Chapter 3.1.12: BIG COMMITMENT by Hannah Madison

Merritt and I did it! We made a HUGE commitment. Probably not what some of you are thinking, though!

We joined a gym in Brooklyn.

It’s something we’ve talked about—it’s just never seemed like something to mention in a post until now.

We’re not going to be crazy about it, but we’re going to try to fit some fitness time into our schedules a few days each week.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the future, and I want to share part of a reply I wrote to a Patreon comment, so I tuned it up and made corrections. Here goes…

I still think about Noah and Emma's decision. They found a way to reset after Pay It Forward Society disappeared. They did something I think everyone needs to do sometimes.

They stopped. They looked around. They asked what was best.

Sometimes the easy thing isn't the best thing. Sometimes the things you think must wait need to happen now. Sometimes you take what you have and shape it into what is best.

I'm looking at myself through that lens.

Merritt and I are enjoying our Ruffles joke, but we actually believe it. I could pick Merritt, commit, and never feel like I'm missing something.

And… honestly… I guess I've already done that. I think he'd say the same thing, too.

Our timing is not pressured like Emma and Noah's was. But, I think Merritt and I know where we're heading.

And it looks like Izzy and Kent know where they are heading, too!

So last night, we joined a gym. Together. We think it is one small part of the future we will walk toward together.

We’re not engaged. But we think that’s next. When?

Again, we’re not under pressure, and we’re not in a rush. But you can probably see the writing on the wall for us.

And I’m perfectly okay with that.

And, in homage to Emma…thanks for reading my story!

Chapter 3.1.13: HELLO HOUSTON by Mara Voss

Okay, I’m reconsidering my boyfriend decision. Evan just got a Happy Meal so he could get one of the FIFA World Cup 26 Squishmallows toys.

On second thought, I’ll keep him.

We’re in Houston trying to decide which five-star hotel to check into for one night so we can leave the next day and post that Shay and Devon were there. Also, as of now, I don’t know if Houston actually has any five-star hotels.

I can confirm the Squishmallows promotion, though.

We’re doing well. We’re having fun. And we’re using the “L-word” to describe our relationship.

That’s all for now. See you next time.

Chapter 3.1.12: BIG COMMITMENT by Hannah Madison. Hello Hannah! Good to hear from you. Glad you joined a gym. Working out together can be fun as long as you don't obsess over the fitness goals. //I still think Emily and Noah did a brave thing. I mean, when push came to shove, they had to decide, yes or no, and decided yes, we're doing this. That takes courage. And trust in each other. You and Merritt are not under pressure. And that's good. I believe you when you say you know where it's going. That's fine. There's no rush. You two already have a general life plan. That is way more than most. And, like Emma, we always enjoy reading your story. Thank you for posting it.
