One More—from 2026-07-07
As a rule, after working in the clinic, Vanessa stopped in the laundry room and stripped off her scrubs, and put them in a hamper separate from the one she used for her street clothes. From the laundry room, she went straight to the shower.
After a long day of work, she altered her normal routine to put a new bottle of shampoo where she’d use it. But after the shower, the scrubs would go directly to the dirty work-clothe’s hamper.
Vanessa liked her job. Most of it.
The research and grant writing were very satisfying. She enjoyed the data-collection aspect of the vaccination study, too.
But she was surprised by how much she enjoyed the clinic work. She was good with the patients and effective at helping the doctors. She also liked going out with the Mobile Clinic and working with people that way.
When she thought about it, the only thing she didn’t like about her job was the administrative work that required her to deal with insurance companies. In her view, the system was an overly complex moving target.
Other than that, Vanessa had zero regrets about deciding to join Amir, Anika, and Min to run Shoreline Health and Wellness.
