August Patreon Content Update (Patreon)
Content
Welcome back, Modders, and a special shoutout to my absolutely amazing Patreon members. Thank you for your ongoing support!
If you've made it this far, I want to congratulate you on creating some truly amazing UI mods. If you haven’t shared any screenshots in our Patreon channel yet, I’d love to see more of what you’ve been working on!
As most of you know, the last video concluded our series on UI modding, and you now have all the skills necessary to mod any of the game's menus or layouts using what you’ve learned.
With that said, we are now moving on to some slightly more advanced modding. Hold onto your hats because this is where the real fun begins! My next series will again be broken up into short, bite-sized, and easy-to-follow episodes, focusing on the following aspects of DayZ modding. Upon completion, you can expect to gain the following abilities:
Part 1 - Nuka Cola Drinks Collection with Bottle Cap Currency System (estimated around 6 episodes)
Importing and converting model assets for the Enfusion engine (including how to simulate glass and glowing textures)
Adding custom sounds and animations to our items
Creating and using custom particle effects on both our items and our players
Creating and using custom actions: For example, adding special reward buffs when the player eats, drinks, or opens your item, giving them a health boost or even a reward item
Creating and using custom in-game item crafting recipes
Running code on the client or the server independently and understanding why it's necessary
Databases: Creating and using .json configs for our mods to read and write data
Part 2 - Custom Loot Crates with Keys
Building on what we learned in the Part 1 episodes, we’ll create custom loot/cargo items with special effects. We will also add custom conditions and actions to lock/unlock them based on whether players meet certain conditions. I estimate around 5 episodes, possibly fewer.
