This is one of my favorite zombie movies, it is so much fun and there is quite a bit of humor. It has probably one of the best opening sequences to a horror film, that could have been a mini movie on it's own. The make-up on the zombies is great as well and I love that they are fast. Nothing scary about a slow zombie, lol. I also really love the characters, whether you like or hate them. CJ is my favorite character, I love his character arc. He really goes from being a unlikable, selfish douche to literally sacrificing himself. I love when he gave Tucker the guns and was just dragging him and like you mentioned, for him once you gain his trust, he has your back completely and it was very difficult to disagree with him. He was right. They actually focus on CJ a lot more in the extended version. This film also had a great cast, Ving Rhymes always delivers, he was awesome too. I always really liked Michael as well, he seemed the most like the every man. Someone that probably had never before shot a gun. And in the end, he did get bitten to save Anna from being bitten, which was needed since she's a nurse and had the boat key.

Crazy fact: Matt Frewer, who played the sick guy (Frank), was a super famous pop culture character in the 80,s by the name of Max Headroom. He was AI and was household name popular....Popular enough to inspire one of Eminem's biggest hits "Rap God" in which Eminem mimics Max Headroom in the music video.

Believe it or not there is a point to that explosion at the gas station at the beginning. It's a nod to the original Night of the Living Dead. Ben describes that exact accident just the way it happens in this movie.

Aw damn, I was looking forward to watching this with you but I have the unrated version.
