GOOD MORNING by Ailana Geven Keller

Let’s just start by saying that yesterday was pretty awesome. The chapters that got shared seem to me to contain a lot of information that will be important in the future.

I really liked what The Pay It Forward Society was doing, and trying to get that back online has led to a lot of things involving people who are really close to me. (However, its faltering led to Izzy and Kent moving here, so there’s a silver lining!)

Trying to get it back up led to Nick getting hired and Evelyn moving to South Padre Island. Evelyn and Dad… Well, we’ll see, right?

Trying to get it back up led to Rebecca Charm coming down. It also led to Nick having a meeting with Will and Tom—Will brought Meredith, who I’m co-writing a novel with.

Meredith sitting for some pictures led to Naomi seeing her, Evelyn, and Rebecca and having an idea—how about a team of older models?

So, looking into my crystal ball…

I expect that The Pay It Forward Society eventually gets back up and running. Rebecca and Paul will resume leading the team from Brooklyn. I hope I can get invited to some of their projects from time to time.

I expect Naomi’s X-Team of models will turn out to be an ongoing project as she develops a new vector for her business.

And—not related to Pay It Forward—what about AGI Creative? Well, Naomi is passing the agent role for the entire X-Team to us. Sasha and Jasmine are reading up on it, and Naomi is promising to mentor them.

As for me? I’m going to walk on the beach with Jason and Emily and just see what happens next!

Be back later! See you then.

WHY EVEN ASK? by Geoni Ryan

You may recall that Kel’s caseworker, Marissa Delgado, set up a meeting for today.

For context, I’ll start by saying that when she said nothing was wrong—or something like that—she was talking about Kel.

Josh, Kel, and I are sitting here, a little stunned. Since I’m an editor of science and tech journals, I’m comfortable starting with an abstract summary at the beginning of an article. I think Josh provided that.

He looked across the table at Marissa and said, “Why is this even a question? We’ll do whatever it takes. Just give me a to-do list and we’ll start today.

Along the way in Kel’s adoption process, we’ve learned—partly from Kel—that his mother, Tiana Hale, never meant to be a bad mother, but substance abuse and an increasingly unstable life prevented her from being a suitable parent.

She took whatever work she could find during sober periods, but those were short-lived. When she wasn’t sober, she traded sex for drugs, food, or other immediate needs.

After Kel was removed from her home in 2017, her life became even more unstable. She ended up in Fort Worth, moving among truck stops while trying to support her habit.

Shortly before Josh’s “whatever it takes” speech, Marissa told us this:

“In 2018, Tiana had another child named Aria. Tiana was using aliases and wasn’t fully forthcoming about her identity. The connection to Kel wasn’t established at the time. She was in a foster-to-adopt home when Kel’s adoption here was getting started. That placement can no longer proceed to adoption, and we want to explore placing her here with her half-brother—if you’re open to that.

I’ll close this chapter with my version of Josh’s question. “Why are you even asking? Make it happen.”

AFTER MATH AFTERMATH by Sofia Torres

Since the party yesterday, Ryan and I have talked through a lot of things.

It is after work, and I am at his house. Yes, I brought a change of clothes, so that might help you see where we are in the relationship. After his “prenup” comment yesterday, you probably aren’t surprised.

I want to address remarks that he’s been deceiving me and leading me on.

I thought I made it clear yesterday that he had been honest about being wealthy. I’ll stand by my claim that I’d never ask you or anyone else how much you had in your checking account. That goes for portfolios and all the other places money is kept.

I thought millions… Okay… I was wrong about that, but really, for someone like me, it’s all more than I can imagine.

I can’t even figure out how anyone could say he was leading me on. I sort of initiated things with him, you’ll recall.

So, I’d like to put those ideas to rest.

I asked him what his family would think about me.

“What do you mean?”

“Poor immigrant girl… I don’t fit your world.”

Ryan shook his head. “This is my world now.”

“For how long, though?”

Ryan paused long enough to scare me. Then he said, “I realized yesterday that I’d skipped over half of what Dad said to me. I’ve told you he said, ‘Ryan, you have all the wealth you’ll ever need. What you need is a life with meaning and happiness.’ I’ve been so focused on figuring out what that meant that I never thought about the rest.”

“Which was what?”

Ryan laughed. “What’s amazing is that all the time I was struggling to figure out what would make life meaningful, I was already doing the second part. Dad said, ‘What you need is a life with meaning and happiness. Find someone to share a life with first. Then let your wealth make it easy.’ I’m sure I’ve found that someone.”

