Omg already need next updateee

Sana

The autor of Fairy Tail has no friends, and thats why he created this manga, its all about bonds and friends, he wish he has something like this in his life 😭

J's Space

Omg! Can't wait for the next upload!!! Just a little harmless spoiler - The arc isn't over.. we still have 1 big enemy ahead!

🌸Foof🌸

💜🫀😸💙 I always read that friendship moment just being more about willpower. It's their friends/family that gives them strength to get up even if they have no magic left etc

Mericat

It’s coming….

Anitrix

I don’t know if anyone commented this before but the seven kin of purgatory actually represent the seven deadly sins. Pride is azuma Envy is meredy Sloth is kain Wrath is zancrow Lust is ultear Gluttony is rusty rose Greed is zoldeo(the guys who took over Capricorn) When I first watched fairy tail I didn’t catch this detail but rewatching it makes total sense. This is why I love fairy tails writing! Also loving the reactions keep it up guys!!

Mericat

I’m so curious: now that you guys have learned a little bit about the first master with this arc, what do you think Mavis was like? I love the story of Fairy Tail’s name meaning “eternal adventure.” And I wonder, knowing how much Makarov cares about his “kids” in the guild, how she would feel to find out that her successor ended up turning to dark magic and becoming Fairy Tail’s enemy.

Lukastace

I feel like this is a fandom theory that people stretched to fit, Ultear being lust and Meredy being envy don't really fit at all...? Rustyrose isn't gluttonous whatsoever as much as he is prideful, and Azuma himself isn't too prideful at all. The only ones I'd concede are 2/7, Zancrow and Zoldeo

Anitrix

Idk I just thought it was a fun theory. I know not everyone is going to fit perfectly into every sin. People can be switched around and I’ve seen people make good explanations as to why each person fits. I just wanted to point out the theory to see what their thoughts were.

I get Andrew's frustrations but it's important to note that while the 5 of them defeating Hades was plot armor and a 'power of friendship' moment, that doesn't make it an inconsistency, as they still destroyed Hades' heart at the exact moment he was about to kill Natsu. Is it good writing? Not really, that's why it's a contrivance. But the true value of the scene is something you'll only get by pushing aside the urge to make a "power of friendship" comment and actually observe what's happening; Natsu is saying that he can't help being scared alone, but among friends he has the courage to fight. Gray and Lucy are saying "As long as our friends are with us, we have nothing to fear." Wendy and Erza are saying that they "Even if we don't have any magic power left, we won't give up until the bitter end.". They're getting ready to die together. It's contextualised positively what with the music and all that, but that's exactly the kind of series Fairy Tail is. This hits a lot harder after episode 122 as well, is all I'll say. It's probably why I don't mind fake-out deaths much in this show like everyone else does, because the stakes for the characters themselves are more important than the stakes for me (the viewer) as it leads to the heavy emotionally cathartic moments.

I just want to say the arc after this, key of the starry heavens is actually not filler it is canon and the story of the arc is written by Hiro Mashima himself, he just couldn’t put it in the manga because of time constraints so he added it to the anime instead, but it does need to be watched, I personally enjoy the next arc like some other people, I will say that the arc may start off kind of slow but it gets lot better halfway through. Also episode 126 is canon to the arc.

Shanakar

And then you have people saying Fairy Tail sucks. I don't know what world they live in but man, it's episodes like these that make me love Fairy Tail more and more! Can't wait till you also watch Fairy Tail Zero. Make sure you watch it in the right order otherwise you'll miss out a lot and ruin it!

sopha

It's also stated throughout the show that magic is linked to emotions, so it makes sense going by this world's structure that they will garner a bit more energy thinking of each other during such a dire moment and choosing to fight. It can feel like a cop out but this show was always about friends going on adventures and growing together, I always saw the fighting as a secondary thing, it's why I love it as a comfort show.

Lukastace

I agree, it's just that the whole "magic is emotion" is so intricately written into the plot and much more than a cop-out so I feel the need to defend scenes where people call "power of friendship" prematurely. Yes, that's kind of the point, but also there's much more to it. The power of emotions is more than a tool for a comfort show, Fairy Tail is what you get when the primary concern is protecting one's friends and that drive actually translates over to motivation- so duh, motivation riles you up. It's as you said- the fighting is secondary. Probably why all the other powerscale heavy anime fans tore Fairy Tail apart back in the 2010s.

Lukastace

Understandable, it's just that your wording heavily implies confirmed intentionality rather than it being your own personal hc/interpretation. Not trying to ruin the fun and I apologise if it comes off that way, but this phrasing/sentiment can pretty easily carry over to misinformation.

Mirajanescar

I think it is more of them constantly using the term friends but I wouldn’t consider it a power of friendship ending. I do see the argument in most cases but not here. I think it comes down to the idea that you are least afraid when you are surrounded by your friends or other people. This scenario would be extremely scary if you were alone but you can feel more at ease with other people with you. Similar to being scared to do something in real life but being able to do it cause you friend might motivate you or because you have them nearby.

The next two episodes are CRAZY! Also, some watch orders for the series have the first movie after this arc, but I disagree, because the movie has a couple of spoilers. I would recommend you wait until Episode 203 to watch the first movie. The movie does have a prologue, though, that you can watch once this arc is over, if you so choose. PS. Are you guys still planning on watching the OVAs?

D.Rock

And don't worry. You'll know what "Acnologia" is soon enough.

AC

I'm hyped! :D

🌸Foof🌸

I hated the next arc felt like it dragged so much 😭

Sana

At least its way better than that shitty arc about celestial spirits, I hope they skip it

Avior Scarlet

That's true i heard it somewhere, not to mention Hiro never wrote anything meaningless it can be case

Avior Scarlet

It is good writing better than oh now that we have trained enough we can do anything God can do, some fights are actually won by strategy, quick thinking and thinking ahead of the opponent..... y'all just weird

Lukastace

Excuse me? I feel like you're attacking something I never defended, going after typical shonen writing conventions. If you read my comment beyond a single base critique, I was giving praise to the way this series masks its unfortunate moments with "hype" and "hope" through the soundtrack, and said how that can unfortunately lead to people misconstruing it as the power of friendship. Please read the comment in full before going out of your way to get mad and insult someone. Your irrational show of anger here only makes it look like you're blindly defending the series and are incapable of dealing with criticism (my comment wasn't even that critical). Fairy Tail is my favourite series of all time, but that's why I am actually capable of critiquing it where I think if fell short of my own standards in some areas. And it is because I can critique it in those regards that I'm able to appreciate its amazing writing all the more when it shines. Apologies if I misinterpreted your comment or if it was addressed to someone else. Patreon doesn't have a feature that allows you to specify who you're replying to, so it's possible that could've been the case.

I want you guys to really think about how crazy this win condition was. First of all they had to destroy the devil's heart, second they had to get back the tenrou tree to restore their magic and lastly they had to beat up Hades before he was able to cast Grimore law. They also needed help from the exceeds, Ultear and a power up from Laxus. If even one of those things did not happen they all would have died.
