#1 hater, year two of the hater campaign continues. Haha, look at that fat nerd.... Knowing the proper conjugations of octopussies. Will he turn blue during this reaction? And oddly Curtis reminds me of the fat kid in this movie. Guess this makes me the Candyman?

This is one of my favorite reactions I’ve seen to this movie. Also, I’ve never considered the take on scalping stuff in relation to this and it blew my mind way open. I get caught up so much with the kids plots and didn’t consider the rest of it!

I am surprised you guys haven't seen this, it is such a classic. I love that the first half is more realistic and the second half feels like you stepped into another world. Gene Wilder is phenomenal in this, when I think of Gene I think of Willy Wonka. His quippy remarks, dry humor is just so good and really funny. I also think all the kids did such a good job, they played their parts perfectly. And I always felt like all the kids, aside from Charlie represented a deadly sin. There was Greed, Pride, Sloth and Gluttony. And the big lesson too from them and you have to blame quite a bit for is their parents. I noticed the trait they all actually shared was how they treated their parents, all of them were constantly telling their parent to shut up or being disrespectful to them and they just let them do it, so it's hard to blame them completely. The songs are also a lot of fun and very catchy. When I was a kid I hated the Cheer Up Charlie song but now that I've gotten older I appreciate it a lot more. And don't worry, the book is titled Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, so you weren't wrong necessarily and there is Charlie and The Chocolate Factory movie, your most likely going to get requests for it but I don't care for it at all, for me it's pretty bad. So, a great fact, it was Gene's idea for Wonka to limp out and then somersault, because for the rest of the film you don't know if you should trust him or not, it kept him a mystery. And he also improvised his outburst to Charlie at the end, Peter Ostrum had no idea he was going to shout like that, so his reaction was genuine.
