Grabbing tissues & my wine 🥹🥹🥹🥹😭😭😭😭😭

Laura J✨

Hiiiiiii ya’ll!!!!!

Whitley

Before I watch, how are you guys doing with your recent loss? I’m sure this must’ve been a difficult listen. My heart goes out to you guys as you grieve ❤️‍🩹

Miranda Adams

I don’t know if I’ll make it through this whole video but I love yall 💞

tavi 🦀

As a mom who has buried a kid, this is one I think deserves its own video, and a beautiful way to keep his memory alive for his mom

Melodie Noon

The whole song is basically quotes from the blog! You have to look up Ronan’s mom on tiktok! She shares a lot!

Alyssa

Can't let yall do this alone, im here. I follow his mom, Maya, on a few socials and she's AMAZING ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Karima Johnson

brave of you...makes me cry everytime. the video is worth a look. not for a reaction...he was a beautiful boy.

🫶Kellie👩🏻‍⚕️🤡

I lost my 8 year old nephew to the same type of tumor as Ronan. This song is so hard a listen for me. Eli has been gone 4 years this year and it still crushes me daily.

Apryl ❤️‍🔥

to be fair since I read about the story I never listened to this song.. but I listened with you guys today.. I am sobbing 😭😭😭 and i’m not even done yet

Lori W

I don’t know how singers can sing with such emotion and not break down when I am breaking down in the 2 first lines 🥺.

Dani

crying with you. rip ronan ❤️

Lejla Kamerić

I don’t blame you girl. I don’t ever in my life go to purposefully play this song. So beautiful tho but man..

Jemima Bond

It’s truly devastating 😭❤️♥️ rip ronan xx

Laura J✨

Awwww hugs and love to you guys

Jen ✨

This one hits different. My son’s bestie passed away in 2021 from DIPG. She was 7. 😭😭😭

girljordan

It’s a tough one but so so so beautiful!

Kimberly eckerson

I already knew what to expect and I bawled all over again 😭

Erica

Sobbing along with you. Every time I hear it. Taylor’s ability to capture emotions in song is unparalleled - even when it’s devastating.

Lively_Ash

I love you two & your vulnerability 💛 I only ever listen to this song when someone reacts to it & I cry every single time.

Jen

As a mother with little boys, this is truly my biggest fear and it hits hard and close to home. When one mother cries we all cry 🤍

Rebecca

Tears were flowing with the first line. It's a beautiful song but a hard one to get through 💔

Jessica

Yeah it is definitely a hard one to listen to Taylor herself I believe only performed it 3 times.

Whitley

The type of song you can only listen to when you need a good cry 💔

Ashlei

Crying right along with you guys. Sending love to you guys and everyone who can relate to this one. 🥺🫶🏼

Lori W

I also believe Taylor invited Ronan’s mom to the eras concert in May 2023 in Philadelphia. 🥹

Krystal

Lost my nephew in 2021 to acute myeloid leukemia- 2 months after his fifth birthday. Yesterday was the 5th anniversary of his diagnosis day. Now I’m watching my 8 year old cousin fight sacral chordoma - a cancer so rare in children doctors across the country have no idea what his next step in treatment will be. This song is so incredibly painful but so important to bring awareness to childhood cancer. Only 4% of the federal cancer research budget goes to childhood cancer research- that includes ALL types of pediatric cancer (this encompasses over 12 types and 100 subtypes). Many kids like my nephew are being treated with adult chemos that were invented in the 70s. We need more research funding, unfortunately childhood cancer isn’t as rare as many would like to believe

Kate Fitzgerald

I saw the post saying you were going to listen and went “oh no don’t do that”

mimi

❤️❤️❤️

Kenzielars

Love you guys for this. I’ll admit I had to fast forward to ya’lls reactions. Being a new mama, it’s just a song I can’t listen to. But it’s tragically beautiful. ❤️

Meredith

As soon as the opening note played, I started sobbing. It's a beautiful song but so hard to get through. Glad you finally got to hear it ❤️

Trishgal

Yeah, this is one I can't listen to. Hugs to everyone 💜

Katie

“I will never listen to this again in my life.” Amen K. Amen. So relatable. This one hurts despite the absolute profound beauty of it. Take time for your hearts. 💕

nikki

Hugs to you both

Stef from MI 🫶🐍

we love yall. if you didn't have that reaction there'd be something wrong. I've only listened to it a couple times and ball my eyes out every single time. 😭😭😭

Keri @thirdwishdesigns

I haven't heard this song in so long, to the point that I couldn't even remember what the melody was. After crying through this, I remember why I don't listen to it.

