Happy Saturday, everyone!!

This was supposed to be a PO Box video, but it turned into something else! Don't want to spoil the surprise, but I hope you like the video!

Also I hope everyone is keeping cool out there - we've had quite the heatwave!

Love the pronunciation of Warwick 😂 Great castle there if you’re ever in the area! Tea bread looks like everything I don’t like in a cake, so I won’t give it a try lol Have you ever tried summer pudding, might be a fun one to try Have a good weekend 😎☀️

Aaron Conway

Thank you for the video! I really like your cooking videos! They’re so funny lol, also thank you for playing fall guys this week! I play it on my own a lot, so it was a lot fun playing it with you! I really appreciate your videos and streams!

Another Englishism! Warwick is pronounced Warrik :-) I’m a huge fan of fruit cake (you can send me a fruit cake any time, and I won’t take offence) - but I’m not convinced about making it with tea. Another really enjoyable video, thank you Alanna

For some reason the tea loaf reminded me of my Mum's Bread Pudding in terms of how it looked and the fact that it was full of dried fruit - it really ought to be very different but maybe that's down to my Mum's cooking! Stay cool over the next few days....getting hotter still!

Two very thoughtful PO Box gifts. I hope the temperature decreases in your part of the world. It's must be difficult for the elderly and pets especially...

The rule of thumb is, that the more North you go, the softer the water gets and the harder the people get!

Hi, Alanna, that was great fun I really enjoyed it. I've only had tea bread once. It's not for me. Did the Butler enjoy it? Hope we get to see you do the lemon drizzle cake.

Fruit cake, the worst food thing to ever exist IMO.

It's called Tea Brack here and I love it, we have soft water here but I still use the filter jug for making tea, espresso and cool drinks, it takes the chemical taste out of our river water that the purification works put in it, it's never kept in the fridge as would use too much electricity to boil the water and ice cold drinks in very hot weather are a shock to the stomach which can cause stomach aches. Talking of water guess what, a few days of fine weather and the Irish water company are talking of local restrictions if we don't get several mm of rain shortly. This is the wettest country in Europe for gods sake! Shit! Fan has just scattered all my paparwork off the table.

Great stuff..Many thanks ..So how many fruit cakes are you going to get now..lol..Also how long have you had the mixer. That must help with baking..

Thanks Stephen!! Butler didn't like the fruit bread lol but it was a fun experience! I think he'd be more interested in the lemon cake, too

Cheers Mark! We got the mixer pretty recently, just a cheap Amazon one - surprisingly none of my recipes have called for one since we bought it lol

Lester Townsend

just thinking, what would happen if you made this bread/cake with cold coffee/ coffee liqueur ...

Whilst checking that out, have a look at a Sussex Pond Pudding, four ingredients, a whole lemon, butter, sugar and bread.

Wouldn't be without my Kenwood, a replacement for the previous forty year old one that finally gave up living. Stayed with Kenwood as all the extra attachments still fitted as they have been basically unchanged since the 1950's. Just got more powerful motors and larger bowls. Using a mixer saves time, prevents getting arms like a weightlifter's and makes lighter cakes along with better bread.

This weather is a bummer, I've turned into a right night owl doing all the cooking and baking after 23:00 as cooler and cheaper thanks to Smart Meters. Going up to bed at about 03:00 then being woken an hour later by the pre dawn chorus, those Great Tits are noisy little beggars, at least they are musical unlike the Crows and Seagulls about an hour later. Thankfully they don't perch on my telephone cable like the Tits do, right above my open bedroom window. (summer and winter) They enjoy the warmth from it and are sheltered by the eaves.

I too was wondering the difference hard and soft water would make.

Andy McGarty

It looked really nice. Not sure about tea flavoured fruit, but regular fruit loaf is lovely. I have a feeling people might also eat it with cheese!
