THE BOYS DISCUSS THE FIRST EVER JUST ROLL WITH IT FINALE WOOOOO

Comments

BouncyBirb

Honestly, I’ve got to say i kinda see where Grizzly is coming from with wanting to be a horse

Kebibble

Holy shit wait since he gave it to Peter and Elena if someone were to use Legend Lore or a Mirror of the Past on Thanatos’ helmet they’d know exactly where he is

Bully Me

This was the first campaign I finished, although I started PD first I took a break to watch Apotheosis just because I couldn't help it

Bailey Grau

If he dies the world would probably just spit out a new god eventually with what divine power got left behind. I don’t remember if it was explicitly explained, but it was implied that it’s a continuing cycle. Keep him alive forever and the cycle is forever stalled.

Krow

A bad ending what if anniversary episode would go crazy

THEFluffyPanc

Was this meant to be posted for this tier?

Amba

I was wondering that too

Ihatecrabz

Will there be a download able version of this?

dorgo

shhh

The Rat

What happened to Rumi’s (I forgot there name…. 2 seconds after I finished the episode) parents, or Peter’s parents, also please tell me that Thanatos gets visited by something or someone, so he isn’t in complete silence :((

jwelly

it was Elaina!:)

karma

mr slimecicle will you make updated art of peter please, i loved your last piece

Dead Inside

Was there a hole different route with the God of charisma like maybe helping him? Also! Will there be just roll what if apotheosis?

That One Guy

Should we let non-patrons know that Elaina now goes by Elaina? I get it's a beautiful moment for the end of the campaign but... :P

kokonator

When will prime defenders start and will Charlie dm a campaign in the future

Glam

im so curious to know about rumi/elaina's past lives. Did Grizzly write some stuff out for every life? Was there a past life you were hoping to talk about/reveal dramatically?

Megan Shumway

can we have a list of all the different forms elaina has taken over the years?

Sam

not really a question, but as a genderfluid person, the way elena's gender/pronouns have been treated the whole campaign makes me really really happy. their chosen name being important to their true identity and also the way peter was so kind and encouraging in those two conversations about who they truly were just felt so close to my heart. thanks for playing out such a positive and accurate representation of a character with a very fluid relationship with gender. it made me feel very understood. it just felt very nice every time it came up in such a nonchalant way. i'm rambling, but thanks again, grizzly and the rest of you. it was very important to me to see, and congrats on the finale <3

Sam

thought of a question: does the atlas of untold stories have pictures? i think thanatos would like to see all the statues peter built :)

Celeste The King

Grizzly has something he needs to come with terms with over this horse stuff 😭

Lynn_h25jdh

can we, since it’s over, get a lil taste of the character notes from the players?

VileGhosts

is there a chance we can learn more about Elena's past? Or Peter? I know Bizly wants to keep Thanatos more vague, but I'm genuinely so interested in Elena and what she's been through!!

Lynn_h25jdh

i don’t think we’ve ever gotten character notes from the players and since this is the first conclusion in jrwi we should yk

Lynn_h25jdh

mostly cause i wanna know more about grizzly’s info on elainas past lives

BowlingBall_ Iron

How long is Peter's dong? Same goes for Rumi. And does Thanatos have one. Does it vibrate? Please I need to know for... purely academic research purposes

Jottys

not a question! I just wanted to thank all of you for this amazing campaign i loved every single second of it!

ConsumeCheddar

What inspired each of you guys to make the characters you did? Also great job Condi, loved the campaign!

Ethan Stevenson

If/when you do another campaign, what would the theme be and would it be a longer campaign. Ps. Absolutely loved the campaign. So glad I decided to become a patron.

GenerallyJen

Rumi was a 12 month long experiment run by Harvard University

Bacchu!

This has been asked before but I really want to know more about Elaina and his past lives because they seem very interesting, also was the losing a loved one example random, or did Elaina lose a past love?

oz overzealous

THIS!!! i’m also genderfluid and seeing elena’s they/them pronouns and their chosen name being used right away, AND CHARLIE CORRECTED HIMSELF TO SAY THEY INSTEAD OF HE !!! it made me, as a gender non-conforming individual, feel really seen. elena’s journey to find themselves presents the kind of representation that we non-binary folks don’t get a whole lot. the boys did a real good job with it. -Oz

Boals

Could there be a continuation at some point where someone is able to find the heartblade and then get a message from the God maybe a few 100 years later? And that is if we can continue to send visions from that stone box? Would just be interesting to maybe have peter and Elaina's descendents have to free thanotos to stop them?

