I can't even hear myself horse I mean think (I think it was everyone who planned the horses)

CartoonDeathTrap

Incredible. Powerful. Moving. Easily my new favorite episode of this campaign.

Jace Landry

This is the most thing jrwi I think I’ve ever listened to

Ultra boss 55

See this is why I pay $10 a month, and I would pay more

Slick

If I watched a campaign where the big bad didn’t get interrupted by a bit that got way too out of hand, I’d stop paying 10$ a month

Jakakob

I agree, one of the best bits in terms of how unique, twisted, and horrific the describing was. The somber music was cherry on top. I’d say I wish I was blind to this but apparently that isnt enough.

PsySneks

To answer the question on if we like the shit y'all get up to. Yes 100% the energy y'all have just feels like the most genuine friend group just playing DND vibe I have ever found on a podcast. So when y'all get a lil too silly... I'm here for it lol.

randopandour

Condi...why did you allow this? Don't get wrong, I cackled like a maniac while listening to the last 15 mins of this at work, and this was painfully hilarious, but why did you allow this?

Salad LegitASalad

i love listening to the horsing around that jrwi does !

The blame I think falls on the party asking if they could use 500 horses as a distraction or something along those lines, party asked her if she could make or summon 500 horses, she couldn't but said "I mean I can make them fuck and then you'll eventually have 500" and that twisted from there into the abomination we have now. Regardless I loved this episode please never change. I've never been able to listen to any other dnd show because they don't have nearly as much fun as you guts do

Corvid

To answer Charlie's question, both, but I love it anyways

StarCoffey the other vtuber

Okay, So I think the difference between this horse bit and something like Dark Puckered Hole, is that DPH is confined to a single scene and fundamentally would not change the overall plot of Riptide if it was removed (it also acts as a break from a heavy scene while also hilariously giving more backstory to Finn). The Horses changed the entire trajectory of the story. You guys didn't just feed the wolf lasagna, You gave it a full course meal in a buffet and is now wheezing for its life.

Luna

For me personally i was closest to laughing out loud in a public setting it was hilarious the problem being that it immediatly ruined every shred of seriousness that this campaign could habe had. Great for the comedy absolutely destructive and horrible for the plot, lore and characters

First off yes the horse joke was funny as fuck i think letting everyone describe people was so fucking funny And Also like what if the person the King is trying to revive is the moon beast and thats Why he shooting the juice into the air and he said that they where all gonna Die

Monke City

A horse walks into an inauguration. The king say's ` /------c--\ / _ _ ___ _\ ( _| (o) (o) | ) | / .V. \ | \ /_ _\ / __`''(''''')'' `__ /----\ \ / /----\

Casketeer

Its a charming tax for sure. Like its taxing but I'm happy to pay it.

QueenPickle

This episode was like the moldy corridor from riptide sexualized

Pan

I personally have loved every second of all the stupid bits in this campaign. I was also in public and fully laughed out loud at the player explanations

Zaeikil

The bits make me go “Yeah, that’s JRWI” and also go “Jesus Christ” at the same time

CommotionInDaOcean

In my own campaign, we fought the big bad by creating a giant party blimp filled with helium and hydrogen, flew it into his house, and blew it up. I’m all for creative and silly plans for the final battle. That said, I think the moment with Mel and her parents didn’t hold as much weight, but I’m not sure I minded. I think it makes the whole campaign feel silly, but if that’s not the intention, I can see how that might upset the DM or the players. As a listener, I still enjoyed the campaign so far

Quai

I clean at a hospital for a job, I can not reach my ear buds all the time, so there is no stopping, I'm cummitted from start to finish. Makes my days a bit better to hear ya guys enjoy playing D&D.

stone brick

I dont think i can watch sbr now

I’m-gunna-get-you

I listened to this episode on a long car drive and for a solid 45 minutes I was stuck behind a horse trailer. It felt like watching final destination on a plane.

Amelia

Little late to the party but shit like this episode is 1000000% the reason I love listening to this show so much. The majority of the time you guys are so good at balancing the funny with the serious, but even in times like this where I feel the scales have tipped more to one side than the other, you all still seem to have so much fun with it and that’s the part that makes it good. You all make sure that everyone feels included and has a space in the bit and that’s the part that makes every second of visceral horse fornication imagery so fucking funny and enjoyable because I’m gonna be honest if it wasn’t you guys it would NOT be enjoyable at all. Keep it up!! Y’all rock!

I think y'alls commitment salvages tone break by insane jokes like the horse orgy. Like... you simply cannot get bits like the horse orgy in other media. And that shit had me rolling. Even if it was so insane I have no idea how episode 17 can recover. But dnd is for insane theater of the mind. I think these bits only hold you back if you don't committ to the emotional payoffs of the actual character arcs. But you guys always play the important character moments sincerely and give each other the space to do so (like Paeon with the monster or Mel with her parents). If you don't do that, then it sucks, but y'all do so its able to be insanely funny and also really emotional when it needs to be. Which I think holds true for all the campaigns thus far.

I won't say much. I cant. What do you say? But if you didn't have your particular sense of humor? I might not have almost died choking on water while listening to this vacuuming. Others would have been asked to describe the scene. Then gone real gross with it. You jumped straight into horror short story's where the horses and the colour white are described as something apocalyptic. And that was hilarious. It was a hilarious joke told seriously. In literal tone at least. The mother covering her children's eyes as they were washed away. The elderly vanishing into the crowds. Genuine horror scenes. That slight SLIGHT, horror tone made it so unbelievably funny. Worse comedians would have described the horses. Describe the scene quite grossly. This was so good 🤣
