It wasn't explicitly told in the anime but Rudy was in that room for over a week, he wasn't eating at all and was pretty close to starvation. He would've died if Roxy hadn't interfered, mostly because he wasn't only suffering from his dad's death, but was in constant thoughts about his past parents and how fruitless his combined life from the past and present has felt to him. The anime skipped it but Rudy did tell Roxy what happened in his past life, through the lens of storytelling. Her response saved him, she simply told him to cherish the family he had in front of him now. This scene is like the equivalent of Subaru telling Echidna he was able to return by death. That's what helped him get out of the deep slump he was in. Anime left it out but Elinalise told Rudy Roxy was pregnant to get him to marry Roxy. Also, Norn's reaction was a lot stronger than everyone else's is because her being a more devout follower of Millis (Also why Zenith's reaction was so rough in the beginning because she is also a follower). This show makes me hella uncomfortable with its topics but that's why I particularly enjoy it. The show feels like it doesn't exist for my personal beliefs and thoughts but adds a level of introspection of life through the lens of someone who has been at literal rock bottom and that you can find meaning in life through it's ups and downs.

Norn wasn't just a more devout follower of Millis, she is the only follower of Millis in the entire house, so non of them have any religious obligations to monogamy. Leaving the cheating aside the matter of whether to live monogamous or polygamous is simply a matter of choice and practicability to everyone else.

Thanks guys for all of the detailed information. This series was so good we really cannot wait for the next season. These last episodes was so deep. It made us feel so many different emotions and we love that when a series can make us feel these different feelings. The story telling was excellent.