Boals

And btw Condi, fucking amazing campaign!!! 👏

oz overzealous

THIS CAMPAIGN WAS INSANEEEEE!!!! condi you did an incredible job dming, everything was insane, the world building, everything. charlie, you have done it again. peter sqloint is my favorite pc ever in the history of the world. his voice, his personality, his little quirks, everything. grizzly, your role playing was literally breathtaking this campaign. it’s always good but elena especially has been incredible. the greif, and love, and everything. incredible. bizly, i am a firm member of thanny nation. thanatos was such a complex robot guy and he’s great and i love him. for a character that was literally built to be a killing machine, he melted my heart. angelstone may have stole the show but thanny stole our hearts. all in all guys, this campaign was incredible, i have nothing but praise. i hope to see the godslayers fighting side by side in future what ifs. <333 -Oz

Darius Presley

I was wondering maybe on the next mini or long campaign if maybe Charlie could possibly dm. I wanna clarify I don't think Condi was a bad dm he did a phenomenal job but I feel like we don't see Charlie as the dm enough and I would also love to see the boys in absolute mayhem for a long period of time. Tho like I said Condi did an amazing job and I love this campaign so much keep up the great stuff.

Ash

Is there any information about Peters upbringing? There were a few seeds planted but I don't think anything about his family or childhood was fully explored. thank you all so much for this amazing campaign!

Ghostii

Was there anything you wanted to bring up about your characters that you couldn’t? Grizzly were there any extra forms Rumi never took on, and will details about all of them be released? Aswell as will the godslayers return in more just roll what ifs? I’d love to see Thanatos and Gillion return. To end it, incredible job to everyone’s work on the campaign. I adore everything this campaign as brought. Thanatos is my new favorite PC, #Thannieforever

