Leyvi was now acquainted with all twelve Protectors, yet not all of them could truly be considered connections.

Only Protector Gandolf, Protector Sherlock, and Protector Jade currently fell into that category. He felt confident that if he asked them for help, they would be willing to assist.

He also had a feeling that Protector Newton might help if asked, given how friendly the man had been, but the two of them had not exchanged enough words for Leyvi to be completely certain.

Among the three clear connections, Jade was obviously the most suitable choice for the current situation. She lived in this city, after all.

Leyvi immediately sent her a message asking when she would be free. She might be busy at the moment and not see it right away, so for the time being they continued visiting more places around the city.

“Husband, can’t you do something to get closer to Protector Jade? I heard she’s still single,” Anda suddenly said through sound transmission. Conversations like this could not be heard by the children. They were still too innocent for such topics.

Leyvi’s mouth twitched when he heard the suggestion, though it did not surprise him in the least. This was Anda, after all. It would have been strange if she had not tried something. Her matchmaking radar had probably reactivated after a full decade of relative quiet.

The problem was the target itself. Aren’t you being a little too ambitious, Anda? That is one of the continent’s Protectors. Do you want to give me a heart attack?

Anda only smiled at her husband with clear mischief in her eyes.

Earlier, she had casually asked around the city about the most popular single woman in Ultima City. To her surprise, nearly everyone had given the same answer: Protector Jade.

She had then gathered a bit more information. The good news was that Jade checked every box Anda considered necessary for her next target. The fact that the woman was over three thousand years old did not matter to her at all.

That said, this particular target came with an extremely high level of difficulty. Unlike Caterina, Jade probably did not have any obvious weaknesses that could be easily exploited.

The only real chance was to somehow convince Leyvi to get closer to Jade using the very small connection they had formed during the recent meeting. At the very least, the two of them should already know each other by name.

The problem was that there was almost no chance he would ever agree to it. Without his own initiative to draw closer, the possibility of them ending up together was close to zero.

Anda sighed quietly to herself. The higher she raised her standards, the more the difficulty increased in an almost exponential way. Caterina had truly been her magnum opus.

If things continued like this, it might be a very long time before another sister joined the Leyan Family. Should she consider lowering her standards again?

“Don’t you think a woman of her status and power would be a great addition to our family? Just think about the possibilities,” Anda tried once more, clearly not ready to give up.

Who knew? Maybe her persuasion would somehow work by some miracle.

Leyvi rolled his eyes. Yes, she would be a great addition. For you, obviously. You just want her help in conquering the world.

“No, no. Let me tell you something. For a coincidental reason, she already considers herself my big sister. It would be inappropriate to pursue that kind of relationship with her. Meaning your target this time is invalid,” Leyvi rejected firmly, shutting down the attempt.

Anda blinked. Big sister? Was this a new kind of excuse he had come up with?

“There’s nothing inappropriate about it as long as she isn’t your real sister. After you make her your woman, she can still act as your big sister too. The two things don’t clash at all,” Anda continued trying.

Just as Leyvi was about to counter her argument again, a person suddenly appeared right beside him, startling both him and Anda.

“Leyvi, your Big Sister Jade is here!” a happy voice announced.

“Sister… Jade? What are you doing here?” Leyvi asked in surprise as he turned to look at the woman. He had not recognized her until she spoke.

Jade was wearing a more casual dress, and her hair was left loose. She looked noticeably younger than she had during the Protector meeting, no longer carrying the middle-aged appearance she had shown before.

She had a pair of beautiful jade-colored eyes. Anyone who knew her name would naturally assume she had been named after the color of those eyes.

Leyvi was confused. He had only sent her the message a few minutes ago. How had she arrived so quickly?

Meanwhile, Anda was completely dumbfounded. What had she just called herself? Big Sister Jade? So it had not been an excuse Leyvi made up? It was real?

“Hehe. After I received your message, I immediately changed clothes and sneaked out of my office. With my means, finding you wasn’t that difficult,” Jade said.

Leyvi became the dumbfounded one this time. Sneaked out? You mean you actually still have work right now? Is this really okay? It won’t cause problems, will it?

“These four adorable children must be yours, right?” Jade asked.

She was quite impressed. It was very rare for cultivators to have several children so close in age. Even two siblings close in age was already uncommon. Four was far rarer.

Jade chuckled quietly to herself. No wonder his seed was in such high demand over there.

