In this video, we react to Season 4 PREMIERE of Skam (Cast of Norway) - "Du hater å henge med oss" / "You hate hanging out with us".

We have made it to the final season of SKAM Norway! 🥲💛 This season, we focus on our queen Sana Bakkoush, as she navigates balancing her faith, friendships, and budding romance with her brother's non-Muslim friend, Yousef, tackling themes of religious identity, cyberbullying, and in classic Skam fashion, all the high school drama one could ask for.

Watch as our group of Norwegian teens tackle identity, queerness, substances, mental illness, religion, bullying, friendship, romance and the like, all while navigating their high school experience.

YESSSS!!!!! okay long comment incoming as an ex-muslim who feels very attached to sana and relates to the themes in this season a lot, so be warned! the ending of this episode always gets me, sana watching her best friend sitting next to and speaking to the guy sana has a crush on (while she was busy praying, mind you). it’s such a specific feeling of jealousy/insecurity that i know so many people of colour/religious people can relate to – feeling silly for even thinking that your feelings for someone would be reciprocated when they have the option of just choosing someone else who is white/not religious over you. hence the bubble bursting – her shared glances with yousef and their unsaid flirting means nothing in comparison to a pretty white girl actually talking to him and not having her religious beliefs preventing her from pursuing him. and yes, the notifications on her phone are reminders to pray and no, jamila isn’t her sister (not a spoiler, just want to make sure you guys aren’t confused going forward!) 😭 also you guys begging for the love interest not to be yousef SENT ME the lil huddy hair is a problem for sure but he’s still cute….. okay that’s everything i swear and if you can’t tell i’m super excited for this season!!! ❤️

Omg yay the way I’ve been waiting for this! Since I discovered skam winter 2016/2017, this was the only season I watched live (and then I watched every remake as it came out afterwards 🙈), so it holds such a special place in my heart. I love how you’re already picking up on things - even in this first season, sana’s POV feels again completely different to any of the other three. That really is Skam’s superpower, I think, the way there’s a totally different vibe and we’re picking up on different aspects of situations depending on whose eyes we’re watching through. (Just to clarify so you’re not confused: Elias is Sana’s brother, but Jamilla is not Sana’s sister)

Yay! The hiatus from Skam has been painful, but now we get to enjoy it for the rest of 2025, instead of it probably being over. And, anyway, we did get to see your reviews of 👀Heated Rivalry😱 in the meantime. The boys in the gym: just in case anyone thought Skam would only have boys gawking at girls like objects (the boy squad leering at the dancing girls in s03). And, ahem, Yousef is a cutie. I love Isak’s & Even’s moving strategy of having other folks do all the carrying while they snog. And what? No comment from Bradley on how/where Isak was sitting relative to Even??? I thought we’d get at least a “Yes, Isak, we know.”😉

i'm really looking forward to this one! as a woman of colour i could relate to sana's season the most, there were some scenes that really spoke to me and even the ones that i couldn't personally relate to, still really made me feel for her and other girls and women who live under similar circumstances!

Really love your Skam reactions and glad you're back with S4. The only thing I didn't enjoy were your comments about you hoping that Yousef is not the "love interest", not based on the way he acts but the way he looks like. I know it's a series but I don't think the appearance of an actor should be judged like that. Apart from that, looks isn't everything. Hope you understand that I don't want to criticize your way of reacting. You should def stay that real and unfiltered, maybe I'm a bit sensitive when it comes to comments like this :)

I think we just have our little guards up when it comes to men in our girls’ lives. We got the ick like crazy every time william was on screen. If you remember we were NOT fans 😭 we just want the best for them and I get nervous! ur right tho, commenting on someone’s appearance maybe wasn’t the best but we were just fleshin out our thoughts. So excited for you to start season 4!! This season uses a lot of really great Norwegian music, particularly rap and hiphop, and sometimes the songs and the lyrics are really meaningful in the scene (like with the song playing the in the background when Noora texted William she wanted to have sex back in season 2). I'm not sure if the translators have added any lyrics to the subtitles, but if not I'm sure someone will inform you of important context in the comments!

ofc! in season one when chris brings sana to join the russ group and vilde meets sana for the first time, vilde questions if sana can even join because she's muslim. she then tries to kick sana out of the group after sana threw water in ingrid's face and says that may fly in her 'muslim gangster world' but not for them. in season two when noora is talking about the syrian refugee crisis, vilde says sana would know more about the refugee crisis than noora would. when sana asks why since she was born in norway, vilde says she comes from a different culture, the 'muslim culture' and sana explains islam is a religion. in this episode vilde says sana can't have sex, assuming it is something her religion enforces on her rather than something she chooses to follow given her own autonomy.