Katie Barton

Not a question, just wanted to get this out there! But this entire campaign has been a masterpiece from start to finish. I have been watching this show since season 2 of fated (I actually was first introduced to it with the first Mutants and Masterminds one-shot with Carson LMFAO). I have always loved this show ever since then. The fated campaign is what inspired me to start playing DND with my friends. The riptide campaign is what gave me the confidence to start DMing myself. The prime defenders campaign is what made me want to pursue creative writing and film in college in hopes I could one day write stories that inspire others as much as this show has inspired me. Yet I can say that absolutely. without a doubt, that this is my favorite campaign out of all of them. Creating a shorter story like this can be difficult, especially when it comes to pacing. I myself have never even attempted writing a one-shot or two-shot or what have you in fear of the pacing. But Apotheosis managed to nail down its pacing perfectly. Not only that, in that short amount of time it accomplished everything it wanted to do and more. Every single episode was so absolutely charming and so fun to watch and they all served the greater narrative perfectly, and being able to watch it all culminate to this final episode has been an absolute privilege. Not to mention the story set for this campaign is ridiculous. An epic tale about killing the gods sounds like something that would take years to full flesh out, but I think one of the major reasons that it felt as well paced as it did is that the writing of the gods were genius. It quite literally felt like progressing through a well-crafted video game. Each god managed to build off of each other as the episodes progressed, and that really helped the characters feel like they were actually progressing and getting stronger and they all still felt like major threats, WHICH I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW,, HAD NO IDEA WAS POSSIBLE. THE INITIAL BATTLE WITH ELOTL STILL SHOOK ME TO MY CORE. Elotl truly was the perfect first boss to throw at the party because it set up every next episode up wonderfully. He was the perfect catalyst to not only reinforce the idea that these gods needed to be destroyed and emphasize the mass amount of devastation and destruction they were capable of, but also to kick off the individual paths to character development of the main party, I also appreciated that the progression wasn't entirely linear. Rymir showing up near the beginning and creating that deal with the party was fantastic. The supposed God of Compassion creating the most heartbreaking moments for the party out of compassion for her fellow gods' pains and struggles was mind breaking, and my god I love Tareus with my entire heart and soul, Literally the God of Dignity after being stripped of his own dignity and being made a mockery of, but still somehow taking it in stride and literally being the funniest fucking NPC (this little fucker deadass made me laugh out loud more times than I can count) was literally fantastic. I also like that Zuen wasn't able to be entirely reasoned with at the end. This show has pushed a lot towards the idea of redemption after the conflicting ideals of the main three, and after already beautifully showing the power of redemption when it comes to Elaina and Thanatos, I thought it was an excellent choice to show Zuen as unable to follow down the same roads. Redemption is a powerful thing, and forgiveness is an incredible virtue, but this episode really shows that it's only worthwhile when it comes to the right person. Some people's actions can't be understood or rationalized at times. Some people don't want to change. Some people aren't worthy of redemption. And Zuen encapsulates that perfectly. And while I'm talking about NPCs, I'm gonna start talking about my man Exandroth. I absolutely adore this character, and I just KNOW for a fact that I'm not alone in this. Exandroth was a character that was as hilarious as he was terrifying. Ever since his first introduction, we have an immediate display of the immense kind of power he holds. He's introduced in a way during his first appearance in Charlie's private session that we as the viewers don't doubt for a second his title of archangel. Leaning into that whole sort of cosmic horror/eldritch vibe when it came to the demonstrations of his power and the flavoring of Peter's new powers was an excellent choice. It really allows us to never forget how intimidating he truly is, even when he is peaking the mic with his excessive moaning or making ball jokes whilst sounding like Wilford Warfstache. Normally when it comes to goofy villains like that, you never get the chance to take them seriously but I was on the edge of my seat with every Exandroth lore reveal. I also think that his final battle with Peter was one that should be showcased in a goddamn museum with how great it was, but I'll get more into that in a little bit. I think everyone has already sung their praises about the Apotheosis main party, but I will GLADLY sing them again! This group truly has my favorite party dynamic. Period. They each share similar themes when it comes to the shows core ideals of self-discovery, self-love, and redemption, but in such drastically different ways. This in turn makes for a party dynamic that 's able to fuel each other's developments with ease in such an incredibly satisfying way. The negative effects of true selflessness and tackling self deprecation, mental health has been a hot topic in many recent years, but I think Peter's journey to overcome these ideals was so incredibly powerful. His road towards discovering self-confidence was one of the best I think I saw in media. In the first few episodes, it has been established almost as a universal truth that Peter does not think he's special. That Peter hasn't experienced love, and therefore thinks he's unworthy of it. It has always been such a matter of fact statement at first, and as much as you felt for him as a viewer and wanted him to feel more confident in himself, it was made especially harder with the fact that he was constantly surrounded with these gods and other powerful people. He felt so incredibly weaker in comparison, and the only time he could put themselves up to their power level was with the help of Exandroth. It was hard for Peter himself to stand out. Yet, ever since the first battle with Elotl, you can immediately see the true source of his power. His compassion. His empathy. His heart. And as