TWO MORE MINUTES—Extra Content from 2026-08-03

Heather May got out of the motel bed at 4:27 a.m.—three minutes before her alarm. By 4:29, she was standing beneath a stream of hot water while steam gathered in the small bathroom.

Every minute she wasn’t moving was another mile she wasn’t covering. West Memphis was about 485 miles away, and if she wanted a good place to park her rig for the night, she needed to arrive before the lot filled.

Still, the hot water eased the stiffness in her shoulders, and the rising steam made the motel bathroom feel almost comfortable.

Two more minutes. She inched forward until the water poured on top of her head and cascaded from there all the way to her toes. Soon she would dry off, dress, and point the Freightliner east. For the moment, the road could wait.

Most SPECIAL REQUESTS are inspired by ideas readers have shared, often as variations of moments, images, conversations, or character reactions from previous posts. They may include additional images, expanded story context, extra scenes, or a closer look at how a character responds to something in the storyline. In some cases, they extend the core storyline, and if so, they are shared with all members.Overall, SPECIAL REQUESTS should feel both visually rewarding and narratively relevant.
