With 'Ruin The Friendship' I think Taylor may (possibly) be thinking that with that act of emotional expression of kissing him, perhaps she could have in some serendipitous way changed the course of Jeff's life story, and ultimately his existence. I believe that this is how deeply she cares for people and reflecting on it in this way not only would have freed her mind from wondering about him when she was younger, but in the bigger picture, she may have affected his life's trajectory.
