Holy shit! Literally best timing! I just took my dinner out of the oven! Let's fucking GO!!!

Murdkips

Been a wild ride so far bitter sweet to finally catch up.

Nick

So the anime covers up to Volume 14, Sacred Kingdom covered some other volumes of course since it took place in the middle there. Only Volumes 15 & 16 are released out of the planned 18. Originally the author was going to end it at Volume 17, but decided to add another Volume to finish out the story. This was not the originally planned ending though to my understanding, the author is ending it early to my recollection due to a combination of burnout/loss of interest as well as a frustration over piracy. Every anime season has covered 3 volumes so if only 4 volumes are left in total Madhouse might be waiting until it's fully complete.

Joined your Patreon for the Slime reactions, but in the meantime I binged all of Overlord with you. What a ride! Thanks for the great reactions!

Shadowmist909

What a finale. Climb vs Ainz to me was the author extinguishing any embers of hope of this being a classic hero's tale. But seeing everything come full circle with all Climb's learned and all of Renner's scheming was pretty satisfying to me. Bonus points to her for getting a full on princess musical moment at the end. It was fun watching TKOhhh react to this show! I hope we get more of this story eventually.

Cerulean Spectre

magnificent reaction renner became a imp i think and renner is a yandere along with albedo is a yandere too

Micah Allen Macoy

Loved this ride with you guys!! Looking forward to more!!

What's interesting is that, technically, there might be enough content for another season since the anime only covers up to volume 14, so they could do volumes 15 and 16, but they could also include a bunch of the cut content from the previous volumes in a hypothetical season 5. Iirc one of the reasons there isn't a season 5 yet is because they were waiting for the author to do volume 17, which would be the final volume for the series. I could be wrong and misremembering that, though.

Still watching till the end! Its been a lot of fun so far and looking forward to continuing with the new shows!

GargantuanWitch

What a journey. We still need answers about the Platinum Dragon Lord, Tsa. And about the bunch called Black Scriptures who put Shallterar under mind control, who work for the Slane Theocracy. What will happen to Enri who now has the biggest goblin army and stands atop as a Supreme Commander over the goblin army? What will be Nazarick's perspective of her? Will they welcome her as an ally or will try to eliminate her? And many more things left to be answered including the Yggdrasil player who came to this world before Ainz. Really excited for the future and your reactions.

TheeChaste

My only question, where the Jacket lol

Samy Zang

I recommend watching a youtube channel called Aninews. He points out so many things that the anime left out and it gives the show alot more depth. There is alot that everyone missed from what was shown. Love the reaction btw

Saekoa

Ima miss overlord mann :( was a fun ride

A few things the anime either skipped or heavily softened in Overlord’s final episode: The Philip/Albedo scene is way more brutal in the light novel. Albedo personally goes to the Montserrat domain to clean up loose ends, partly because Philip’s stupidity ruined Nazarick’s more subtle plan for the Kingdom. The whole estate/domain gets wiped out, Philip’s aides are killed, and Philip is kept unaware until Albedo shows him exactly what happened. The anime gives you the idea, but not the full “oh, she really butchered this entire place” version. Renner is also even worse than the anime makes obvious. The orphanage scene was not her secretly being kind. She poisoned the food she prepared for the orphans and workers so she could use the Fallen Seed and become a demon/imp. That “sweet princess feeding children” moment was actually one of the darkest things she did. The anime eludes to this but it's not blatantly obvious to put the pieces together. And the funniest part is that Ainz scares Renner because she thinks he is this terrifying mastermind making a power move by showing up personally, while Ainz is basically just doing roleplay and vibes. Meanwhile Ainz is also nervous around Renner because she is so smart and he worries she’ll realize he is not actually the 500 IQ overlord everyone thinks he is, since unlike the floor guardians, she isn't blindly loyal to him. Also, Renner’s dance was motion-captured, which explains why it looks weirdly better than almost anything else in Overlord. Disney princess energy, except in Overlord the princess poisons the room instead of saving it. lmao

so a big thing that people have pointed out, something anime only peeps will have missed since it was included is that when Princess Renner visited the Orphanage and gave them soup, even pushing for the nuns to eat as well, she was actually poisoning them all. The Seed of The Fallen requires the death of innocents in order to be used. There's a lot of stuff that is missing from the manga apparently

RobbyRob

Thank you for an amazing ride. I first watched this anime a year ago and binged it all within a day and night. Then going into the light novels to listen to everything that isn't said, but can still imagine and remember everything that happened as Chris Guerro read it. As I posted last week, to use that cube, which is an item to change your race permanently, you need to have a low enough morality. While sending her entire kingdom to ruin and killing her father in patricide, she also poisoned and killed that entire orphanage, allowing her to become a demon, starting at an Imp.

