The sudden burst of King Level aura was so intense that it swept across everything within a five-thousand-kilometer radius like an invisible tidal wave.

Countless wild animals and weaker demonic beasts collapsed on the spot, knocked unconscious by the sheer pressure. Those that remained conscious trembled violently, their bodies locked in place by pure, overwhelming fear. Many could not even draw a proper breath.

Birds flying high in the sky dropped from the air almost simultaneously, falling to their deaths without any chance to resist.

Only the truly strong ones managed to endure and remain standing under such might.

Those still able to move fled without a second thought, abandoning their territories in blind terror.

Even powerful demonic plants tore themselves free from the earth and fled for their lives, roots dragging behind them as they sought any place free of that crushing presence.

The moment the overwhelming aura erupted and swept through the region, it immediately alerted Leyvi’s group.

Leyvi, Jade, and the female monkey all snapped their heads toward the source of the aura in shock. Stripey, unable to withstand even a fraction of it, simply fainted where he stood.

“Impossible! Where did this King Level demonic beast come from? How can it evolve so fast?” Jade exclaimed, nearly shouting.

Under normal circumstances, the evolution from General Level to King Level took a considerable amount of time. The process was gradual enough that the Protectors usually had a clear window to locate the evolving beast and deal with it before it fully matured. She had personally handled several such cases over the centuries.

But this… this was completely different. She had never witnessed an evolution that happened with such terrifying speed. Something unnatural had to be driving it.

BOOM!

A massive wave of energy exploded outward from the king cobra. Its body convulsed violently as it grew even larger from its already enormous size, stretching well beyond a hundred meters in length. Muscles shifted and expanded beneath the surface with visible force.

Its scales rippled, then cracked, then split apart as thicker, darker ones pushed through from beneath. The old skin fell away in large shreds, dissolving into black mist before it could even touch the ground.

Its aura erupted once more, denser and more oppressive than before.

The sky darkened rapidly. Thick clouds gathered from nowhere, swirling in a wide vortex around the cobra as if drawn by its presence alone. Lightning flashed repeatedly in the distance, illuminating the growing storm. The ground beneath the beast trembled, cracks spreading outward in every direction.

BOOM!

Another wave of energy surged outward.

The cobra’s length exploded, rapidly stretching past a thousand meters and still growing. Its body thickened until it rivaled a mountain range in sheer bulk, each individual scale the size of a house. The massive form blotted out large portions of the sky as it continued to expand.

The new scales that emerged were a deep iridescent purple-black, perfectly smooth and highly reflective. When light struck them at certain angles, they shimmered with shifting patterns that resembled swirling venom, giving the entire body an almost liquid, dangerous sheen.

As it rose further into the sky, its body coiled and twisted like a living storm. The coils layered over one another, completely blocking out the sun and plunging the land below into deep, unnatural shadow.

Leyvi’s eyes widened as he witnessed the transformation.

Lapin had never shown him anything like this, so he had not realized that a King Level demonic beast could grow to such an overwhelming size. Looking at it now felt less like facing a creature and more like standing before a moving mountain of pure power. The sheer scale alone was enough to make his instincts scream danger.

But what truly caught his attention and made his blood run cold was the snake’s eyes.

“Sister Jade, not good! Look at the eyes! It’s a crazed one! We need to run!” Leyvi warned impatiently, urgency sharp in his voice. He quickly gathered the fainted Stripey and sent him into the spirit beast bag without hesitation.

Jade frowned as she stared at the gigantic figure ahead.

She forced herself to think clearly despite the pressure. Running was not a clean solution. Once a crazed demonic beast locked onto a human, it almost never stopped the pursuit, with only extremely rare exceptions. At this size and power, the path of that chase would leave a trail of devastation across the region.

Fighting it alone carried its own heavy risks. At the same level, demonic beasts usually held a clear advantage in raw strength, durability, and relentless aggression. The chance of her losing, or at least being forced into a costly battle, was not small.

Not to mention, ever since the continent had become peaceful under the Protectors’ rule, she had not been in a real fight for a long time. There was no doubt that she was already rusty. Her combat instincts had dulled, and she could feel it.

Still, Jade believed the best course of action right now was to buy time.

Only the security Protectors could defeat something of this level as quickly as possible. She might not be able to defeat it herself, but she could stall long enough for one of them to arrive. That was the most reliable path available.

Right now, the closest should be Voltroze, unless he happened to be on the far eastern end of the Central Region.

Voltroze already possessed a spirit artifact that could detect the aura of a King Level demonic beast over an extremely long distance, but the process still took time. He would not be alerted by it immediately.

Thankfully, they now had better communication devices.

Jade immediately took out her modified array communication device, transmitted her thoughts into it, and sent the urgent message to Voltroze.

“Leyvi, I’ll hold this snake for now. You run away first.” Jade ordered, her tone leaving little room for argument.

With Leyvi’s current strength, she had no doubt he could protect himself even if a few random General Level demonic beasts targeted him along the way.

