Mobius

The lowest-rated episode in the series.

Gary Morse

A lot of people did not care for this episode, but it brings out a lot of character development between Walt and Jesse. The money the producers saved by filming the majority of it in the lab, went towards the season finale.

Walt and flies and me with mosquitoes. I can't go to sleep if I know there is a mosquito buzzing around in my room. I have to hunt it down.

Oh there's for sure huge symbolism in this episode, but i am afraid i can't clearly formulate some of my thoughts here. This has got to be the best ''filler'' episode ever! I like this episode but people online seem to be quite divided, it's also the least rated episode of BB if I remember correctly and yet it has 8.0/10.. that's just crazy! Imagine lowest rated ep of a series rivaling best episodes of others... BB is just so chef 😘! Also very nice and entertaining reaction from both you guys! Its always a good day watching your reactions! I was also on edge of my seat when I first watched this ep. Without spoiling anything.. you guys are in for a wild ride for the rest of the series. I suspect karlii might need her meds especially for the 2nd half of last season 🤫!

I caught a lot of flies in my hands, specially as a kid. The trick is to wave your hand above the fly, not at the fly, then it starts flying off and straight into your hand.

Alright I believe I owe you guys some tea for this episode. A couple of years ago we had a fly problem at my lab. Now our lab has always had numerous passive pest prevention methods like traps at all the entrances and exits but for whatever reason a number of flies had gotten in the lab that summer. Of course none of us chemists made a big deal out of it like Walt did because for the vast majority of the process the product is in a closed system so there is no way the flies would be able to contaminate it and during the parts where the product is exposed we are always interacting with it and would be able to keep the flies away, worst case if a fly landed on it we could scrap that batch. Now in the discord a while back I posted a picture of one of the rooms we make product in, every time a new batch is started in one of those rooms we have to get a room clearance from quality assurance (QA). A part of the room clearance process involves a person from QA inspecting the room. One time when we were having this fly issue I was trying to get a room cleared but the QA person wouldn't issue a clearance for me because there were a couple of flies in the room. Now I knew this wouldn't be a problem for product quality but you can't argue with the QA people on something like this so I had to spend the next few hours trying to get rid of the flies which was quite difficult because there are many hiding spots in that lab. It was when I got home I realized I had essentially lived through the breaking bad fly episode. The funniest part however is how I went about removing the flies. What we did was I put on a wearable HEPA vacuum backpack and the QA person would try and scout out the flies location, he would than point at it when he found it and I would try and suck it up with the vacuum. The vacuum apparatus was a lot like the proton packs the ghost busters wore so there I was for a couple of hours fully gowned up in PPE trying to catch flies like a discount ghostbuster while the QA guy was often making my job harder by scaring them away when he pointed them out. It was a fun time, I'll post of a picture of the type of vacuum we used in the discord.
