to ten times more popular.
If you know me, I don’t usually chase the algorithm. I try to tell good stories and back them up with interesting images. But, since this is a great place to say goodnight and it also seems to be very popular, I decided to sit here one more time.
And when I say “one more time” I mean for this voyage. By midday tomorrow, we’ll be home. I think it has been a great trip, but I’m also looking forward to being home.
The days ahead will see the gang getting a lot of work done. We have collected notes and pictures for the last three weeks.
I am also looking forward to time on the beach. Swimming off the yacht is great, but it’s different. And if you know me, you know that the sounds of the waves and the feel of the sand are part of what I love about beaches.
The wind is different on a beach—I don’t know how, but it is. The power of the surf is revealed with each wave as it rolls onto the beach for as far as the eye can see.
It all adds up to something I love.
And as far as Dad goes… I remember as a little girl that he’d take me to Indiana Dunes and we’d walk along the beaches of Lake Michigan. He didn’t have lots of free time and money was always tight, but we could pack a lunch and go spend a day.
Even into my teen years, it was something we did together. Notably, a few days after my Sweet 16 birthday…
So, I sit here at the end of the day looking ahead to being home. To walking the streets of South Padre Island and standing on its beaches… and I look forward to sharing all that with you.
May you remember things in your world that mean more in sum than in part, things that add joy to your life and ground you.
Good night.
Be your best you!

Message to Paying Supporters:
With the sailing trip coming to an end, I'd like some feedback fro you on how you liked it. I have a couple of questions…
Was there anything in particular you found yourself looking forward to?
How did you like the informational posts? Too much information? Not enough? Did you like them overall?
Trying to be true to the yacht's design, there really are only so many places for images. Do you have any thoughts about the images from aboard?
Do you have any other ideas or suggestions you'd like me to hear for next time?
I truly appreciate your input, so feel free, one and all, to share your thoughts.
And as always…
Thank-You:
Thank you for helping support AGI Stories. At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet costs), expenses run just over $100 per month—so every supporter truly makes a difference.
As you know, I share a lot of content free to all, and I believe you understand why. Stories about giving back and helping shouldn’t be exclusive, and key moments need to be accessible for anyone following the stories.
With that in mind, I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.
My hope is that reserving a few photos and small portions of posts for you serves as a simple expression of gratitude.
I believe that most of you who help with the costs do so because you want to support the production process and show encouragement. I’m honored and truly grateful.
Again, thank you very much.
