2024 Merch Box Contents Revealed! (Patreon)

This afternoon, a package with the last piece of this year's merch boxes finally arrived, which means we can start assembling packages! In the meantime, we want to give you a closer look at what eligible patrons will be getting.

"Ask Me About the Battle of Loum" Button

Custom-designed and made for MSB by artist Sam Neukirch (links to their portfolio, social media, and online store here), the idea for this pin started as a joke on one of our episodes, but now it's really and ready to wear! Just be sure you're ready for people to ask you about the battle of Loum.

2. Chibi Victory Gundam Mobile Suit Stickers

We commissioned artist Bolt Creature (check out their Tumblr page, which includes a link to their online store). to create chibi drawings of some of our favorite Victory Gundam Mobile Suits so-far, and are delighted by the results! These stickers are small but mighty (mighty cute!). Every box will have one of each design.

3. Engraved "Stowaway" Fisher Space Pen

Fisher is famous for creating a pen that can write in zero-gravity and "has been used on all crewed space-flights since Apollo 7 in 1968," these pens are useful even for those of us held down by Earth's gravity - they write "at any angle (even upside down), underwater, over oil and grease, in -30° to + 250° F (-34° to +121° C), and three times longer than the average pen."

The "Stowaway" model is tiny - great for stashing in a pocket - and the name seemed thematically appropriate for Victory Gundam 😆

4. "Willowherb" Watercolor and Kana Calligraphy Poster

This poster combines watercolor art of willowherb/fireweed, and kana calligraphy, both by me - Nina Gonzalez (you can see more of my art here). The calligraphy is of a line from Victory Gundam episode 9 - Shakti worries that by leaving Kasarelia they will make it impossible for (his? her?) mother to find them. Uso tries to comfort her, saying 「柳蘭を咲かせておけば、どこにいたって　すぐに見つけてくれるさ」, or in English, "If you leave willowherb, she'll find us wherever we go" (screenshot of the scene below).

5. Candies!

Just because I think it's fun, every package will contain a few individually wrapped candies. Types and flavors will vary, but FYI for those unfamiliar - this first batch of boxes will contain saltwater taffy, which contains egg whites.

We hope you enjoy these various treats as much as we enjoyed sourcing/making them! Questions about merch box contents? Wondering which patron-tiers receive merch? Comment below or email us at hosts@gundampodcast.com.