Christine

It's a beautiful song that is heartbreaking to have been written. And it's one that evokes so much emotion because it's just not fair.

Hannah Hansen

this is such a hauntingly beautiful song and i never listen to it. idk if y'all knew this, but all the lines from the song are direct quotes from maya's blog, so taylor is singing her own words about ronan. i will never not cry.

Emily N. Goff

Every single time I hear it I cry. Doesn’t matter how many times.

Mary Ramsower

We need to encourage everyone to stream it over and over on his birthday every year to help bring money to the research! It's tough to listen to, but there are kids who might be able to survive if they can find a cure.

Jalin Davis

I actually have this song in a playlist and so it plays for me every once in awhile! This song is heart breakingly beautiful but it isn’t a 100% skip for me. Most days i can handle this song.

Emily S

You guys should watch her performance of this for stand up 2 cancer… gutted 😭

Catherine Langer

I watched in solidarity, what an amazing tragic song. Love to y’all, Taylor and Mama Maya

Mandy Knowles

I’ve only watched and listened to this song once time as it hurts too much. I will watch this for you and with you 🫂😞

MrsK8Martin

As a long time swiftie I've purposely never listened to this until now. Thanks for sharing it with us in such a raw and honest way. ❤️

Leslie M

It's too sad. So beautiful, but too sad to listen to more then once.

Meghan

Makes me cry every time. Such a difficult song to listen to. It is my only skip for Taylor.

Helen

That’s the second time I’ve listened to this song the first time just so I could hear it this time to watch you guys. I don’t think I can ever listen to it again. I’ve never lost a child and I almost lost my 15 year old a couple times this song really broke me.

Yanin Romero

Watched to support you guys. But most times, this is a skip for me. I can't handle it. RIP Ronan 💙🦖🦕

Isabela Krall

What a special thing for Taylor to do for Maya. To memorialize Ronan forever. This is a really hard listen.

Andra

The video guts me. Sweet little man. 🥹

Andrea Jones

I was not prepared for y'all to have his picture on the screen :((((

Julie

My 2nd time hearing it. The 1st time tore me inside out. Didn't talk for an entire day. Just had to proceed it all.

Jensine (jen-sen)

This isn’t my first time listening to this but I cry EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Sammi

Taylor also set it up so that all the proceeds from the original release of "Ronan" were donated to cancer charities.

Caitlin Florida

I have to skip this and Soon You’ll Get Better. Every. Time.

Amy Versprille

This and soon you’ll get better are 2 beautiful songs but are just too sad to listen to

Kaya

Bawling. I don’t think this song is even on my playlist for this reason. Especially since becoming a mama 💔

✨Annie✨

Yeah, it’s a beautiful and rough listen. That reaction is a universal experience for Swifties. Grateful for Mama Maya for sharing Ronan’s story with us. 🫶🏻

Chelsey

I’ve only listened to it a few times, it is so gut wrenching. Cry every time.

✨Jen✨

I saw the lyric video to this song and bawled my eyes out. With two little ones I couldnt listen to it again until now …

MVW

This song will always remind me how very precious life is. As heartbreaking as it is, it will always be one of my favorites.

Paige Cook

I’m an oncology nurse and work with all ages. I DREAD the pediatric cases and have to listen to this song and cry after losing any of my pediatric patients 😭

Jessica Martin

Same, K, never again. That doesn’t mean that the song isn’t beautiful and an amazing tribute, but I have to protect myself. Taylor is genius storyteller and this song makes me picture it too well. It is an amazing tribute and I’m so happy that the song exists, nut I didn’t actually watch your reaction bc that would mean I listened to Ronan, and I just cannot do it. I love y’all. I hope you’re not too traumatized

Jennyjoy

I scrolled through comments comments and didn't see anyone mention this, she's only performed it twice. Once at the charity event and once on tour when Maya was in the audience

Patricia

Love you guys, thank you for sharing your reaction so vulnerably with us. Taylor gave a beautiful tribute so resonant with the reality of grief, experiencing this song is a canon Swiftie event. That said, take good care of yourselves. ❤️‍🩹

Stacy S.

I follow his Mama (Maya Thompson) on Instagram and TikTok. She is one strong and admirable woman! Maya is writing a book about Ronan and grief. Not sure when it comes out.

Sara

Love you guys. 💙

Lua

Not me crying again with Ronan 🥺 this is so beautiful and sad.