Oh there is enough material for at least a new season. Do not worry :D Also, while the 4th season was published 4 years ago, then they made that big ass movie that's almost like a condensed season with high quality so they are spared. The show is not in stalemate, Madhouse just takes quite a while to publish a new season. While first season began in 2015, and season 2 and 3 were aired on 2018 almost simultaneously, season 4 came out on 2022, then the movie. Rumors all over the internet say we could probably have an announcement at the 3rd quarter of this year and probably have a new season by the end of the year or the begining of 2027.

VortexCV

Volume 18 is going to be the last volume.

VortexCV

Hey i watch till the end!.. well most of the times. Anyways great reaction to the whole series.. there is not much material in LN just right now to make the final season.. so i think it might still be 2 3 years away :(

TrampledMage

Of all the times I've watched this series, I finally caught that the ladies outside the throne room said Climb was the last human in the castle. The king was dead and Renner had already taken the seed... Also, you guys rant a little, but most of the time I listen to the end. Y'all are awesome!

andre_999

This journey was epic, overlord is in my top 5 Anime thank you for your reactions on it you guys were really enjoyable and entertaining to watch 💕 ,in hopes of future content i will point out one last time that the channel AniNews did a bunch of overlord explained videos which will make you fall in love even deeper with the whole Franchise concidering all the Lore the Anime left out. Tc ^^

PsyrinCall

i was wondering that aswell.

Veranox

from what i understand the show is waiting on the last two volumes to release before another season comes and if im not mistaken the writer intends to release both close together and i have heard he said somewhere that 17 is nearly done so just gotta wait on 18

RSquirrel

Honoured to be apart of the 0.1% group

Rongo

October 8 2025 is the date of your first post of Bleach

JLFR

I hadn't noticed before, but after you brought up the lizard-man arc I realized there is a bit of a parallel there between the albino lizard priestess and princess Renner. With both, their lovers are killed in a demonstration of power, and they are then resurrected as a way to ensure their ongoing loyalty.

Josh

It's not over and I dont care how long it takes cause im not watching without you guys!

Josh

Love that guy he's my go to for all skipped content also he has fire merch lol

Woodstock179

You guys did so well. Here we are at the "beginning of the end" of Overlord. So much fleshed out detail gets cut from the anime but still it hits hard imo and you guys genuine reactions are so fun to see as you go through the "stages of an Overlord fan" from "wtf is going on" -> "oh ok so we are adventuring now?" -> "oh no are we the bad guys?" -> "ains has a plan "-> "wtf does this man even plan at all or is he making this up as it goes trying to keep his 'kids ' in line and happy?" 🤣👏👏😎

LuftmenschGamer

We started from the closet now we're here lmao. One of my favorite animes of all time and I had a great time rewatching it with y'all. Also as far as outros, I usually listen to them as I type, they have hidden gems sometimes. Looking forward to S5, excited to watch it together then!

Bryan Getz

Karli's reaction was worth the wait. I was floored climb woke up

Coldfang89

It's not the end of the series, rather the animation companies are waiting on the author to finish the entire story before adapting it as they believe there is currently not enough content to do a complete season. Releases on the light novels have been considered slow overall but it is coming to a conclusion and many questions are answered in them. The most up to date information shows that Ainz is the only player currently alive and that it is the Dragon's father's fault that Ainz and other players were summoned to this world in the first place. The suits are from the game and before players arrived humans could not use magic at all. The only magic that existed back then was wild magic, which only the dragons could use. And while there are no players, people do exist that are descendants of the players. These people are known as Godlings. The woman with black and white hair that played with the Rubik's cube in the Slane theocracy is a prime example of this. All current high-powered and world items are held by either Slane or the Dragon you saw.
