You might have seen Amazon Prime advertising their new movie I Care A Lot - I hated it! I get that it's supposed to be a "black comedy" but it's about a woman who exploits and abuses vulnerable people and has very little comedy about it. It felt so strange. At one point we were going to turn it off, but I felt like I might as well finish it.

I understand what they were trying to do, but I didn't like it!  I felt like it missed the mark on being a black comedy, and it certainly wasn't a drama or thriller - it just felt gross. /endrant

I Care a Lot (2020)

Poised with sharklike self-assurance, Marla Grayson (Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike) is a professional, court-appointed guardian for dozens of elderly wards whose assets she seizes and cunningly bilks through dubious but legal means.

I hated it too... Definitely nothing comedic about it. Did leave me a little unnerved that you could have your freedoms taken away like that tho, hope it’s not that easy in real life!

I'd seen it advertised and thought I might give it a go, as Peter Dinklage was in it, but I don't think I will now.

Saw the trailer. Is it based on actual facts, as it does seem the American way. Did not appeal.

Can't understand why it was nominated as a comedy, they is a few funny bits but more a crime/drama genre. I thought Rosamund did a great job although Peter seemed to walk through his part. I wonder if they made it to highlight the systemic problems in this area.

Adventures and Naps

I thought Rosamund's acting was great but hated the rest of it - although I hated her character, too. There wasn't a single character that you end up rooting for!