L Taylor

there’s a few songs that are just too sad to listen to, but they’re still beautiful tributes.

Michelle

I can't really relisten to this one. So beautiful.

Paige

I did this for yall lol. I’m sitting here choking on my tears, regrettably. Like you K, I said I would never listen to it again but I did tonight. A beautiful song and tribute to Ronan and his family, but as a mother of 2 little boys and a sweet baby girl, I just can’t handle it. 💔

Amy Versprille

It is beautiful what Taylor did here - I just can’t listen. As swifties - we have all listened to this song and cried and thought how beautiful it was for this to be written but I do not think many revisit it because it just breaks you open.

C.C.

Every stream is a donation though, so most of us will let it play on mute or volume down so we can honor the purpose of it.

Maddie Beeles

Listening to this as a mom of an almost 3 year old really got me heavy in my emotions. Such a sweet thing Taylor did to honor him

Chelstom

One of my few Taylor skips, I can’t handle it ( along with soon you’ll get better) ❤️‍🩹

Ari

I let it play but I don’t always listen as it makes me cry every time, I mute it so the song can continue to bring money to cancer research, that being said it’s incredible how strong Tay is to be able to sing so well while holding back tears.

manda

I cried with y'all through the whole video and I also never listen to Ronan because it's just absolutely brutal

Victoria Eubanks

My best friend lost her 2 year old son to a drowning last year…. This song hits really hard. I sobbed all the way through… love yall🤍 rip Ronan and Kai✝️

Stacey

It's the only song in her discography I do not have in my Taylor playlist. I just can't.

“Stars, do u like dem?” Becky? 👀 🦗 🐳

It’s such a beautiful song - it’s in my favourites and it’s only come on randomly 3-4 times ever and every single time I burst out into tears - the sidewalk, before bed, running an errand. I usually skip it immediately but sometimes I force myself to listen and I never don’t cry. Cried again just now. Everything about this song is so beautiful and a visceral reminder of what a powerful songwriter she is.

Jessica Young-Eleazar

I've only listened to this song a total of 3 times because it's so heartbreaking to listen to.

Lizel

I don't have my own kids. I have nieces and goddaughters though and I've lost people to cancer. This song is just heartbreaking for me.

Lindsey Rinehart

This one and Soon You’ll Get Better, I just can’t make it through. 💔

Nicki

I cry every time I hear this song. She has only sung this song live twice. One was for a cancer benefit and the other was during her 1989 tour in Glendale Arizona when Maya was there. I was there and the entire crowd was sobbing!

Shyla

I had the same reaction when I first listened. I cried for a good hour after. Such a touching tribute for the mother who mourned her son.

T

So beautiful & so sad. I don’t ever choose to play this but if it happens to come on, guaranteed tears.

Ashley Elizabeth

As soon as you hear the 1st key I instantly just start bawling. I needed a good cry and this song always freaking kills me. 💔 I follow Mama Mya on TikTok and she does such a good job keeping sweet Ronan's memory alive. I cannot listen to this song. It's a skip every single time only because it stabs me in the damn heart.

Deborah Cardwell

It’s a hard one makes me hug my little guy hard, if it makes you feel the tiniest bit better about this react your stream sent a little to cancer research ❤️❤️

AmyBrandNew13⸆⸉

I do not EVER listen to this song 💔💔 RIP Ronan 💛 RIP Josiah 🎗️💛😭

Katelin Howell

This song had me sobbing the first time I heard it. It still hurts my heart and makes me cry every time I hear it

Becca D❤️

This is such a beautiful song, but it's devastatingly sad. It's a rare skip for me in Taylor's discography.

Madison Bowers

I listened to this once when Red TV came out and have not listened to it since this video, the tears were flowing before y’all even started the song. This & bigger than the whole sky are not even allowed on my Apple Music library

🍁Tiffany🍁

When it comes on just mute it and let it play. The money from its streams goes to Ronan’s foundation. That’s what I have to do cos I bawl every time ❤️

Jill

It’s a beautiful song but a hard listen. Bless that sweet baby boy 🩵

Amber

The emotional damage. Whew Taylor, I don't think anyone else could have written it quite like you. And that pause for a breath near the end. RIP Ronan. 🕊️

Monique Rodgers

I can’t listen to this song. I shatters me. I cried watching this video. Oh man. RIP Ronan🥺💗

Bridget Shelton

Saying you won’t listen to this song again is so real. I don’t have children (but I nannied for a long time) and it still guts me. I hope it still brings comfort to Ronin’s mom that his short short life and legacy lives on because of Taylor 💜

Kristen Batye

This was the first time I've heard ths song in years and it crushed me being a mom to a 2 year old now. I couldn't even imagine that kind of loss. Rest in Peace Ronan.