“Uh, yes. They are mine,” Leyvi replied. He was still worried that her absence might create trouble.

“Don’t worry. This isn’t like the past. And it’s not as if I’m going to be missing for months,” Jade chuckled, clearly knowing what he was thinking.

“Hello, children. I’m your father’s big sister. That means I’m your big aunt. You can call me Aunt Jade,” she then introduced herself to the children.

This time it was the children’s turn to look dumbfounded. Daddy has a big sister? Since when? Why has nobody ever told us?

Although they felt doubtful, the four children still called her Aunt Jade respectfully and introduced themselves the way they had been taught.

“Oh my, they are so polite. You taught your children well, Leyvi,” Jade praised, clearly taking a liking to them.

“Well, I didn’t really do much. My wives taught them well. All the credit goes to them,” Leyvi replied.

Jade then turned toward Anda.

“You must be the legendary Anda, the woman behind Leyvi’s success,” she said with a smile.

Usually Anda would put on an act right away, but this time she had a strong intuition that the woman in front of her could see through her easily. It felt similar to the time she and Leyvi had met Senior Raisho.

Back then, every attempt at trickery had been seen through instantly.

With Senior Raisho, it had happened because the difference in their realms was incredibly vast. Senior Raisho had already reached the realm of the gods, a true Divinity.

With the woman standing before her now, however, Anda felt that it had something to do with a special ability, whether learned or innate. There was no way to know what that ability was unless the other party chose to reveal it.

Facing someone like this, it was better not to act or lie at all.

“That’s not true. I wouldn’t call myself legendary yet… and I also wouldn’t consider my husband a success yet. However, it is true that I am the woman behind him. Always. From the beginning, until forever,” Anda replied truthfully from the bottom of her heart.

Jade’s eyes widened for a brief moment before returning to normal.

“Oh? Until forever? Not until the end?” she asked, her smile still in place.

“We plan to attain Divinity, so of course it is until forever,” Anda replied as if it were a simple matter of fact.

“Divinity? You want to reach the level of that Senior Raisho?” Jade’s eyes widened slightly, genuine disbelief clear in her voice. “Aren’t you being far too ambitious, young madam? Do you even understand what you are saying?”

She could tell that this panda lady was extraordinary, yet the goal still felt completely unrealistic.

She knew that the position of their world within the galaxy made it impossible for anyone to reach that godlike level. The very structure of the galaxy itself limited the highest realm cultivators here could achieve. The only way around that hard limit was if the galaxy evolved to a higher stage entirely. That was what Senior Raisho had once revealed to them.

For such an evolution to occur, the entire galaxy needed to become prosperous and overflowing with life energy. Stars, worlds, and living beings would all have to flourish together on a scale that was almost impossible to imagine.

Unfortunately, that process would take millions upon millions of years, perhaps even billions. It was a transformation that would not happen until long after every one of them had turned to dust.

Anda smiled. “I want to be with my husband forever. I am not going to give up that easily.”

Jade did not know what to say. The quiet confidence in those words felt completely out of this world.

“Hehe. You really love your husband, huh? You remind me of Fiona,” Jade said, returning to her usual tone.

Anda blinked. Is she comparing me to that widow Formation Queen?

Then she shook her head inwardly.

We are not the same at all.

If Leyvi died, I would not simply mourn. I would tear the world apart if necessary. I would burn the heavens, overturn the earth, and even destroy the universe itself if that was the price required to bring him back to life.

I would do whatever it took, without hesitation or regret. I would never accept his death and spend the rest of my existence in quiet grief.

If the universe refused to allow me to stay with Leyvi forever, then it had no right to continue existing.

Thankfully, Anda kept that thought locked firmly inside her heart. If she had spoken even a fraction of it aloud, Jade would have been extremely terrified.

Guto

Here’s an idea for a side story: someone reincarnates from a timeline where Leyvi dies and Anda destroys the world, and the story focuses on their bewilderment at the difference between a reality with Leyvi and one without him.

"For such an evolution to occur, the entire galaxy needed to become prosperous and overflowing with life energy." Sounds like Leyvi has his work cut out for him, sounds like he'll need more wives.

That would be pretty interesting, as long as it's not too long. It reminds me of what Leyvi said to Lin Wei about looking down on him if he reaches the top alone, and how that Exalted Progenitor Divine Emperor Supreme Ruler (was that the title?) noticed a shift in fate (or something like that).
