We spoke with a Lama and asked him a few questions that were important to us. It turns out that one of the key differences between Buddhism and other world religions is the absence of direct prohibitions against nudity.Firstly, Buddhism emerged in hot climates, where attitudes toward nudity are generally more tolerant. Secondly, Buddhists follow the principle of “do no harm.” If your actions do not harm others, you are free to act as you see fit.“You can even walk around naked here, as long as your behavior doesn't shock anyone" - the Lama said with a smile. From this perspective, Buddhism aligns more closely with our worldview - though not entirely.

so, you had sorta permission to be nude, was it too crowded? (the 'don't shock anyone' admonishment)

You can find it on the map of Irkutsk, it is located on Barrikade Street 💖

It's not crowded. We met about three groups of people on the territory of the datsan, but they were more interested in the canteen and the buuzas that are cooked there. 😋
