GOOD MORNING by Ailana Geven Keller
Let’s see… I’m in a motel—the Monterey Motel in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to be exact. I have options for the good-morning picture: (1) Bedroom. (2) Bathroom. (3) Wait until later.
Moving on…
Somewhere between doing the images in the desert last night and dinner, Jasmine called Naomi, and it went something like this:
Jasmine: We’ll be in Oklahoma City on Monday by midday. Send us some work.
Naomi: Okay. Tentatively for Tuesday, if I can get a wardrobe packed and shipped to you.
So, the working plan is to go to church here in Albuquerque today, then travel to Amarillo, stopping to take pictures and write notes for content. On Monday, we’ll make a leisurely trip to Oklahoma City, then work there on Tuesday.
We’ll continue on our odyssey on Wednesday.
Right now, I need to finish getting ready. We’re all meeting for breakfast. Then we’ll make our way to a local church together.
In the meantime, I hope you have a great Sunday morning. See you soon!

Message from AGI-Stories…
Just a little moment of transparency… As of now, I have over four hours invested in getting this journal entry put together. I still have to finish this post, then schedule it on X and Instagram, so add another 30 minutes. This is why your comments, ideas, support, and encouragement mean so much. Seeing your likes and comments lets me know I'm not singing into an empty auditorium. When you engage with the content, it motivates me!
I have had a lot of extra time in June, and some of the storylines needed that! I've shuffled a lot of things around and have some—what I think are—great things going on.
The journal is a live with characters now! By the end of July, once all the pieces are on the board, there will be thirty-eight people living in and around South Padre Island sharing their lives with Ailana and each other.
I hope you are enjoying the growth as much as I am!
Thanks again for your support and encouragement.
Be your best you!

REALIGNMENT by Ailana Geven Keller
We are visiting Albuquerque Christian Church this morning. I believe that starting Sundays with church feels like a needed reset. We set aside the time to worship and realign our thinking with higher purposes.
It’s easy to let the immediate demands of our busy lives distract us from the long-term purposes we’ve chosen to pursue. For those for whom faith is important, regular time in church offers a chance to make sure everything is still aligned.
From here, we’ll change clothes, have lunch, and get back on the road.
Historic Route 66 followed several official alignments over the years. As I said when I started out, we’re trying to follow it in spirit. East of here, much of the old alignment was replaced by I-40, although some historic sections remain.
That might dilute some of the romance connected with the Mother Road, but from the standpoint of interstate commerce, safety, and convenience, the decision made sense. Route 66 was officially decommissioned in 1985.
No one asked me, and I’m not in charge, but I think I would have kept the Route 66 designation alongside the newer highway numbers. Many roadways carry multiple route numbers. I’ve seen stretches of highway with both an east-west route number and a north-south route number!
Like I said, no one asked me.
So, with that, I’ll wrap up this check-in.As always, I appreciate you taking the time to read, and I love seeing your comments.
I’ll be back later, so see you then.
TRAVEL AND SCHOOL by Ailana Geven Keller
We stopped at Clines Corners to stretch our legs, but we got a paradigm stretch along with it.
Route 66 officially came to life in 1926, pieced together from older roads so people, goods and produce could travel between Chicago and California.
Here in New Mexico, though, the Mother Road did not always follow the path we know today. The original route curved north through Santa Fe before the Santa Fe Cutoff shortened the trip in 1937.
That is what made Clines Corners matter. Roy Cline opened a filling station and café at the intersection of two state highways here in 1934, in the middle of a whole lot of open country. When Route 66 was realigned through Clines Corners in 1937, this became a natural place to stop, fill the tank, eat something and breathe before heading back into the miles.
It was while we were here that we had another major shift in our thinking.
We were all standing around the RV and the Highlander, and Geoni said, “Kel, how do you like traveling this way?”
“It’s great,” he replied. “I’m learning some stuff and having fun.”
“Going forward, we’ll have to plan around the school calendar,” Josh said.
Kel nodded. Emily shook her head.
“So,” she said, “about that… Last summer, when you were at Lake Superior, I had an idea.”
Everyone stopped and listened.
Micah made a prediction. “Problem solved, moving on…”
Emily smiled. “We could enroll in UT High School. It’s a real school. It’s been around for more than 25 years. UT Austin runs it.”
Micah repeated his prediction as his response. “Problem solved, moving on…”
The actual decision was to check out the program. But I have a feeling it will work out essentially as Emily expects.
Jason sort of summed up what some of us were thinking while playfully teasing her. “Emily, if you want… you can make a list of all the problems you’ve already solved. Save us some worry and all…”
She smiled. “I just didn’t want to ruin your lives if I actually got to live with you…”
I hugged her again. “You haven’t. And you won’t!”
GOOD NIGHT by Ailana Geven Keller
How could we come to Amarillo, Texas, and not visit Cadillac Ranch? I mean… I suppose…
See, these people… They planted Cadillacs in the field alongside the road…
Cadillac Ranch, just west of Amarillo, Texas, is one of the quirkiest must-see attractions associated with Route 66. The Ant Farm art collective created it in 1974, burying ten vintage Cadillacs nose-first in the ground at the same angle as the sides of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
What really sets this place apart is its interactive nature. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own spray paint and leave a unique mark on the old metal. As a result, the cars’ appearance constantly changes beneath new layers of graffiti! It’s like a giant, ever-changing community art project in the middle of a West Texas field.
My thoughts? Okay, if you’re ever cruising down I-40 and need to stretch your legs, it’s definitely worth stopping, grabbing a can of paint, and adding your own splash of color to the Texas Panhandle.
We’ll be here in Amarillo tonight and until after breakfast tomorrow, then onward. The Oklahoma City modeling session is a go. Sasha says she’s good for modeling as long as nothing is tight around the waist—baby on board and all that! That gives us four models to work with and three photographers.
Some of you might ask about Emily modeling… We’re going to hold off on that for now. We have a final review hearing in about six weeks. On June 12, the judge wrote, “If the facts remain substantially as presented today, the Court anticipates moving this case toward final conservatorship orders.” Between now and then, we don’t want to complicate matters.
As for Kel taking some photos, we’ll most likely make that happen if he’s interested.
So there you go. Today’s coming to an end. I’ll share one final thought about the day on Patreon for supporters, but here, this is it.
May your days have margins for whimsy and other restorative diversions—time to reset, refocus, and return to your goals feeling restored and ready.
Good night.

The more I think about what Emily said at Clines Corners, the more it settles into me.
She had been planning for more than a year—not only how to get away, but how to become part of my life without disrupting it.
She had plans for everything.
Some of them, she got wrong. She thought she might sleep on a sofa. She thought she would need to get a job and earn her keep—as though having a bed, food and a place in the family were things she would have to repay.
Other things, she had figured out almost ideally. She dreamed up the adjoining hotel-room solution before any of us needed it: I would keep the keys, and she could enter through our room. Now she has revealed an online-school option that could allow her to keep learning while traveling with us.
She wasn’t just dreaming about belonging. She was studying every possible problem and trying to solve it before anyone could decide she was too much trouble.
That makes me a little sad.
“I just didn’t want to ruin your lives if I actually got to live with you…”
She has carried that worry for a long time—the idea that she might take up too much space, cost too much, change too much or somehow make everything harder.
She hasn’t ruined anything.
She has changed things, certainly. Families change when someone new becomes part of them. But changed is not ruined.
I told her she hasn’t ruined our lives, and she won’t.
Now I need to find a way to make sure she truly believes me.
And, I will.
