MUCH NEEDED SOAK—from 2026-07-08

Wednesday’s day on the go was hot and tiring. Ailana ended the day with a long shower, letting the hot water wash away not only the grit of the day but also some of the tension that came with it.

The thought crossed her mind that it might be possible to sleep standing in a shower. She decided not to try that. Instead, she closed her eyes and let the hot water soothe her tired body.

Most SPECIAL REQUESTS are inspired by ideas readers have shared, often as variations of moments, images, conversations, or character reactions from previous posts. They may include additional images, expanded story context, extra scenes, or a closer look at how a character responds to something in the storyline.

WRONG SHOES INDEED—from 2026-07-08

Hannah’s Thursday had lasted about two hours longer than her feet. The whole ride home on the train, all she could think about was getting her heels off as soon as possible. She rejected the idea of taking them off on the train and walking home barefoot.

As she approached Crossroads, her mind focused on making the final block.

Once she was alone in her apartment and shedding her heels, a new thought emerged.

“Shower. Definitely a shower before bed.”
