Last Of Us : Bloaters. I'm disappointed in your Horror game knowledge Taylor

TKOhhh

It’s cooked 😭😭

This episode PISSED ME OFF when I first watched it as a kid. Cell did the equivalent to a last second game winning shot that never should’ve gone in. Also there’s a really cool parallel that many notice here too

So Toriyama is notorious for having to pivot and improvise a lot in this saga due to editors but I actually believe he knew how he wanted his arcs to end quite early on. I mention this because this whole arc begins with Goku telling everyone about his “new ability to teleport”. Then when he had to pivot from Gero and 19. Some believe Toriyama originally intended for the forecasted future by trunks to still come true due to Gohan and bulma being sent away (ie the 2 people who survived in trunks future) while everyone else stayed to fight. After his editors told him to pivot from Gero, we had 17 and 18 BUT in this timeline 16. In the manga Gero tells them not to activate 16 if they don’t want the world destroyed (alluding to the bomb). I think Toriyama was originally gonna have Goku teleport 16 away and have Gohan beat 17 and 18. After having to pivot I think he still liked that conclusion enough to stay with it and needed to find a way to make it happen with cell too I could go way more in depth surrounding this theory based on lines in the manga but this is already too long for a patreon comment….

This is super cool. I (t) didn’t even know that.

So a few things I do want to point out. 1. This new version of Cell is what the games call, Super Perfect Cell. Which isn't wrong, but still 2. During Vegeta's assult in Super Perfect Cell, I was reminded of DBZ Kakarot's interpretation of it, which was way better than this. Because it actually showed Vegeta really did care for Trunks. 3. They really made Goku's sacrifice a joke. It really felt like a slap to the face lol

Shadowmist909

Cell's self destruction was truly the worst case scenario. Knowing that he would have regenerated anyways? What a fearsome turn of events that would have been. Goku's a real hero for sacrificing himself with instant transmission.

Vegeta's Ki blast spam is like a meme thanks to the anime but IIRC in the manga ki blast spamming was quite rare from people and impressive - for lack of a better word. So it was a big deal for goku to do it against cell and for vegeta to have it as a special move

I recommend a video to watch but it spoils two things in next Arc. It perfectly explains a misconception about Gohan Vs. Cell

DreBone1986

It's not that he just has Goku cells but Goku's fight knowledge/gift of seeing a person's technique once and copying it, it's way back in dragon ball where he learned the Kamehameha after seeing Roshi do it once. That's a skill unique to Goku alone