the show progressed, as Peter finally starts gaining shreds of confidence after being around Elaina and Thanatos, starts sharing his ideas and his own thoughts. And for the first time in his life, he's listened to. His words are validated, and he's treated as an equal. And after offering this love for so many others for his entire life, he finally receives it back, and he finally truly feels like he matters. That his words, thoughts, and ideals actually means something. And I believe this alone, is the reason why he was able to come back from being slain by Thanatos. Peter from episode one would never have even dreamed of fighting against Exandroth, standing up for himself, and proving to himself that he mattered. Yet after being shown such immense love from Elaina and Thanatos, he was able to gain the self confidence he needed to fight back. They are his apotheosis. They are the source of his power. Elaina is a bit of a narrative foil to Peter (which is another reason why I think it was a fantastic decision to have the two get together and become married at the end) but they ultimately reach the same conclusion. From the beginning, Elaina is absolutely radiating with self-love and self-confidence, almost to a narcissistic extent. Being a bardlock with a sex cult and an ambition to become god, now having gained the power of prophecy, Elaina has every reason to believe that they are the shit, and they absolutely do. With their immense life experience, they have such a way with people that they can convince them of almost anything, and they immediately know how to get what they want out of someone. They don't fully appreciate the others around them until Peter and Thanatos show up. Their experience is actually quite similar to Peter's. After being so many people for so long, it's hard to form meaningful connections with others. Deep down, they also struggle with their self-image and self-confidence, as well, always wanting to live perfectly as someone else rather than their flawed individual self. It isn't until Thanatos and Peter show them that love that they start being brought more down to earth. Elaina is actually able to build these meaningful connections with others in a way they haven't been before. And after being forced to look out solely for themselves, and meeting Peter that so desperately believes in giving people another chance and seeing the best in them, it's no wonder that Elaina falls in love. Because not only do they yearn for that ability for themselves, but they so desperately hope that Peter is able to see the best in them too, since they can't see it for themselves. And once Peter dies, they are heartbroken. The same person who could barely form any meaningful connections and saw themselves as god, went so low as to beg Rymir for help in reviving the one person they loved. And once they get the opportunity to claim their apotheosis, the one thing they've worked for throughout the course of this entire campaign, they give it to Peter. Because they don't need it anymore, but they need Peter. Peter is the source of their power. Thanatos is also another narrative foil to Peter but different in the way that Elaina is. He still struggles with the same issues of self-confidence and self-worth that Peter does but for entirely different reasons. He has been shown validation all of his life. But it wasn't validation of himself, but rather his abilities. Thanatos is a powerful being of raw strength and martial prowess. As someone initially incapable of empathy, he proves to be a force to be reckoned with once on the battlefield. His initial private session in episode one was a brilliant showcase of this, showing Thanatos as someone to be feared and not to be empathized with. Yet, Peter and Elaina do anyway. Despite the three of them only meeting for their pursuit of killing the gods, both Peter and Elaina express genuine interest in Thanatos beyond just his abilities and truly care for his well-being. While Thanatos attempts to shrug this off, he can't help but yearn for their compassion. Despite being built for just one goal, Thanatos truly desires to be loved, whether or not he would ever admit it. That's why when he stabs Peter after being controlled by and sees Elaina in tears hunched over his lover's dead body, he just leaves, and tries to fall back on his one main goal: killing the gods. This is because Thanatos believes he has failed. He lost the two main people who has ever shown him compassion for who he really is, and falls back on his pursuit of killing the gods because he's afraid of doing anything else wrong. It's the one thing he believes that he can't mess up, after he already messed up the one thing he's ever cared so much about. But once he comes back and sees that Peter is alive again, and that Elaina is okay, he laughs. He finally laughs for the first time ever, for what I believe to be two main reasons. The amount of disbelief that he actually is able to have his friends back, that he actually didn't things up, and is capable of more than what he is built for, and also the sheer amount of love he feels after being in their presence once more. In the end, Thanatos does get a bittersweet ending. He doesn't fully stay true to his word of powering off once all the gods have been slain since Zuen is never truly slain, but he still devotes his life towards making sure that they do no harm. However, he does allow himself to change in the fact that he spends his time looking over the book that Elaina gave him, looking over his past life and his current life with Peter. Rather than consistently watching Zuen as he no doubt would if episode 1 Thanatos was put into this position, he allows him to look back at the lives of his friends, to once again relish in the love that they gave him. Quite honestly, I think those ideas of Elaina being the final boss or Thanatos being the final boss very much so could've happened, and I think the only reason why they didn't is because of how these characters interacted with each other. Each character of the main party started out so incredibly flawed, and the only reason they were able to develop is because of these idiots' dumbass compassion towards one another. This entire campaign has been an absolute ride with a truly beautiful message. I deadass could write about 15 essays on it. I truly feel honored to have listened to it, and even more honored to have listened through start to finish. Thank you Slime. Thank you Grizzly. Thank you Bizly. And especially, thank you Condi. I cannot wait to see what y'all do next.

