JUST REALIZED by Cindi Curtis Allen

I just realized something about fifteen minutes ago. I’m sure most girls knew this long before they were my age and married.

Here’s the backstory.

I was getting ready for today. My blouse was on and I was doing my final touches to hair and makeup.

Michael got out of the shower. “Ready for coffee?”

“Sure.”

“Do you post and I’ll make you a cup.”

Then it happened.

On my way from the bathroom to here, I passed the clean laundry basket, atop which were these shorts.

Which are Michael’s. On a lark I put them on. They more or less fit—loose, but wearable.

Epiphany. My brain made a quantum leap, realizing all at once something that is a game-changer.

I can wear Michael’s clothes. Not his pants or suits, obviously, but shorts? Mostly. Shirts? Hmm…

I told him I could put on some leggings and one of his shirts, roll up the sleeves, and make a fashion statement. I’m not sure it would be stylish. But I could do it.

T-shirts? Yes.

Hoodies? Also yes.

I’m thinking all the way back to high school when girls would show up in their boyfriends’ jackets and T-shirts. Even I—I had a boyfriend for a short time—wore his jacket sometimes.

I’d forgotten those memories.

Until just now.

So, yeah, that happened. I felt like it would be fun to talk about it, so whatever important topic I was going to come up with can reveal itself another time. This made me smile, and I hope it makes you smile, too.

I do want to end with at least a Bible quote for the day.

Be cheerful, out there. No one wants their bones dried up!

As for me, I’m scheming about wearing Michael’s shirts! And he’s smiling about it, too.
