Hi, it’s Natsume Benkei!
[Summer Vacation Special] A series of my first 10 works—and here’s the final installment, No. 10!
Title: M's Tits Are All Mine To Grope! 2
Release Date: March 2021
I hadn’t planned on drawing a sequel to this work.
However, the publisher handling the e-book edition told me, “We can’t release the digital version unless this work has a few more pages!” so I ended up drawing it on short notice.
And, as expected, the results weren’t very good.
After all, it was a sequel to a work whose predecessor had received mixed reviews.
As it turns out, drawing a work for such “selfish reasons” just doesn’t work.
Readers are sharp.
That said, I, Natsume Benkei, personally think I managed to create something decent, so I’m content with it as it is.
A short while after releasing this work, I quit my job and became a full-time artist.
Naturally, drawing doujinshi was more fun than drawing at the office.
Unlike my corporate job, where I had to draw whatever I was told to, with doujinshi I could draw whatever I wanted, however I wanted.
It seems I really did enjoy drawing illustrations and manga as part of my doujin activities.
Since I’d spent long stretches of my life unemployed up to that point, I no longer felt any anxiety about quitting my job.
If anything, it felt more like I was simply returning to a lifestyle I was familiar with.
Besides, by this point, my doujin sales had stabilized to a certain extent compared to the past.
Before I knew it, I was earning more from doujin work than I had from my salary at the company.
Up until then, I’d treated my doujin activities as a sort of “side gig” separate from my main job, but having reached this point, I decided to take doujin work seriously and quit my job to become a full-time artist.
Once I became a full-time artist, the range of things I could do expanded dramatically.
I tried drastically changing my art style, started updating my support site in earnest, hired assistants, and created doujinshi…
I was finally able to try all sorts of things I hadn’t had time for during my days as a company employee.
And from the time I went full-time until now, I’ve somehow managed to keep my doujin activities going.
Looking back on my early works now, I realize once again that
if my works hadn’t sold in the beginning, I probably would have quit, and even when I made my comeback, if there hadn’t been any response, I think I would have quietly ended my activities right then and there.
Every time I released a work, there were people who bought it and gave me feedback, and after I started my support site, I even gained people who support me every month.
If you’ve read this far, I think you’ll understand:
The reason Natsume Benkei is still able to continue my doujin activities today is thanks to you—the very person reading this right now!
Thank you so, so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
…This was supposed to be a feature looking back on my works, but it ended up turning into a personal reflection on Natsume Benkei himself.
With this 10th work, all the works I’ve released so far are now available on the support site!
With plans of 3,000 yen or more, you can read all of my works—from the early ones released this time to past works and the latest releases—totaling over 1,500 pages!
I’ll also continue updating the works currently being serialized!
Thank you so much for sticking with me through 14 consecutive days of updates! (To be precise, I’ll be updating again tomorrow as well.)
It was a fun project where I got to look back on my older works and remember all sorts of things, like, “Oh, I was thinking about this back then!”
I’ll keep drawing manga so you can continue to enjoy Natsume Benkei’s works!
Thank you as always for your support!
See you next time!
