A mini-update as I continue to work away on destruction simulation and fx stuff for shot 4 of Perfect Parking Spot. I've completed work on one more building of the main three, leaving only one left to complete (which I'll be posting another mini-update on once I'm done with it).

I'm pretty happy with how this one has turned out, though I'm probably going to keep revisiting the glass shaders for these buildings. Reflections is an area where EEVEE has some notable limitations so I'm still trying out various things as I go.

There were also some big trees in front of this building in my original scene-build, which I did do some animation for, but I felt they obscured the collapsing façade too much and have opted to remove them instead.

Currently I'm going back and forth on whether to add in some smaller trees to replace them (or some other street furniture instead). The only other bit of prominent street clutter involved with this chunk of the scene is a fire hydrant which gets knock down.

I'm planning on trying to add in the classic column of high-pressure water spraying from the ground effect for the two fire hydrants that burst in this shot, though I'll be saving that for once I'm ready for smoke simulation.

What's coming up next

I'll be focusing on doing the destruction fx for the last key building for this scene, along with it's surroundings and the rest of the missing street clutter that needs animating.

Once that's done I'll post another update covering it.

More broadly, I'd like to get this shot basically ready for rendering so that I can use it to test out the compositing setup I want to use for this project, so I'm going to stick with working on Perfect Parking Spot for a bit more before the switch-back to finishing up animating Sweaty Summertime Shrinking.
