GOOD MORNING
Happy Wednesday! Yes, I am on the beach. No, I’m not sorry!
I want to start today’s Journal by letting you know about something I’ve decided needs to happen—should have happened a while ago.
Early in 2024, I released a series of seminal posts I called “Growing Up Ailana” in which I went back to birth and explained key moments in my life that I believe made me who I am. It was in the creation of those chapters that I reconnected with Jason, which led to everything that’s happened over the last 14 months.
In that time, more than one of you has asked to know more about Jason. Beyond what was revealed in “Growing Up Ailana,” what was his life like?
Starting today, and as time permits, you can watch for “Growing Up Jason” chapters that will fill in some of the details. A few of his chapters will be the same as mine, of course.
On Patreon, the chapters will be assembled into a collection, just like mine are. That will make it easy to find them.
I’ll let Jason pick up from here.
Today, I’m planning on hunkering down and working. And I’m sure most of you are doing the same thing.
Let’s make today amazing! See you soon.

HUNKERED DOWN
If it looks like I’m working, then I’m doing it right! I hope this post finds you well and content.
Some of you are about to go home for the day. Others of you are thinking about lunch, perhaps. Whatever your situation, I hope you are enjoying the day.
From time to time, I stop and realize that people reading my posts are spread around the world. For some of you, my midday is your middle-of-the-night. Some of you would say it is still your morning.
If the internet has done anything, I believe it has allowed people of diverse backgrounds and vastly different situations to meet. I am and always have been amazed by that!
So, maybe that can be the midday thought… At the speed of the internet, we can communicate and have friendships with people almost anywhere.
I’d argue that at the end of the day and at the most fundamental level, most of us have more in common than not. Let’s let that thought just simmer for a while!
Call this my wish for unity, understanding, and appreciation for all of humanity…

Jason's introduction to a series of how he grew up is also posted separately. This first chapter will be in both this collection and a new collection called "Growing Up Jason." Obviously, Jason's story will include some of the chapters from Ailana's backstory.
I really hope you enjoy learning about how he grew and and became the man he is today.
GROWING UP JASON ~ Introduction by Jason Keller
I believe the metaphor for life as a journey is solid. When traveling, where you are is obviously directly connected to where you have been. You got to where you are from somewhere.
Life is like that, too. You are where you are based on where you once were and the decisions you made at that point. Sometimes, you take a path for a long distance before you realize you wish you were somewhere else.
Changing course could be as easy as—metaphorically—making a turn and going a different direction. Or it could mean turning around, getting on some side road, and then cutting across unplanned paths in order to get where you wished to be.
I thought it would be an interesting exercise to talk about the course my life has taken—the roads, side roads, missed turns, backtracks, and detours I followed on my way to where I am now. How did Jason Keller become the man he is?
As I stand here a few weeks away from my wedding to Ailana, looking back seems fitting. I hope you will enjoy the glimpses into the things that shaped me into who I am.
As Ailana did in her “Growing Up Ailana” series, I’ll try to share the most significant defining moments of my life. Some of hers and mine will be the same, of course. But my goal in this collection of anecdotes is to let you better see how I became who I am.
Thank you in advance for letting me share my life with you.
FIRST CALL by Isaac Branch
I’ve had a lot on my mind for a few days, but I think it’s all good. Here’s what’s up.
You probably remember Micah sort of pushed me to think about things down the road a few years. Me and Kaylee are doing great right now, but he pointed out Hudson is going to grow up and life keeps moving. I realized being grateful for what we have now is one thing. But being ready to handle changes in the future is another thing. Another way to say it is that Kaylee and I need to start looking further ahead than next month’s rent and buying diapers.
So, I called Allen Geven and asked him to meet me to hear me out about an idea. He agreed, and we met at one of the properties where he had to do a walkthrough.
“I’ve got an idea,” I said, then I explained all that led me to call him.
“I’d say you’re thinking in the right direction,” he said.
“Well, here’s my idea. I want to start a proper business called First Call Property Services. It would be cleaning like now, but I want to talk to Mr. Calahan about doing the small repairs officially. I’d tell him to call me first, and I wouldn’t bill him at all if I have to pass the job on to a more experienced crew. But First Call would also do jobs for anyone that called. Like a homeowner who had a busted pipe and needed a big cleanup.”
“Okay,” Allen said, “you’re on to something, I think.”
“First Call would offer cleaning, repairs, and maintenance. Mr. Callahan would have priority, but jobs could come from anywhere.”
Allen nodded, then said, “So what’s your next step?”
Then I got to the reason I called him. “I don’t know how to set up a business, and I need a lot of training on the repair work. I want you to be part of the company. You’d be the boss and I’d do the work. You’d teach me the things I need to know how to do better. Like the glue in the screw holes on the cabinet hinge… things like that…”
“Hmm…” He just stood there, quiet, and I figured he wasn’t interested. “I don’t know how to start a business, either. But I know a couple of guys that do.”
GOOD NIGHT
You guys who call out all of the unexpected twists have something to talk about again! Not me. Not Jason. This time, it’s Dad!
If you missed the previous post, you might want to go back! Isaac Branch, Kaylee’s husband, has invited Dad to help start a business. First Call Property Services would do cleaning, maintenance, and repairs for property owners—apartment and condo complexes, rental companies, and individual owners.
Need your fence repaired? First Call should be your first call! Want your rugs shampooed? First Call should be your first call! For any cleaning, maintenance, and repair needs, First Call should be your first call!
Now, look at me! I’m writing an ad campaign!
Dad called Josh and Clay, and along with Isaac, they sat down and started planning things out. Isaac and Kaylee have already been doing cleaning work for Dave Callahan, so they are starting off with an existing customer base that is sufficient for their needs. Nothing about that changes, but they are looking to grow into other areas and for other customers.
Dad is pretty excited about it. He’ll keep his job at the Coast Guard station and keep doing walkthroughs for Mr. Callahan—no changes. But he’ll mentor Isaac and jump in on other jobs as needed.
All in all, I think this is a win situation. Dave Callahan keeps what he has. Isaac and Dad have a chance to add income. Isaac and Kaylee (when she’s not modeling!) can have work lined up between cleaning jobs when check-outs are light.
Josh and Clay both agreed to help set it all up. They know the process and should be able to get First Call Property Services, LLC, set up quickly.
So there you go! Another unpredicted turn of events. But with so many friends to keep up with, I guess something is always happening, right?
Let’s call it a day…
May you have time to pause, look at your life, see where you are in light of where you wish to be, then may you have the wisdom to chart a course that leads you to your dreams.
Good night.
Be your best you!

Message to Paying Supporters:
Thank you for helping support AGI Stories.
I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.
I believe that most of you who help with the costs do so because you want to support the production process and show encouragement. I’m honored and truly grateful.
At the time of this post (not counting hardware or internet costs), expenses run just over $100 per month—so every supporter truly makes a difference.
Nevertheless, I share a lot of content free to all. I believe you understand why. Stories about giving back and helping shouldn’t be exclusive, and key moments need to be accessible for anyone following the stories.
My hope is that sharing a few exclusive photos and small portions of some posts with you serves as a simple expression of gratitude.
With that in mind, again, thank you very much.
