Happy Saturday to you all. I think you’ll enjoy spending today with me. Here’s the plan.
When Jason and I got back to the condos last night, Clay and Sasha were sitting outside enjoying the evening. Seeing us approach, they waved and greeted us.
“What are you guys doing tomorrow?” Clay asked.
I said I had some writing work to do and Jason said he was fairly open, but was planning on working on his stock photo catalog.
“The mechanic at the marina called,” Clay explained. “I had him de-winterize Imagine What, and he says it’s ready for its season opener. You guys want to take a ride tomorrow?”
We said we’d love to do that. Jason told Clay he’d like to talk about navigation and general boat stuff in advance of the honeymoon, which we’re going to spend aboard a rented cabin cruiser for a few nights. So whatever work I had for today will be split between before and after the boat ride.
I suppose that’s enough of a look ahead for now. I’ll go from here to the kitchen for coffee, then get my laptop set up and work for a while.
I’ll check in later from Imagine What, so see you then!

CRUISING
Clay is driving and talking to Jason about boat-handling subtleties to help him plan ahead for the honeymoon. Sasha and I are in the bow lounge. We are lounging.
When we first puttered out of the marina, Imagine What was giving off a little smoke. Clay said it was just some of the winterizing lubricants and that nothing was wrong. By the time we were up to speed, everything was humming along nicely.
Imagine What is a 29-foot single-engine bowrider. The honeymoon rental is a 40-foot twin-engine cabin cruiser with an enclosed helm as well as a flying bridge. There are a few similarities—mostly when out of the marina and steering forward at speed.
Jason and I have both helmed Savannah’s Charm under sail and engine power, so we aren’t freaking out about the cabin cruiser. The twin engines make a lot of the close maneuvering relatively easy, so we’re pretty sure we’ll be fine. Our honeymoon cruise will be mostly open water up the coast and then back home a few nights later.
Today’s test run, if you want to call it that, has been fun, and Imagine What has performed perfectly. We’re hoping to make use of it frequently in the summer months ahead and well into the fall. Keep your eyes open for that!
Meanwhile, we need to get back and get on with the day. There are a few more things that we’ll try to do today before the trip to St. Louis. I also need to do some of my writing work, but I’ll check back in tonight, of course.
See you then.
NO BRAINER? by Kaylee Branch
I’m just about done with this kitchen, and my thoughts have drifted a little. The AGI Group has a big photography job in St. Louis coming up, and I’m going.
When Jasmine called the first time, I said I shouldn’t go. Modeling isn’t steady and the cleaning jobs are. We talked about it and she insisted I not say “no” too fast.
Then, Ailana Geven called me yesterday. “I really think you should reconsider. Once you get a few shoots done, Naomi can be confident about booking you. It could become a lot more regular.”
She went on to tell me that AGI was getting more and more work, too. “You’re part of our team now. There will be more and more as time goes on.”
I mentioned that for now, we need to keep our cleaning business. She sort of went mentor-mode on me and brainstormed how to do both in the months to come. We talked about what I thought were problems…
I don’t have a suitcase…
Isaac would have a hard time working and taking care of Hudson by himself…
I’ve never flown before…
She didn’t think they were problems. “If you want to do this, we can work it out. Bring Hudson with you. Easy… or not easy, but possible. I have a couple of suitcases you can have. Everyone who flies has a first flight.”
Then she reminded me it would pay $500 a day for this job—Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Counting our expenses and time for travel, unloading, and loading, Isaac and me make about $50 an hour on our cleaning business.
The trip to St. Louis would mean leaving Monday and getting back Thursday night. Those are the slowest days for check-outs, but we have a couple of jobs lined up each day.
I guess they really do want me on this job in St. Louis because Micah told Isaac he’d help him finish up each night after he gets back from the factory. That makes me feel better.
Isaac and me talked about it and decided I should go. Actually, he admitted he was a little confused when I told Jasmine I probably couldn’t go. So, wow…
After this job, I’m going over to meet Ailana and pick out suitcases for this trip. And any future trips that come up.
GOOD NIGHT
Saturday ends with Jason, Jasmine, Micah, and me walking along passing some time. It has been a good day, all things considered.
As we walked along, Jasmine told me she was happy I had talked Kaylee into modeling with us in St. Louis. “Don’t get this wrong, but the base rate is a lot to her. And to me, too, for that matter.”
“It’s a good day’s work for anyone,” I replied. “You probably know that, at your age, I’d never seen money like I was making modeling. The base rate changed my life.”
I didn’t go into the mistakes that much money had led me into. I’ve said before, it wasn’t bad stuff, really. But I took jobs I’d walk away from now. I also wouldn’t say it, but some of those mistakes were partly to blame for the years Jason and I walked different paths.
“Well,” Jasmine replied, “you’ve done pretty good, right?”
“There were stretches where I worked six or seven days per week. It was hard, but I was able to save a lot of money.”
“Well,” Jasmine added, “Kaylee and I wouldn’t mind more modeling. It’s fun on top of the pay.”
Right now, as you know, AGI Creative Group isn’t doing photography work full-time. It’s growing, but there aren’t enough modeling jobs right now. I understand Jasmine’s point, and I’m going to let that cook before I come to any conclusions.
Meanwhile, Jason handed Micah the camera. “You two work it out and see what you come up with.”
They got busy and figured out how they wanted to set it up. Then Jasmine directed me through poses as they took turns snapping photos.
I was reminded of when Geoni started feeling comfortable with the camera nearly two years ago. It was mid-July, 2024 when we were in Cairo. It was her first trip with Sasha and me, and little by little after that, she fell in love with photography.
I can see Jasmine and Micah repeating that process.
May you discover new passions that add meaning and joy to your life, and skills that you can use to add meaning to your life.
Good night.
PITY PARTY? by Sofia Torres
It’s Saturday night, and I’m home after a day of being alone. Aside from a lazy trip to the store, I’ve been home all day.
Since coming here last August, I’ve not really had anything like a social life besides Mass on Sundays. Before I got hired by Micah to manage production at the SwimFit factory, I worked at a Dollar General store. I put in a lot of hours just to stay afloat and be able to send my parents a little each payday.
Since starting at the factory, I’ve really been happy to have weekends off for myself. I’ve kept up with my laundry, relaxed, and cleaned things that have been put off far too long. But tonight, I have kind of come to the point where the peace and quiet are becoming boring.
I suppose sitting here having a pity party would be an option. I’m not going to do that. I’m going to remind myself of all the things I have to be grateful for, then go to bed and get another good night of sleep.
The week to come will be telling as Southeast Texas Apparel moves forward with new patterns and new production goals. I want to be at my best to see everything done right.
Be your best you!

Message to Paying Supporters:
Thank you for helping support AGI Stories.
I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.
I believe that most of you who help with the costs do so because you want to support the production process and show encouragement. I’m honored and truly grateful.
At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet costs), expenses run just over $100 per month—so every supporter truly makes a difference.
Nevertheless, I share a lot of content free to all. I believe you understand why. Stories about giving back and helping shouldn’t be exclusive, and key moments need to be accessible for anyone following the stories.
My hope is that sharing a few exclusive photos and small portions of some posts with you serves as a simple expression of gratitude.
With that in mind, again, thank you very much.
