Dick Tracy

Joel McHale starred in an unaired 2006 American version pilot of The IT Crowd. Some clips are on YouTube

Lood

Don't know if IT Crowd can beat some of the other shows due to the pilot being a bit bumpy but I hope it wins. It really finds itself later on.

Kasra Salehi

God I forgot how poor the pilot was - great show though

Chelsea W

I fucking love this series. Not the strongest pilot, but once it gets going it's hilarious. I still quote it to my best friend (British) who introduced me to this series.

Harry Newburn

Yeah, was gonna say that this was kinda shit, but folks saying it gets better makes sense, because it seems like it should be good, and I've heard great things and seen a few funny clips, I think. Don't know, though, I have a hard time doing laugh tracks.

boshi 🇨🇺

not to mention this show is pretty transphobic, and the writer is actively anti-trans

KingSlayer

I guess I just don't get British humor. It wasn't bad but definitely did not leave an impression on me.

Harry Newburn

@boshi -- Yeah, didn't know that either. I probably won't be following this one, here or elsewhere.

Jeremy B

Laugh tracks/audience laughing is always tough to get used to. Seinfeld I think you can tune it out but every other time it's rough. Fun show regardless!

Sean Godde

I really love this show. As mentioned, the pilot is a bit rough, but it picks up quite quickly. If you do watch this, i would also suggest you watch the US pilot version of this to see not only an awful - and literally - identical 1:1 copy of the show with a a younger Joel McHale (Jeff from Community) as an extra >> just to see how sometimes having a UK "twang" can make a huge difference