“What about you?” Leyvi frowned. He did not like the idea of leaving Jade here alone to face something of this scale.

“Don’t worry. I’m only stalling for time until Voltroze comes. That’s all.” Jade reassured him, meeting his eyes steadily.

“Stalling? But that would still take hours! You’re going to face it alone for that long?” Leyvi argued, clearly unwilling to accept the plan so easily.

Jade’s expression remained calm. “I can handle the time. You need to get clear of this place.”

At this moment, the king cobra was almost finished with its body transformation.

HISSSSSSS!

It let out a deep, resonant hiss that rolled outward like a physical force. The air itself vibrated under the sound, strong enough to shatter the eardrums of many demonic beasts in the surrounding area. Several of the unconscious ones began bleeding from their ears, the pressure of the hiss alone too much for their already weakened bodies.

The sound lingered, heavy and oppressive, as if the very sky was warning everything nearby of what had just been born.

However, that was not the worst of it.

Right after the deafening hiss, every scale on the cobra’s body opened in a cascading sequence that began at its head and raced all the way to its tail. From the gaps beneath the scales, venom sprayed outward in massive volumes, thick and hissing as it filled the air.

Any living being that came into contact with the venom, whether plant or animal, melted into liquid almost instantly. The demonic beasts that had fainted earlier now died where they lay, their bodies dissolving into formless pools. The sounds of mass death spread outward in a continuous, sickening wave.

Even rocks and the ground itself began to decay the moment the venom touched them, crumbling and blackening as if the land were being eaten away from the surface down.

Everything within the cobra’s immediate vicinity quickly turned into a land of death. Nothing survived as the venom continued to spread, leaving only a spreading wasteland in its wake.

Jade frowned deeply.

She had to act now. The king cobra’s bloodline power was far more destructive and devastating than she had first estimated. This was not simple poison. It was a domain of pure annihilation that would continue expanding with every movement the beast made.

A bloodline ability capable of creating such a domain was simply too troublesome. Wherever this creature went, only death would follow. If she allowed it to finish its transformation completely, restraining it would become significantly harder, and the damage left behind would be far greater.

Jade acted with clear resolve.

With a single thought, the flight barrier formed a small opening. She allowed the female monkey to enter, which only confused the creature further.

The next moment, Jade made a deliberate pushing gesture. The flight barrier shot away at blinding speed, carrying everyone inside far from the area and leaving only Jade behind.

It happened so quickly that Leyvi had no time to react. Before he could even open his mouth to protest, he was already a great distance away, and the flight barrier showed no sign of slowing down.

After sending Leyvi away, Jade did not waste any time. She unleashed her power at once. Blinding light flooded the region as she materialized a Soul Body no smaller than the King Level snake itself.

At the same time, the Soul Body transformed from a massive avatar of pure energy into a towering ice sculpture that resembled Jade in every detail. The surface of the ice was smooth yet alive with shifting frost patterns, and the entire form radiated a deep, bone-chilling cold.

Unlike the Soul Bodies of Nascent Soul and Soul Formation cultivators, which remained only energy avatars, a Soul Transformation Realm cultivator could truly become one with their Soul Body. The result was lifelike in every way.

The giant ice sculpture moved and shifted with natural fluidity. Even its facial expressions carried the same calm intensity as the real Jade, as if a living goddess of winter had taken form.

Immediately, the temperature across the surrounding region plummeted. Water in every direction froze solid within moments. Thick cold mist filled the atmosphere, and heavy snow began falling from a sky that had been clear only moments before. The very air itself seemed to crystallize under her presence.

To any ordinary person, she would have looked like a true goddess of snow and ice.

At that moment, the king cobra finally finished its transformation and lunged straight at Jade, carrying its Venom Domain with it.

“Frozen World,” she spoke.

A tsunami of ice rose from the ground and surged toward the incoming king cobra. The wall of frost loomed even over the mountain-sized snake, its surface gleaming with deadly clarity.

The king cobra tried to change direction to its right, but another massive wave of ice was already rising from that side as well. A third wave closed in from behind, sealing every possible escape route.

It was too late to turn back.

The three tsunamis of ice crashed down onto the king cobra at once, swallowing it completely. The Venom Domain froze mid-spread, locked in place as solid frost. Layer upon layer of ice piled over the enormous body until nothing remained visible except a vast, silent glacier.

Within moments, a radius of more than ten kilometers had turned into a world of pure ice.

The King Level demonic king cobra now stood completely sealed beneath the power of Ice Goddess Jade.

“Now let’s wait for Voltroze. Hopefully he can arrive before I run out of energy.” Jade sighed. The Ice Goddess exhaled a soft stream of cold smoke.

She glanced in the direction Leyvi had been sent, hoping he would not be stubborn enough to turn back.

Then a frown formed on her face.

Someone had done this deliberately. An evolution this fast, paired with an immediate descent into the Red Eye Craze, could not have occurred naturally.
