This hair scene is simply one of the most badass scenes in C-dramas. It's so significant; in that era, hair was a tradition, a symbol of respect and honor for a woman, and the way he takes care of her hair in this drama is simply perfect. I'm really loving this drama so much; the story is different, and I like it a lot.

To anyone saying Ding Yuxi can't act, I really don't think they've seen his full range. His issue might be more about the roles, stories, and often production team he gets to work with, but otherwise, his talent is what carries most of his shows. If you ever watch Archives: The Nanyang Mystery, you'll see how well he can play a complex role. I still think that was the best performance of his I've seen. And about Zhao Ling — his posture made his back ache a lot, because he had to be a little slouched all the time. He often does so many things that hurt his body, but I think I have said this already. Sorry. 😅 I can get a little defensive of him sometimes.

I agree, that scene was so good. What she said and what he did might as well be translated as a love confession, in my opinion. I absolutely love this drama. It's wholesome and healing in some ways, yet still it doesn't lack all the usual drama aspects — schemes, villains, near-death calls, and other stuff.

Yes, I really needed to see a plot like this. It's been a long time since I watched a drama about starting over from scratch in poverty and fighting to begin again, and the slow-paced romance is well-developed.

Danm Tingyun just confessed i hope we are still not clueless about if we are in love or not in the next episodes and the lack of accountability for these characters are insane. Why are they blaming Tingyun for things they started?😒 I get her grandma was the cause for madam Zuo resentment but Tingyun almost got killed by her too.