Abs

I’ve only listened to it twice, including your video. 🥹

Shannon Staton

I’ve only listened to it once before but decided to watch this. I think that’s all I can take. 🥺

Michelle A

Very hard to listen to. I have not lost a child but I have friends who lost their four year old to cancer. Very similar situation. The way she was able to convey those emotions, especially without having children herself, is astonishing. What a beautiful gift.

Emily Vasquez

I havnt heard it in a while and im watching this while being next to my 4 year old and reminding myself not to take him waking me up at 4am for granted and to enjoy every moment with him and my 8 year old. It also reminds me of my brother he passed away at 19. I did have this song on repeat at a low volume so it would get streams. It’s so beautifully written and so heart wrenching.

Katelyn Wollner

The only song I ever skip when I listen to Taylor.

carly straight

This will be the third time I hear this song. As someone who has listened to Taylor daily for years. ❤️‍🩹

carly straight

“Flowers pile up in the worst way” is the most devastating line I’ve ever heard.

Annie Lapierre

Whenever Ronan comes up, I turn down the volume and let it play because all the proceeds go to Children's cancer....but yeah I've listen to Taylor every single day since red and this is my 4th listen and now I can't stop crying 💔

Alishia Bright

Beautiful song but not listening to it again. I'm crying

Lindsey Kerr

This and soon you'll get better are two songs I just can't listen to

Melissa

Honestly I muted the song and just watched your reaction after it played. I listened to the song once and never will again. Beautiful song but no

Kristen Batye

I dont know if you guys knew but this month is childhood cancer awareness month 🎗

Shelby

Ronan, Forever Winter, and Soon You’ll Get Better are songs I can’t listen to.

B.staviiii

K going thru it she’s like get me off this damn camera 😭💓

Stabigail

I literally never listened to this and I am bawling at lunch at work.

Livia fg

I'm a nurse and worked with young kids who passed away from cancer. This song reminds me of them, it's really beautiful and sad ♥

Livia fg

This song actually inspired me to become a nurse and work with pediatric oncology when I was 13, and that's what I do today ♥

Dana Ries

Sometimes I let it play so that it gets streams and momma maya can get a little extra in royalties. But walk away from it.

Dana Ries

Thank god you didn’t do the lyric video.

mayae

Really wish u had done the lyric video. It’s such a tribute to his life and his family 💙

Ashley Evans

Isn't there a live performance Taylor does when Maya is at a concert? Am I remembering that wrong? It's really beautiful.

Kait

I actually haven't listened to this song and just hearing the intro and seeing the lyrics brought me to tears imagining my own son. Seems I still can't listen to it so I'll be skipping by this one but Bless Taylor for helping this mother in whatever way she could during her grief, I cannot imagine the heartbreak 💔

Krista 🤓🫀🧠

My boy with big blue eyes is 4 right now, and was 1 the first time I heard this. The bridge eviscerated me and I can’t even think about this song without getting hysterical. I will never forget a week after he was born, watching a show in which a 16 year old boy died tragically, and having that first REAL realization that my child could die and that I’d never survive it. It’s by far the worst thing, I think, a human can experience.

Hridayinee

Uuugh I'm finally making the crying time to watch this now....brb

Hridayinee

Ok i made it all the way through this song for maybe the first time. But I'm with you Kaniyia, I will Never go back and listen to this song again. I cried right along with you both. A devastating and sweet song. Bless Taylor for writing this. 🙏🫶

Honeybeb33

I cry everytime. 🥺

Kelsey Michele

I cried again even tho I’ve heard this song multiple times. Thank you for giving the song Ronan a spotlight even thought it was difficult 💙

Char

Me bawling at work .. every time I hear it… it gets sadder

Melea Evans

This is only the second time listening to this song, because I said I would never listen to it again either. And I haven’t. It’s a skip every single time. 💔

Amanda Worrell

Ugh f*ck man! That messed me up! I cant listen to that song ever again. Its too hard. I think its a great and beautiful song and if you ever feel like just crying and letting it all out! This is the song to listen too. 100%

✨Annie✨

Messed me up again watching this. Powerful song. So damn sad. RIP Ronan. Love to Mama Maya.

