LET ME TRY SOMETHING—from 2026-08-01 Extra Content

After Ailana finished photographing Naomi and Meredith, she lowered the camera and began reviewing the images on its rear screen.

Naomi leaned closer and studied several of them. Then she held out her hand for the camera.

“Let me try something. Sit back down like you were.”

Ailana gave her a curious smile but handed it over. She returned to her place on the studio floor and settled beneath the lights while Naomi studied the scene from behind the camera.

“Turn a little,” Naomi said. “Let your shoulders relax. Look down—not too far. Hold that.”

Ailana followed each direction, amused by how quickly Naomi had shifted from being the model to directing one. Meredith stepped away from the set and watched as Naomi moved slightly to one side, checked the framing, and took several photographs.

“Bring your chin toward your shoulder,” Naomi said. “Good. Don’t look at me yet.”

The shutter clicked again.

For someone who had only wanted to try something, Naomi seemed to know exactly what she was looking for.

When she finally lowered the camera, Ailana looked up. “Well?”

Naomi studied the screen for another moment before smiling. “I think I got it.”

Meredith came closer and looked over her shoulder.

“You did,” she said.

Ailana stood and joined them. The photograph captured a moment that existed only because Naomi had noticed a possibility and decided to follow it.

Sometimes that was how the best photographs began—with one person seeing something the others had missed and saying, “Let me try something.”

Most SPECIAL REQUESTS are inspired by ideas readers have shared, often as variations of moments, images, conversations, or character reactions from previous posts. They may include additional images, expanded story context, extra scenes, or a closer look at how a character responds to something in the storyline. In some cases, they extend the core storyline, and if so, they are shared with all members.Overall, SPECIAL REQUESTS should feel both visually rewarding and narratively relevant.