I was speechless.

“Do you think God can control what number comes up on a dice roll?”

I nodded. “God made the heavens and the earth. Dice shouldn’t be a problem.”

Ryan smiled. “Then God can control what comes up on a random number generator, too—and have us meet at Circle K one morning in June.”

GOOD NIGHT by Ailana Geven Keller

So…I’m not sure which is larger: the amount of work I did today or the news Josh, Geoni, and Kel received. Forget that… The news was huge!

If you missed the midday chapter, you probably want to go back. As one of the loyal readers says about things around here… “Never predictable!”

Kel’s caseworker recently discovered that Kel has a half-sister—Aria. She had an adoption in the works, but it fell through. The Ryans were asked to consider adopting her.

Essentially, the answer was, “Why is this even a question!” Of course they said yes.

As soon as the caseworker left, Geoni called everyone here over to their condo to tell us—except Izzy, Micah, and Kent, who were working.

Josh was already on the phone working things out.

“Are there any barriers or concerns?” Clay asked. “You already went through the wringer once.”

Kel answered. “She needs a bedroom. She could sleep in my room, but that wouldn’t be ideal.”

“She can room with me,” Emily volunteered.

“That’s called a sleepover,” Sasha replied. “I don’t think that counts.”

Geoni then said, “Josh wants to buy the four-bedroom rental next door. It’s an investment property. Hopefully the owner is willing to sell.”

“What if,” Sasha said, “they have Grandma’s ashes spread in the backyard and the place has sentimental value?”

Geoni literally scowled. “First of all… ick! But there’s lots of places we can make an offer on. We just like the idea of being close to everyone.”

According to the caseworker, things can move along fairly quickly. There will be video calls, in-person visits, and other chances to meet. If things move along with everyone in agreement, Aria could arrive by the end of the month.

“We’ve got a lot of calls and meetings ahead,” Josh reported.

“What can the rest of us do?” I asked.

Jasmine answered. “We should go to San Francisco to collect content for future work.

Everyone looked at her funny, and she added, “It’s Sasha’s idea.”

Sasha nodded. “It is. Revenue and all that…”

Emily immediately whispered to me, “Can I stay here?”

I sighed. “We’ll talk about that.”

GOOD MORNING by Ailana Geven Keller. Good morning, Ailana! Thanks for the beach photo! That was certainly a change in the morning photo routine. Thanks for recapping all of the Sunday happenings. That was quite the shindig. At least everybody finally met everybody. I think. And two new people! Yep. We'll see what happens next. It probably won't be dull ... or predictable.

WHY EVEN ASK? by Geoni Ryan. See? A little sister? Of Kel's? Holy cow! Thanks for posting, Geoni. Of course you and Josh are going to take her. It's the right thing to do. And offering to facilitate the process to you was the right thing for Miss Delgado to do. Glad she wanted to keep the siblings together. What a thing! What a good thing. Thanks for posting, Geoni.

AFTER MATH AFTERMATH by Sofia Torres. Hi Sofia. Ha! You had quite a day yesterday, didn't you? To find out that Ryan doesn't just have some money, he's fantasy rich. And yet he drives a truck with a mismatched door, I think. That right there tells you "money ain't the thing". I didn't know what to make of him at first. Honestly, I still don't. But I think I've decided that he's a good guy who needs a good woman beside him to help him find the answers he's looking for. And ... I wasn't aware anyone thought he deceived you. Like you said, you pursued him. And he'd already told you he didn't have to work. He just didn't say by how much he didn't have to work. But I've heard many ultra rich people say a person needs to get up and have to go somewhere. Work, church, volunteer. Something. Life has to have a purpose. I believe you can help both of you to find that purpose. Good luck and thanks for your post.

GOOD NIGHT by Ailana Geven Keller. “First of all… ick! You teller, Geoni. With yours and Josh's money, you can do anything. Gotta love that Sasha. She keeps the planet moving forward responsibly. Emily, I, too, await this answer. I mean, how can you stay there while Ailana and Jason travel? I thought the whole purpose of online school was so you and Kel would travel with AGI. AND you just got Judge-awardedness to the Kellers. They can't guard or conserve or whatever they are from a distance. Yes, I, too, await Ailana's response to your request. Hmm, why do you want to stay back anyway? San Francisco is a fascinating town. Oh! Uh, thanks for posting, Ailana. I bid you all good night. ✨.