Monica

Omg, when I saw the title, I went and got tissues.😭🥹🫂

LadyK_USAdame

This only the second or third time I’ve dared to listen. I agree 100 it is too much but beautiful. Tay has two others that fall in this category for me. Never grow up and Soon you’ll get better. Epiphany almost landed there but I usually listen to her albums as a whole body of work and since it is near the end I have prepped myself for it. But other three nope great songs beautiful can’t do it. 💔💕💗love u guys RIP Ronan and all my love to Maya.

JackandtheBookStack

This has to be so difficult to do, but thank you for doing it. Thank you for giving this song, with its devastating but important message, some time. Your emotions are so beautiful. Thank you.

Alexis Case

I usually try to listen to it every time it comes up so Maya gets the streaming proceeds but I cry every single time I hear it. This time was no different, but thank you for sharing such a raw and beautiful moment with us. We love you guys

just pam

Damn crying too f- damn

Ericka Iverson

omg i am going to be so gddm happy when i see cancer f-ing get just blasted destroyed that MF whatever it is, wherever it comes from, i cant wait until Jesus comes back and burns that sheeet to absolute hell. little kids, man! little kids having to endure something like that. its just not okay. mamas having to endure that... yikes. im a mama of 5 and a little baby who i missed carrying. this is my nightmare you know? and then i lost my sister in 2022 to fing cancer just before she turned 37, and just before my 5th little one was born, named after her (something we'd planned from the beginning of the pregnancy).... and it just - it has been used for SO MUCH GOOD. it might have been what saved my sisters boyfriend and their girls daddy.. he changed so much for the better. and she said over and over if just one persons life was changed, and they found Jesus like she had, and followed Him because of her story, it would be enough... but the change for her own girls daddy was something she couldnt have dreamed up and God is so good. He doesnt want this, He didnt make it happen, but when we see pure evil in this world, it makes our very DNA crave and long for the paradise we were intended for from the beginning, and if we can only comfort each other with the comfort we've been given... and bring each other hand in hand to Jesus OMG i just cant wait until we all get to spend eternity living in a place where fing cancer and all that doesnt even exist.

Heather P.

i was happier before i knew the meaning behind this song 😣 how moving!!

Evelyn Shannon

There’s a video of her performing this live for a cancer charity. She later spoke about just getting through the song and then completely breaking down backstage. So even Taylor is not immune to this song.

Lady Bryght

Red TV came out the day I had to put my cat down. I sobbed so hard to this song on the way home, I couldn't see to drive.

Rachel Griffin

I always mute this when it comes on so the streaming proceeds are earned, but I can’t listen to it. Haven’t in years. Couldn’t even finish the video. No mmmf.

Downdowndown_we_go

Thank you for doing this one, even though it hurt, it's such an important song in her collection.

Jenna Atkinson

This song always makes me bawl. something about the chorus is soul crushing. It’s not right that anyone gets cancer let alone kids😭💔

Fiftyyoswiftie

I may be wrong, but I don’t think Taylor has performed this one live except for the Cancer Fundraiser, but I do know she credits the mom as her writing partner so her mom always gets revenue every time it is played. So of how Taylor credits her ex on a couple of songs and he gets revenue. I prefer Ronan’s Foundation. I also think the mom always has tickets to her tours. Always. Taylor love is for real and for life! And I am a Swiftie in my 50’s Late to the Party! 🫶🫶🫶🫶

Morgan Arguello

I have never made it all the way through this song, and this was no exception. I heard this song for the first time in 2021 while driving my then 4-year-old son to the store. My son's name is Ronan. This is purely a coincidence, but to hear my boy's name and then the lyrics "You were my best 4 years" just ripped me to shreds. Every time the song is mentioned, I think of Ronan's mother, Maya, and send her strength from another Ronan mom. Now, years later, through another crazy coincidence, I work with someone who knows Maya personally. I hope the connection helps my energy reach her more potently.

Jennie Coon

This song is so amazing - I was in one of only 2 audiences who saw this live - at her concert in Phoenix (MamaMya was there) (the other place she stung it live was at StandUp to Cancer)

Jennie Coon

I’m sad you won’t listen again - it is such a beautiful tribute (and the best song ever if you need a solid cathartic cry)

Pickle

Lost my daughter in 1991 of a brain tumor at age 2. This song is so emotional for me, too. But, the miracle of getting any time with her was worth it! Rip to my Kelsea, and to all the little warriors out there!