roumanic

Is there stuff about your guys' characters that couldn't be brought up in the campaign? Like secrets? Or even what lies Elena has told over the course of the campaign? And to Condi specifically, is there stuff about the world that couldn't be brought up? And what did Peter and Elena do with Thanatos's helmet? Like did they display it in their house or in their garden? Or did they memorialize it in Ranz? I'd like to think that putting it in Ranz makes sense because it's where everyone started.

Lindsey

I didn't cry listening to the episode but now I want to like 2 minutes into this. What a great campaign :) Addition: Will there ever be Apotheosis merch???

Daiquiri

I don't have many questions but are we going to get more campaigns of this length? As someone with absolute adhd brain I think that the pacing is just one of my biggest praises for Apotheosis because it felt like I was able to retain attention on it and not get bored, hit a stage where I get burnt out watching, or want to take a break/ just not pick it up again. Everything felt super fresh and interesting, character arcs felt lived out and not like alluded at during one episode and brought up like 10 episodes later, and it was wrapped up in such a neat way and all of it was done in 6 months which is like a nice bow on the whole package. It was just the ideal length for me and I'm not saying like all campaigns or seasons (in prime defenders case) should be short but I feel like Apotheosis has made me want for more content of that length.

Nunya

In what ways does Elaina act and carry themself differently than when they were being Rumi?

brooklynlane

I loved every moment of this campaign, and the characters that it built. Thank you all for creating such an amazing experience and I’m so excited to get my apotheosis and riptide tattoos soon! My question is very simple, why did falcon not return in the finale? He’s obviously the best character and deserved a freeze frame ending.

D3ssy

my question is,I what were all the different lives rumi had, or atleast the names gender and race they were.

reed_you_guess

Q: a. Did falcon the eagle live a long and happy life B. I would ask what happened to Rumi’s parents and how they were affected by the whole events of the campaign- were they worried for rumi? C. How much did the no sun thing affect the rest of world? I’m assuming like crops would have died out ect, what were peoples lives like??

Temmiefrog47

Question for thanatis: Did you know that you had a previous humab form at the start? Also condi said you had sex once canonically, so did he have a kid? Question for Peter: Did you think out your family, as you mentions lots of siblings and middle child problems? Question for Elena: What changed to allow you to change forms in the last battle? Question for DM: Why make everyone cry so much? :'(

Xubioc

For all the boys. What are all of your thoughts on the entire campaign itself and what are some of your favorite moments throughout it all?

Lo

there’ll probably be a lot of questions like this, but grizzly, can we know more about elaina/rumi’s previous lives? names, stories, that kind of thing? from the little bits we’ve seen of them i’m very curious :0

Neil

This campaign was amazing Condi great job!!! Now I have to get my apotheosis jokes out. I turned into a dog aPAWtheosis I need to cut wood aSAWtheosis I’m a furry confirmed aMAWtheosis Time to commit crime and break aLAWtheosis I really like art aDRAWtheosis I’m feral I eat food aRAWtheosis I don’t want to do that aNAHtheosis Thanks for the great campaign and laughs :)

Lo

also what happened to falcon the eagle. i hope he’s thriving

mocco

this campaign was absolutely incredible, my irl started watching it after i told them all about it because of how compelling the plot and characters are (before this they basically did not watch any jrwi). we both love it and it inspires us to be better writers :) it’s also hilarious. absolutely killed it my question is about lodite! (i dont remember how to spell it,, it’s the funny magic crystals idk). in episode 13 condi mentioned it was supposed to have been a more important part of the campaign, but became less important as it continued (this was brought up because rumi used a charge on their sword to cast a spell without lodite. not super clear what exactly that did) i’m just curious if there’s any cool lore condi had planned that never came up, the world apotheosis takes place in is so interesting and i feel like this wasn’t as explored as it could have been. tell us about lodite!

Charlie Lange

First off thank you guys so much for making this!!! I've been watching the show since I started high school, and now I'm about to start college!!! I only recently was able to sub to the Patreon, but I have binged all of the episodes available to me now! Condi, you did fucking awesome for this campaign, it's absolutely thrilling to listen to, I had to force my friends to rewatch episodes with me. Anyways, onto my question, I'm curious as to how you guys go about designing characters and campaigns for the podcast? Kind of like how the process goes for each of you, I've been playing DnD with my friends so I get really curious about how others go about making their characters!

Lillian Bean

How did you come up with the Exandroth voice

Natsu Sekai

Question: What was in the chip that Thanatos took from the lifeless husk? While Peter was making friends with Faith :), Rumi & Thanatos returned to their roots, and one of them plucked a data chip from the lifeless Thanatos construct, and Condi said something to the effect of "I'm excited for when you find out what's on it"

Daiquiri

Oh, wait. What did Peter do with the remains of his friend? The one that was the god of Courage and then got eviscerated and turned into human-shaped rocks?

weird girlies

ok my question is called: with the "peter, how do i look?" "how much will my answer determine what happens next?" exchange, was that a 'are you about to turn evil' tone or 'are we about to fuck' tone? i cant tell and not knowing is eating away at my soul

Gekerd blep

This was an amazing campaign and it shows how much work and love you guys put into this and I love the ending and just can't wait for everything else you have in store for the next campaigns or just random things you guys do this is the first campaign to have a ending in a sense and I just have to say it was so good thank you so much for making a campaign that I will cherish and have jokes about for ages 🖤💜💙☺️

Dapperlilgingerbread

Did thanatos use the painter kit in the room to graffiti the walls and zuen?

