Chapter 618 - Leyvi's Brainwash (Patreon)

Hearing their father’s words, Leylin’s eyes brightened. For as long as he could remember, his father had always been in seclusion, and the time they spent together had always been inside their home.
This would be the first time he and his younger sisters would get to spend time with their father outside.
“Yay! Let’s go to all sorts of places with Daddy! Except alchemy places!” Leywini jumped up excitedly.
A few days earlier, while Leyvi had been busy, Anda had taken them out. Unfortunately, she had only visited alchemy-related places. Since none of the children were interested in alchemy, they had been bored to death, especially Leywini.
“Daddy! Let’s go buy souvenirs for everyone at home!” Leyana and Leyina suggested together, their voices full of excitement.
“Souvenirs for everyone? Hahaha! My cute daughters are really thoughtful. Alright! We’ll buy something for everyone while we walk around the city center. You two will be in charge of this task. The budget for each person will be a thousand low-grade spirit stones. How does that sound?” Leyvi said, happy to entertain them.
For a Qi Refining Realm cultivator, possessing a thousand low-grade spirit stones was already considered a luxury. For a Foundation Building Realm cultivator, the same amount was more than enough to live and cultivate comfortably for several months.
To the current Leyvi, however, a thousand low-grade spirit stones was nothing more than pocket change.
To the children, though, the amount still felt enormous, especially since it was only meant for souvenirs.
“Really, Daddy? Isn’t a thousand a lot of money? If we multiply it by everyone, it becomes so much more. Are we really allowed to spend that much on our own?” Leyana asked. Leyina nodded firmly beside her.
Although the Leyan Family was extremely wealthy, the children never received large amounts of money to spend freely. The pocket money they were given was only enough to buy some candy and snacks.
This was a rule Anda had set so the children would not grow up overly spoiled or become arrogant young masters and young ladies outside the home.
It was enough for them to enjoy their family’s wealth while at home. There was no need to flaunt it in public.
“Your mother is a City Lord. She has to handle far larger amounts of money than this. If you two can learn to do this properly, you’ll be able to help her a lot in the future,” Leyvi said with a smile.
“Really? Will Mommy praise us?” Leyana and Leyina asked, looking even more excited.
“You two are her cute daughters. She’ll praise you no matter what. But if you handle this properly, she’ll give you extra praise,” Leyvi told them.
“Yay! Yay! Extra praise! Don’t worry, Daddy. We’ll make sure everyone at home receives a thousand low-grade spirit stones worth of souvenirs!” the twins said, full of energy.
“Daddy, Daddy… what about Wini?” Leywini tugged on Leyvi’s jacket with both hands and looked up at him with wide, watery eyes. Her voice became small and soft. “Does Wini get one thousand spirit stones too? Wini also wants to buy nice things… please?”
Anda, who was watching from nearby, had to press her lips together to hold back laughter. The attempt was cute, but Leywini still had a long way to go when it came to emotional manipulation.
“Those are souvenir funds for the family back home. You’re here with Daddy right now. Why would you need money?” Leyvi asked, raising an eyebrow.
He dealt with Anda’s schemes all the time, so he saw through the childish act at once.
“But… but… Wini really wants to buy things too…” she clung a little tighter to his jacket and made her expression even more pitiful.
“Daddy already said it. Wini is here with Daddy, so you don’t need the money. Whatever you want to buy, just tell me. I’ll buy it for you as long as I can afford it,” Leyvi promised with a gentle smile as he patted her head.
“Anything? Really?” Leywini’s eyes lit up instantly. “Yay! Yay! Daddy is the best!” She jumped up and down with pure joy. This was the first time she had ever been told she could buy whatever she wanted, and her mind was already racing with possibilities.
The other children also broke into bright smiles and cheerful voices.
“Really, Daddy? We can choose too?”
“I already know what I want!”
“Can we look at everything first?”
They gathered around him, clearly excited by the unexpected freedom.
“You kids too. Just tell Daddy what you want,” Leyvi confirmed with a laugh.
Anda chuckled quietly to herself. She had set the strict rule controlling the children’s spending money because she knew Leyvi disliked arrogant young masters and young ladies.
No one was allowed to secretly give them extra money to spend outside beyond what was permitted. Money was, after all, one of the easiest things that could make people arrogant.
And now their father was about to let them spend freely. Wasn’t he spoiling them a little too much?
“Just this once,” Leyvi sent her a quiet sound transmission, his tone warm and a little helpless. “I know what you’re thinking. Let them enjoy it today.”
“Fine, fine. Just this once,” Anda replied in the same private channel, her voice carrying clear amusement. “But don’t blame me later if they start acting like little arrogant masters and ladies. That part will be entirely your fault.”
