The chronological franchised films continue from here, as Rocky IV. Then Rocky V, which people say to skip, but is part of the journey. Then Rocky Balboa, which is effectively Rocky VI. From then on, it's Creed 1,2,3.

I feel both ways about it. Ultimately, I do think Rocky V is sort of inessential to the overall story. It is the most middling entry, IMO, and many of the themes in the movie are better expressed in other Rocky films. At the same time, it also feels like it isn't worth it to skip just one movie when the franchise has this many movies in it.

Only minor thing worth noting about the subsequent Rocky movies is that for Rocky IV, the next one, Sylvester Stallone completed a director's cut in 2021 that removes a bunch of original footage and replaces it with almost 40 minutes of alternate scenes. I would be interested in seeing you do the DC, but I'm sure most Rocky fans would prefer the theatrical as it was the only version for 36 years. (I admit I'm an outlier in that I don't like Rocky IV, while many of the fans love it.)
