GOOD MORNING by Ailana Geven Keller
I’m starting the week with a full agenda through lunch Thursday and with some appointments penciled in for the rest of Thursday and Friday.
This feels like real life, if you ask me. And you know what? I like it.
Merritt and I are not ignoring the conversations with Will about our potential to become partners in the years to come. We’re embracing it, working harder, taking on more, and finding it satisfying.
Will has noticed, too. He’s commented that we’re doing things the right way. There’s no contract. Not even a handshake promise. But he described what a future partner would look like, and we understood what he was really offering us.
Not a guarantee.
A direction.
Five years? Eight? Maybe longer? We don’t know. But we can start the climb now.
We need to meet the requirements to obtain our professional licenses first. That means finishing the required experience hours, documenting the right kinds of work, passing the necessary exams, and proving we are ready to take responsibility for decisions that affect real projects and real people.
There is no shortcut around that part. Will can give us opportunities, guidance, and a path forward, but we still have to earn the credentials. In a way, I like that. It means the next step is clear: keep learning, keep working, and become qualified for the future we say we want.
Merritt summed up what we plan to do this way: “Success isn’t showing up and hitting a grand slam in the first game of the season your rookie year. Success is showing up and getting a couple of base hits in every game of every season. An occasional grand slam is nice, too.”
I think he’s right.
So we’re starting the week, getting up to speed, and keeping a pace that we can sustain for years to come. That’s our plan for success and a happy life together.

Message to Paying Supporters:
Thank you for helping support AGI Stories.
I always consider you—the paid members—when deciding how content is shared.
I cannot say how much your support helps. Each of your contributions adds up and helps defray the cost of producing content. As of now, between donations here and Instagram monetization, most of the software costs are covered. Not quite all of them, but most…
Because of your generosity, I am able to keep going.
With that in mind, again, thank you very much.
