Why the long face, my pretty baby? 🔥👅

We're so back with this new installment of the adopted Vampire Chronicles! 'The Vampire Lestat' is here to melt our faces off with 7 episodes of rock n' roll, sex, drugs and most importantly... our husband is back on our screen. Front and center stage. 🤘🏻

Following the events of the previously reacted to 'Interview with the Vampire' (2022), 'The Vampire Lestat' takes place in 2025 after the interview between Louis De Pointe Du Lac and newfound vampire Daniel Malloy is published and flies off the shelves. Now with vampires exposed (whether they're believed or not), Lestat's rock n' roll world tour is being followed by a documentary crew, and we will witness the greatness that is, the Vampire Lestat.

Boas, leather pants, blood, nudity, music, fights and NEXT-LEVEL DRAMA to be expected. Plus our husbands will finally be reunited. And we're here for it all. 🎸

Stay tuned for the next episode ‼️

The parallels between Claudia’s SA and Lestat’s SA have been there since season one. I’ll admit I hated that they added it to Claudia’s story because it wasn’t in the books where as it was always part of Lestat’s. But I really need Louis to clock how selfish it was to read Claudia’s diary to Bruce. He did the same thing with Lestat’s story about Magnus when he told Daniel. It was not his trauma to share.

Bradley’s face when he first saw Magnus had me laughing so hard 😭😭😭

Yes, it was supposed to show both of their SA stories and how similiar Lestat and Claudia really are. It has been hinted at a couple of times already that they were very similar in many ways which makes their relationship even more tragic. The Magnus and Bruce parallels and how they both kept their victims for a week to be repeatedly SA'd is very upsetting and also explains why Lestat wanted Louis to consent to his turning because that was not given to him. Also the Nicki situation explains so much about the turning of Claudia because if you remember from season 2 they showed her full turning and how Louis basically manipulated Lestat and now we see how Nicki did the same by using his love against him. (Edit: Louis isn't missing his leg yet that scene at the beginning of episode one is from the future after all of these events take place so we don't actually know how that happened yet or how Armand ends up missing an eye.)

Macie

Sam Reid actually said that Louis telling Daniel about Magnus is one of the main things Lesat is upset about from the book being published so I hope we get to see more of that

Can't wait for your ep4 reaction, so far that has been one of my favourite episodes but also one of the worst ones bc of well you'll see😭😂 It's a lot

Did you guys catch that the scene with Lestat/Armand/Gabriella in the box while Nicki's playing is a scene we've seen before (VERY different perspective)? It's the same exact scene as the one in 2x03, only in Armand's telling, a) Gabriella is left out, b) Lestat says "Je t'aime aussi" in response to Armand's declaration of love rather than "Christ, there's not enough room in this box for your desperation", c) they went at it on the floor of the box during the production, and d) Armand minimizes Nicki's involvement in the scene and Lestat's reaction to it. Interesting to watch and see who's leaving out key information where! Also, TRIGGER WARNING FOR THIS SECTION, it's hard to tell on a first watch (I may have rewatched this episode more times than is strictly healthy at this point) because the scenes with Louis and Bruce in the Detroit coven house and Lestat and Magnus in the car/his memories are purposely interwoven and jumbled together--I dunno if you guys ever go back and rewatch elements of shows that you react to afterwards, but I might recommend it there since the audio is so mixed and jumbled together that it's easier to parse on a second watch. Anyway, the point I'm getting at is that Lestat's SA by Magnus is more than just metaphorical in the vampiric assault sense, more than just in the comparison to Claudia's rape by Bruce: it's really quick, but there's a frame in which you can tell that his pants are bunched down by his knees instead of fully upright and covering. Poor Lestat has so much unprocessed trauma.

sirius

The version of events that Lestat tells Daniel here is the romantized version bc Lestat doesn't want to admit he has trauma, he doesn't want to see himself as a victim :'D

Lauren

The Magnus music video was so off putting the first time you see it, but of course that makes perfect sense to present that weird pop song instead of the actual horror of being taken and violated by Magnus. Never forget that when Lestat turned Louis in the church in the pilot, he asked him permission, and told him he loved him😭

Antsy_Drew

Y'all should do a video reacting to interviews with Sam and Jacob like you did with Hudson and Connor. Especially the Buzzfeed thirst tweets one. They have such a sweet friendship.

wren

knowing that Bruce calls himself “Killer” because it’s what Claudia had called him when they met makes me so ill

Miki

Daniel didnt choose to be a vampire. "Im sorry HE (Armand) burdened you out of spite" Louis telepathically to Daniel at the end of Season 2.
