This week on MSB we're talking about Victory Episode 36. Tune in for tragedy! Comedy! Bullying! Robots! More Cronicle Asher discourse than you'd expect, and a gosh dang wonder of the natural world. Plus, should we cancel beavers?

The slideshow we used on this episode is here.

This is the best birthday gift: psychoanalysis of my favorite character. Thank you. 🤗 I know my wall of texts about Cronicle, his motives, lore from the novels, etc are super annoying but no one wants to actually talk about him (in English, at least). The majority of viewers dismiss him as crap when yes, he sucks, but he sucks in such a fascinating way. He is the crumpled napkin of Charclones: intended to be "the second coming of Char" (as stated in the series proposal) but only inheriting the OG Char's codependency and not much else, and therefore disposed of by the fandom. If one can empathize with him on any level, they may be less hung up on the terrible things he does (in spite of his own flimsy, naïve moral code!) and instead wonder "what made him this way?" And it's super frustrating that the staff on this show themselves can't agree on how to portray him, making him this confusing mess that doesn't appeal to most people. Also, the Contio's cockpit is in its back. This is the also one with the naughty pun name. 😂 Be on the lookout for its descendent much, much later... The Doggorla also very recently received a special derivative MA, but it's in a kinda dumb mobile game. It's still awesome albeit kinda ugly. Just as a Zanscare machine should be.🐉

We may do one at some point in the future, but had some heavy personal stuff to deal with and were not up to it this week 😓

I think I'm one of those people who always asks you to talk more about the cool robots, so thank you so much for talking about the cool robots! That was delightful! And, gasp, you guys are married?! I'm shocked, shocked!

Passive audience

Mecha that look kind of like Gwigsys that hop around and are about the same size is how the mecha is done in the series 86. I've heard it's really good and I watched a bit of it and enjoyed it but it's on the backburner while i go through Gundam.