ZeroIQ

Since Thanatos uses so much fire, is he warm to the touch or normal room temperature? I've been thinking about this since the guys hugged goodbye

Beejuice

I just want to know about Elenas past lives :0

Beejuice

So what was the actual timeline of events with the attacks on the celestial realm? Did the robots from when Thanatos was kidnapped stay there for like 20 years or were there multiple attacks?

Beejuice

Also what did rumi actually roll that one time with rymir

Jaxon Dart

The ending was so amazing I’m so proud of condi for dming as good as he can

Roswell

Condi, how far did the campaign deviate from your original plan? Is this the ending you foresaw, or did you even have any certain ending in mind? What were your inspirations for each god and each boss battle? Was the vision that Zuen gave Rumi of Exandroth standing over them meant to incite infighting within the group? Bizly, what was it like finding out your character’s backstory in episode 10? What does Thanatos do in the room to pass the time other than reading? Does he miss the sky? What would he have done if Zuen had been killed and there was no need for the room; would he just have powered down, and if so, where? Or would he become the devil like how you talked about in other rolleds? Thoughts on Thanatos being the flower girl at Elena and Peter’s wedding? Grizzly and Slimecicle, did Elena take the Sqloint surname? General questions: Who were your favorite gods? How do you feel about where your characters ended up? Is there anything that you would have done differently? Where did the moonbeast joke originate? If your characters had boss themes, what would they be (name any song)? What would your characters’ music tastes be? If you could see any moment of the campaign drawn what would it be? Much love to this campaign. All of the characters were so unique and it was fun to watch them develop and become a group yet still maintain their differences and I will miss it

Roswell

Thought of another Thanatos question. Is he just wires on the inside or solid metal or hollow? And is the armor something worn that can be taken off or is it melded to his body as solid plating that just sits on his robo body? Is there a compartment inside that holds the spirit of the once human Thanatos?

TheForbiddenOne

This might be a silly question, but what do you guys think would happen if the Godslayers, Prime Defenders, and Riptide pirates were put in a room together? Also just wanna say phenomenal campaign Condi, loved the absolute shot out of it!!!

charlotte

does peter ever continue painting? and if so, would he change from mugs to something else. idk i just think it would be cool if peter painted elena or thanatos or even like a group portrait

Ace Hutson

I’m saying right now, i hope that thanatos, gillion, and dakota cole are in the next what if?

Dog in a trench coat

Are ya'll gonna use this world as a future campaign setting? Cause that'd be dope

Ace Hutson

Which god is ur favorite?

BonezMcCann

I have no words to describe how much this campaign means to me My favorite finished campaign overall

Engingerneer

What was on that hard drive Thanatos took out of that other Thanatos’ model?

lunarb00ts

I know Bizly said he wanted to keep some of Thanatos’ backstory a mystery but I was curious about what specifically the gods did to him that make his angry enough to create the Thanatos Project and attack the celestial plane

Engingerneer

Also… how would Thanatos or Rumi have reacted when they found out they played Exactly into Zuen’s hands? Would they have been mad or felt betrayed? Or just literally not cared?

Katie Barton

ACTUALLY WAIT I DO HAVE A QUESTION- will there be merch? :)

