Honestly I wasn't able to watch this show because it gets so incredibly awkward. But having the reaction alongside it really cuts through that so I'd love for you guys to pick this one up.

A great point. It would be harder to watch by myself and I don't necessarily intend to, but I hope they get around to this show eventually (but after Bojack per my vote). That one guy who was like "all these shows suck" seems to have been pretty far off the mark. Good stuff so far.

Also, people have been interviewed from the show. No spoilers but there's always some hollywood magic still to make it not as mean or awkward as it sometimes appears. The people understand that they're doing something a little weird for a TV show.

Just to echo the rest, this was my #1 pick. It only gets crazier and the series finale is one of my favorite episodes of anything ever. And yeah, the people are all normal, but it's pretty easy to get them to say yes to something ridiculous if you stick an entire camera crew in their face.I don't know if it will get the views that some other ones will get but hey, you never know.

Dumb. a show where everybody's dumb or acting dumb. You guys like SMART writing. But . . . it's up to the people. If the people want Poo, the people get Poo. There's a reason Arrested Development got canceled. It was too smart for most people.

AD wasn’t too smart for most people, it was just very heavy on continuity. New viewers couldn’t simply jump in and understand the jokes. That’s why it blew up in popularity once binge watching became a thing.

OK, maybe it's not the reason it got canceled but it WAS still too smart for the average sitcom viewer. But this show is a played out format already done to death. Ali G, Borat, Daily Show, Krunk. And because it been done so many times the people know what's going on because the guy "Nathan" is so unbelievable dumb. It worked with Borat and Ali G because he was playing a person who's believable in being that clueless. It worked with Daily SHow and Krunk because of the "reporter thing" and because of editing. With this you can see in their eyes they figure it out quickly, because it's over the top dumb. Poo flavored Ice cream?? Who would agree to that? I mean the only positive is that it can't get any dumber than poo flavored ice cream. Can it?

Well, Jake, I don't know if I'm smarter than everyone else, as taste in entertainment doesn't really have much to do with intelligence, but you're definitely proving I'm smarter than you. I'll let you (and whoever else wants to) project onto me the reason why I think that. Literally. :) TBF I can see how you might think what you think as I used the terms "Dumb & Smart" comedy. And there is dumb and smart comedy, but the problem with this is not JUST that it's dumb. I suppose I need to explicitly SAY that's my opinion so I don't make you think I think I'm smarter than you again?? Doh! I like dumb comedy: three stooges, . . . hmm that's all I can think of at the moment 😂 Anyway . . . lets try to keep our opinions to the SHOWS, and off of each other, what do you say? Can we do that? :)

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Arrested Development. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of running gags most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Michael's narcissistic altruism, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Jane Austen literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Arrested Development truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in the Bluth catchphrase "I've made a huge mistake" which itself is a cryptic reference to Dostoevsky's Russian epic Crime and Punishment. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Mitchell Hurwitz' genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a frozen banana tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