Leyvi smiled. A plan just came up to him.
...
Over the next few days, the six of them encountered many arrogant young masters and young ladies while shopping around the city center.
As the largest city on Cloud Continent, Ultima City was home to numerous top-tier families, each with several Soul Formation Realm powerhouses among their ranks.
These families controlled large industries within the city and enjoyed high status.
Having stood at the top for so long, it was inevitable that many of their descendants grew up extremely spoiled and intoxicated by their own power and position. They swaggered through the streets with their underlings, looking down on anyone who appeared less wealthy or less refined.
Even when Leyvi’s group did nothing to provoke them, the combination of his heavy spending and simple, country-bumpkin appearance was enough to draw their scornful attention.
They treated the family like an amusing spectacle, sending low-level followers to mock, block paths, or make loud, disrespectful comments while the young masters themselves watched from a safe distance and laughed.
No matter how influential they were, they still did not dare cross the line into open violence inside the city. The Protector Headquarters was located here, after all. That fact only made their harassment more irritating, since they stayed just within the bounds of what they could get away with.
On the fourth day of their shopping spree, Leyvi, Anda, and the children visited a popular Beast Taming Exclusive Shop. There, Leyvi purchased various beast-taming artifacts, accessories, manuals, and other items for Leylin, who wanted to become a beast tamer.
He did not buy them only for Leylin. Leyvi also purchased several basic sets for his other children.
Even if the others would not become full-time beast tamers like Leylin in the future, he still believed it would be beneficial for each of them to have at least one Spirit Beast that could bond and grow alongside them.
With his abilities, helping them tame a demonic beast would be a simple matter.
Just like the previous days, however, another group of people arrived and began bothering them again, creating constant noise and obstruction while they tried to choose and pay for their items.
After they finally left the shop, Leywini could no longer hold back her frustration.
“Daddy! Why do you keep putting up with them?!” Her voice rose sharply as she punched the air with both fists. “Those stupid young masters follow us every single day and send their useless underlings to harass us! Wini hates them so much! How dare they talk so rudely to Daddy and treat us like this? You should beat them into a pulp until they can’t walk straight anymore!”
Her small face was flushed with anger, and her eyes shone with clear indignation on her father’s behalf.
“Yes, Daddy… we all don’t like them. This is the first time we get to have fun with you outside, but they keep ruining the mood,” Leyana and Leyina also complained.
Leylin remained quiet, simply watching to see what his father would do. Still, he shared the same feelings as his sisters.
“Oh? Wini finally can’t stand it anymore? You held it in better than I expected. Daddy thought you were much less patient,” Leyvi said in a teasing tone.
“Mommy told Wini to be a good girl and not cause trouble for Daddy when we’re away from home, that’s why Wini tried so hard to be good. But now Wini really can’t hold it in anymore! Can’t Daddy beat them up? Wini wants to see Daddy’s might,” she asked with an innocent expression.
Leyvi chuckled inwardly. It seemed this daughter of his was still a little lawless at heart.
Although he had also grown tired of the constant harassment over the past few days, he was grateful to those young masters for one thing. They had helped awaken a strong dislike in his children toward arrogant young masters and young ladies.
He could see clearly that the children truly hated that type of person now. He had deliberately chosen not to act for this very reason. This way, they would be far less likely to turn out the same.
“They are the descendants of big families here. In Bara City, you children have the same young master and young lady status as them. Sigh… Daddy is worried that you four might turn out like them in the future…” Leyvi said, pretending to be concerned for their future.
The children’s faces went pale with genuine horror.
“No, Daddy! Never! We will never become like them!” The twins shook their heads so hard their hair swayed. Their voices trembled with real fear. “We don’t want people to look at us the way we look at those people! We don’t want to be hated by everyone!”
“Yes! Why would we ever turn out like them? They’re the worst! I want to beat people like them until they cry! So annoying!” Leywini raised both small fists, her face flushed with strong emotion.
Leyvi smiled quietly to himself. The disgust in their eyes and the force in their voices told him everything he needed to know. The lesson had landed perfectly. Now all of his children truly disliked arrogant young masters and young ladies. Mission accomplished.
Anda chuckled under her breath at the scene. Her husband had successfully brainwashed the kids, and the results were even better than expected.
“That said, we really can’t let them bother us anymore,” Leyvi said.
“Should we lure them out of the city?” Anda’s eyes sparkled with mischief.
Leyvi rolled his eyes. This panda. Can’t you think of something other than that?
He was already considering using his newly made connections to scare these people. Scare them so thoroughly that their families would behave for several generations.
