GOOD MORNING by Ailana Geven Keller

Believe it or not, I checked my past good-morning chapters. Wednesday: green robe in the bedroom. Thursday: green shirt in the kitchen. Friday: red robe in the bathroom. So, back in the bedroom and back in a blanket!

My phone rang about an hour before sunrise. It was Sasha.

“Are you awake?”

“I am now.”

“Good. Clay and Micah are going over to the factory to measure stuff. I’m taking all the girls out on Imagine What for some fun. We need to be at the marina at ten.”

“What?”

“Which part?”

“What are they measuring?”

“The floor. Clay’s been looking at the custom imprint idea and running some numbers. I wake you up, and you want to know about a tape measure?”

“Aren’t you pregnant or something?” I asked.

“I won’t be able to wakeboard for much longer. I’m calling today my last day.”

“Who all’s going?” I asked.

“Everyone else said yes. Just girls. No boys allowed.”

“What about Emily?”

“She already said yes. She said she’d be in charge of snacks.”

“You called my sister before you called me?”

“I didn’t want to disturb your beauty rest. See you soon!”

Now you know as much as I do. Let’s find out what happens.

In the meantime, I hope you have a great Saturday morning. See you soon!

ALL ABOARD by Ailana Geven Keller

I’m not opposed to tossing out a cliché, you know. And since we’re about to board Imagine What, I decided I should.

At this point, a few things need to be said.

First, Emily’s idea of snacks is to prepare for being shipwrecked on an uncharted desert island for a couple of years. Hmm… That might make a nice TV comedy series…

Moving on.

Clay and Sasha bought Imagine What last summer. It is a Regal LS9 Surf.

Quick reminder for anyone who hasn’t been around for the boat chapters: the Regal LS9 Surf is Clay’s boat, Imagine What. It’s a large luxury day boat with a white hull, blue accents, a factory hardtop, plenty of lounge space, and a roomy cockpit where people can spread out comfortably.

It works for cruising, swimming, wake-surfing, and our occasional SwimFit testing days. When we’re not using it, it lives at Sea Ranch Marina here on South Padre Island. Basically, it’s part floating living room, part work platform, and part excuse for us to disappear onto the water for a while.

It has a 430-horsepower engine to go forward. Fast. And it has a bow thruster to make docking and maneuvering in tight spaces a breeze. It even has a private head, making it easier to stay out on the water longer.

That’s where we’re going to spend the rest of today. I’ll check back in later, so watch for an update.

LOOK by Ailana Geven Keller

Let’s not even pretend you want a long, detailed account of who did what and when! We’re out on Imagine What. It’s fun! And we have snacks.

Quick notes.

Sasha is an able boat captain. She can handle all 29 feet of Imagine What as easily as she can drive the Highlander.

Once out of the marina, I was confident at the helm, too, so she got her turn to wakeboard. Did I mention we had snacks?

You might remember that when Jasmine joined our beach-loving, seafaring company, she couldn’t swim. She got over that! She’s twenty-one and still has that “sure, I’ll try” attitude. It wasn’t long before she was having a blast.

Geoni opted for tubing. If you know anything about it, you know that’s a wild ride where you put your trust in the boat driver and hang on! Once she had her life vest secured, there might have been some figure eights involved so she could get some crazy airtime!

And there were snacks, of course!

Izzy went for the tube, too, and told us, “Go fast and straight!”

We did. The 430-horsepower engine can push Imagine What to about 50 mph. We didn’t go that fast. She swears we did.

Emily hopped on the skis, too. I know that if I had been on this boat at her age—sixteen—there’s no way you’d have kept me from trying to water ski! I was not surprised that she caught on quickly.

When she finally tired, she came back aboard. Of course, she had a snack!

That’s about all for now. Thanks for checking out this chapter!

I’ll be back tonight for sure. Next up, I think we’re going to drift a little and have snacks.

GOOD NIGHT by Ailana Geven Keller

This is definitely going to be short. I’m trying to hold myself together, and just telling you what happened will make that hard. It’s a really good feeling.

After we got back to the marina, everyone helped clean up and get Imagine What properly docked. That didn’t take very long at all.

Once we got home, Jason had sandwiches waiting for us, so we ate right away. Since we were still in our swimsuits and weren’t fully dry, we sat on the patio.

When we were done, Jason took everything back inside except our iced tea and left us on our own.

“Today was really nice,” Emily said as the door closed. “Actually, it was great.”

“It was a lot of fun, wasn’t it?”

She nodded. “But I meant something different.”

“What’s that?”

“It was great because I felt like I belonged. I felt like I was wanted.”

That’s all…

May you always know that you are loved, that you are wanted, and that you belong where you are.

Good night.