nerdsquad

What was the inspiration (if any) for the names of the gods? Also, despite the fact that this will probablt get lost in the comments, I just want to let you guys know that Apotheosis is such a powersul campaign. Riptide and PD are phenomenal but theres somerhing about the shorter format of apotheosis that makes every single episode charged to the brim with character and energy. The characters are so human throughout the whole story despite only being partially so and the narrative (perhaps unintentionally as dnd campaigns go) of redemption and humanity and who you are and who you can be is so well done. Peter is a character who knows who he is and what that means. Hes peter sqloint, just a guy and a dude who likes rocks. Hes not particularly confidend in Peter Sqloint, but at least he knows he is peter sqloint. The character of Elena (also how tf do you spell their name) doesnt know who they are and what that means. Through the Rumi facade they are confident in who they are, but who are they? And thanatos? Thanatos knows *what* he is and what that means for him and hes assured of that at the beginning. He is a weapon and he is ok with that. But Peter and Elena arent and they make him begin to question if he is a what or a who. Youve seen the podcast, youve played the podcast. You know how it turns out. I just think its remarkable how this campaign turned out, especially when it very easily could have turned into a story of hubris and pride. Peters death felt necessary to the narrative despite having an astronomically low chance of happening and, while its possible they would have gotten here without it, it was very important to how the final act played out. anyway. i will never stop talking about apotheosis forever and ever it lives rent free in my head i love this campaign i love the guys who made it big props to condi for excellent writing and dming i know how stressful it can be also big props to the guys for playing their characters so well and bouncing off eachother to create this masterpiece i love jrwi as a whole so much and its been a pretty big touchstone in getting me through the last year. you guys have inspired me to start dming and while it didnt last very long i still have a campaign sitting in my google docs. ive laughed ive almost cried and while i know the whole show isnt ending i just needed to get this out there and seen <3 thank you

nerdsquad

ALSO SECOND QUESTION when grizz talked about the modify memory spell he specifically said that elena forgot where zuen was, was that intentional as in they know where thanatos is?

rock

dude I fucking love those hoof trimming videos

R.

Hey would you guys set a new patreon goal to get this campain turned into a comic? I think it would be awesome to read. All your campains youve made iv always imagined them as the walking dead comic artstyle and theme and would be awesome to see that one day.

Sam

What happened to the harp blade? It was mentioned that Elena got a new sword i think, so where did it end up? Also how did Grizzly and Condi decide how to rule Rumi's power transferral to Peter in ep 13? I think i heard in the last episode that they were both at level 15, so how did that end up being decided?

ZandOtherThings

Do yall have songs that you associate with your characters?

Keyia

Peter is happy (gay)

nerdsquad

Ive also been working on concept sketches fon an apotheosis choice based fan game and tho nothing will probably come of it i have apotheosis brainrot

Keyia

I headcanon that Thanatos had a wife when he was human who's still out there, perfectly alive. She probably talked to him before he became a robot and came to terms with her husband's fate and thinks he's dead now. Maybe she found someone new, or maybe she prefers the widow life. I'd also like to imagine the advice Thanatos had came from several failed relationships that he can't fully remember.

thekidnamedq

can there still be a luddite eating contest

Ekkle

not a very important question, but im curious as to what peter's worst fear is. I remember in the just rolled for the episode where they fight the gods of compassion and wisdom that they were gonna show each characters worst fears, and condi shared what rumi and thanatos' were but not peter's.

Keyia

Grizz, please don't Wall-E the Earth

Frances

If Peter hadn’t died, do you think Thanatos and Rumi/Elaina would have had the emotional bandwidth to compromise with each other? How do you think the ending would be different?

Frances

Would you say each character had an apotheosis? Or were some things left unfinished?

despaircore

AS AN EQUESTRIAN I can tell Bizly that Horses are very capable of scratching themselves almost anywhere with their teeth, they're really flexible too. Also wild horses don't need hoof trimming because it's basically the same situation for wild dogs n claws, they still against rocks n stuff themselves

CommotionInDaOcean

I have an rp-based question: Do you find it weird or risky to play a queer character when you're straight or straight-passing? I'm queer and really loved the Rumi/Elena and Peter relationship but I know that if it were me, I might get nervous about stuff like queerbaiting or misrepresenting people. I just wondered if either of you thought much about it, or if you just kinda go with whatever makes sense in the moment. It reminds me of the debate people have over allowing straight actors to tell queer stories or take on roles of queer characters. But I think the line is blurry here. Regardless, loved the campaign, loved the ending, loved the whole damn thing. Keep telling incredible stories!

AislinnMollisong

I would like to know how exactly Charlie expected Peter NOT to become the main character. like sir. It's Peter. He is the mainest of characters.

CommotionInDaOcean

Reading this made me tear up. You summed it all up so beautifully. Thank you for putting into words what makes this story so damn powerful and emotion-filled. (and I also would 100% buy merch. this is the best shit I've heard/watched in YEARS)

Applepie

What did thanatos's creator/dad guy do after the story ended?

