There was a whole filler arc here with Garlic Jr taking over the lookout. A lot of people hate it, but it was an arc where Piccolo and Gohan were the big heroes since Goku and Vegeta were both off-planet the whole time, and it was the most Kami ever did in DBZ, so it has some defenders. TFS are among the haters, so they pulled a fast 1 by making it look like they would do the Garlic Jr. Saga while in fact they were just making an episode all about Krillin's bad choice in girlfriends where they dispose of Garlic Jr. and his entire plot in a post-credits scene.

I'm surprised neither of you seemingly caught the subtitles around 9:40 where she's talking about the reservations at L'Anus Serre, which, I never caught before myself because I never watch with subtitles, however, I did look it up, it translates to "The Tight Anus" and thus when she said "they're very uptight" it's a multilingual pun with English and French... also, there's a LOT of end-of-episode scenes this season... just as a heads up.

They watched it - movie version

Definitely should check out the abridged movies. Some of their best material is in the movies and some of the jokes cross over with the series.

TKOhhh

any specific time to watch them? Or just where they would be in the series?

TKOhhh

we are TERRIBLE with other language puns!

Michelle Hollamon

Fair, but I just saw it in the subtitles and was just surprised neither of you reacted to the fact that it was "L'Anus," normally you two would go and make several jokes on the fact that "Anus" is in the subtitles, French or not. Edit: I'm not mad, or disappointed btw, I'm just... surprised I guess.

Hmm I think you shouldn’t lose too much if you watch them whenever, they are mostly fairly self contained. I would probably watch the history of Trunks special soon because the jokes there often tie into the cell arc. Also, off the top of my head I know that a joke from the first cooler movie shows up in like episode 35 or 36 so I would look out for that too. :)

Ooh. I forgot about the Garlic JR filler arc. I'll see about checking it out so I can enjoy this abridged section more.

IRS agent Maron is such a major improvement over the filler. That's what Krillin gets for using a magical dragon for fraud.
