Hello everyone!

So, last week I put up the call to recruit playtesters, and I was really glad to see that a good amount of people reached out! If you're one of the people who did, thanks again - your work is very much appreciated.

In fact, I can already tell that it has paid off. In just a few days, the playtesters found a... frankly embarrassing amount of bugs! Most were new, introduced by the last handful of tweaks and additions, but a few of them have been lingering in the code for a while now, and now that they have been properly reported, I was able to track them down and squash them! I'm fairly optimistic that if we can keep up this pace, future releases will be much more stable. Every bug found by one of our playtesters is one less bug that could ruin someone's first experience with the game (and one less bug to annoy returning players).

Other than feverishly fixing bugs, I've been finishing up the final touches of Verity's Receiving scene, and unless I'm forgetting something, I'm pretty sure it's at 100% completion now. Which means that I can finally move on to the second scene that is planned for this update: the "Giving" scene. Unfortunately I don't have anything to say about it that I haven't already said in previous posts, but hopefully I'll have some news to share next week.

Before then, I'll share what I've been up to regarding progress with the Receiving scene, for anyone who's interested.

💅 Cosmetics & Off-hand actions

A lot of the workload that came with this new scene was making Verity's clothing and tattoo assets for the new pose. Those are all finally done (with the exception of a couple that I noticed were missing as I took screenshots for this post - but they're easy enough to make at least).

There were also the hand assets for the "pinch own nipple" off-hand action, which were surprisingly hard to align because the player's nipples' positions vary according to breast size, so it was pretty tricky to make everything animate correctly on screen.

💦 Wetness Overlays

There's also one of the things that took the longest to do: wetness overlays. Because you can now squirt on Verity as part of the climax sequence for the Receiving scene (and the kissing scene if you have a vagina), I wanted Verity to become visually wet, just like the existing "cum layers" visuals for penis-exclusive scenes. That meant that I had to create wetness overlays for every existing scene, so that the visuals persist across scenes and even into free roam.

This was a lot of work - but not only will these overlays be used by the Giving scene, I can also reuse them for other purposes. For instance, I can implement a system that detects if a Love Interest is at the lake, or in the showers, and automatically apply wetness layers to them to make them visually wet. Or I can develop a system that uses them to visually build up sweat if you're in a sex scene for long enough. So it was heavily front-loaded, but I'll definitely be able to reuse these assets for other things.

✨ Unique Sequences

And finally, I also expanded the options of vagina-having characters with two unique sequences: the "squirt in mouth" sequence, and the "cleanup" sequence.

They both have existing penis-exclusive counterparts: when you choose to cum in Verity's mouth after she has experience with giving you blowjobs, the climax sequence plays an animation where you deepthroat her. The "squirt in mouth" sequence is the vagina-exclusive equivalent: the MC presses her face against their vagina and squirts, making Verity swallow it. There's even a dedicated animation branch for when you have the "Abundance" perk.

The "cleanup" sequence happens after sex: if the MC's vagina is dirty in the post-sex dialogue, they can ask Verity to lick it clean, which also plays an animation.

🛠️ Other tweaks & additions

This post is getting a bit long, so I'll rapid-fire a few other additions and QoL tweaks:

"Alter Self" Sex Hub Integration: If the player has the Alter Self spell, a new "Swap Genitals" button appears directly in the sex scene picker screen. This allows you to swap genitals mid-scene with a quick casting narration, without needing to interrupt the action and return to your dorm.

Spontaneous Position Switching Update: LIs can no longer ask to switch between penis-exclusive and vagina-exclusive positions unless the player has the Alter Self spell. If the player does have the spell and an incompatible switch is rolled, a quick narration plays indicating the MC quick-casted the spell before switching.

Abundance Perk Toggle: Added a new option to allow players to skip the bukkake-themed visuals/narrations of the Abundance perk while keeping its mechanical benefits.