Kalybaly (BKG)

What of Peter's family? We don't hear much about them besides I *THINK* he mentioned having brothers and a sister once? Like the episode where he first enchanted a cool rock. And if he's still in contact with his family, how would they have reacted to his retelling of this whole adventure?

Blueberry

I cannot stop smiling this campaign was incredible. No question rn just a lot of appreciation for this incredible thing that y’all created and shared. I am so glad I got to experience this. Thank you all so much.

VeryNiceName16

Was there any reason in particular that Strength's mind was just not there, and every god after Courage had already displaced the vessel, or did you just change your mind on how it worked?

GenerallyJen

Condi, how did you come up with names for stuff in this campaign, I’ve always struggled with naming literally anything in my stories and could use some advice

VeryNiceName16

Why doesn't Peter consider his old adventuring crew his friends?

Iris

i know everyone is asking questions here, and i don’t have one but i still wanted to mention one of MY favorite moments that wasn’t mentioned much here. The entire dungeon crawl while looking for Terrin and especially his and Peters reunion was such a cinematic moment. The music choice was perfect, as was the acting for both Peter and Terrin. And when i thought that scene couldn’t get better, Peter had to fight his literal demons (angels??) as Rumi and Thanatos yelled their choices and ideals at him. That scene really showed the conflict in character ideals in early apotheosis, because back then I honestly felt like the campaign was gonna end badly and with Peter having to pick a side, pick between Rumi and Thanatos. Wonderful scene, maybe even perfect.

Zephyr

If Elena shows up in a Multiversal What-If, will they be pulled from a point in the series where they’re Rumi or from a current time where they’re Elena?

Nixahma

Will there ever be a oneshot/demonstration of a Thanatos boss fight? I just want to see him in his full glory

Big Ol' Schmuck

I wanna thank Condi for following through with this campaign. This has become my favorite jrwi campaign so far. It became such a good story with such a satisfying ending.

Ren Benton

So something I was confused about with Rumi/Elena, the way it was played it made me think that they were like To Your Eternity’d but with the harpsisword, was this a though that came up at all ..?

Twowphee

Did Thanatos ever look into that black box memory thing that he got from the other bot? I genuinely cannot remember what happened to it

Shadow Cosmos314

Will we ever see Apotheosis Characters again? I am in love with every person in this campaign, and would be sad if this is the end of it all. Also, what happens to Moonbeast and Sunbeast?

GodsFavoriteAmine

If Elaina (idk the spelling) dies, will the book go to their next of kin? or will the book end one day? i kinda hope it moves on to the next in the bloodline, so thanatos never runs out of stories to read.

sporkpug

Can the Moonbeast & Sunbeast exist in the same room at the same time & if so does it create some kind of chaos? Would it hypothetically blow up the entire universe or are they secretly homies or something?

roumanic

Why did Exandroth choose Peter as a vessel in the first place?

Misterkryptonite l

Wow. This was such a good mini series, I am in such awe. Such a good job Condi on this whole thing, it might be my favorite thing you guys have done yet honestly. My question is, will the characters be brought back in any way soon? Like how Grizzly used Cass in Riptide, or just some silly easter egg at any point. Love what you did immensely, and will always support your DnD stuff, bc dang is it good!

lexball

IF (hypothetically) zuin didn't require thanatos' watch, what would thanatos be doing? lowkey i can imagine him having a lil farm out in the middle of nowhere just minding his business yk

grillion friedstrider

i believe it was because Peter was "pathetic" and a massive pushover when Exandroth started scouting for vessels, Peter would've never even argued against Exandroth, let alone revolted. He would have just been a puppet if Rumi-Elena hadn't inspired Peter.

Dragmire

I think that would just be pokemon sun and moon lol

WatchOutIt'sTheWeeb

What are some married couple moments between Peter and Elena now that everything is over?

Andromeda

Does thanatos live forever or will he eventually die and leave the god alone. Cause honestly I don’t see why he didn’t just kill him.

Emerald Panda

What would it be called if something with a chance of happening happens aproqtheosis. In all seriousness this was an amazing campaign and that was an amazing job condi!

Cultwry

Do you guys ever go back and listen to episodes and if so why?

Bailey Grau

Can Condi post their dm playlist? I always recognize the songs in the background but I always forget what the songs are called.

ThatOneGuy

Just wanted to say, great job condi. You did such a great job and that ending was absolutely perfect. The bad end just rolled what if is gonna be fun to see also.
