FEELS LIKE LIFE by Cindi Curtis Allen—Little by little, I feel like a new version of life is unfolding around me. Not a different life. Just a—I’ll say—a better version of the life I had before.

Being married to Michael, of course, has added a whole new dimension to my life. But even that is starting to feel like an addition to who I was—not a change.

That mindset has brought me to the sofa this morning with my Bible to start the day with a personal devotional. Michael, too, is taking a few quiet minutes to center himself. If I look back to my posts from a year ago, so many of them reflected this important value.

But today, a new element will be added. Michael and I will converge over coffee and (today) muffins to share what we studied and our thoughts. It’s a new—and I’ll say again—better version of how things used to be.

I’d like to close with a passage about Easter before heading to the kitchen to be with Michael, so here you go.

LUKE 24—1 But on the first day of the week…

13 Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem. 14 They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened. 15 While they talked and questioned together, Jesus himself came near, and went with them.

19 [They said to him, haven’t you heard the] things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people; 20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him. 21 …and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened. 22 Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb; 23 and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
