About the v28 crashing issue… (Patreon)

Hi everyone,

First, I want to apologize for the issues with the latest update. I've received numerous crash reports for V28, which clearly indicates problems with the game.

However, I tested the game on two of my laptops and my development PC, and none of them reproduced the issue. My guess is that I might have modified the settings during testing and included them in the zipped save files. If you’re having the crash issue please try setting up the game according to the screenshots attached to this post and let me know if it still crashes?

Additionally, it would be incredibly helpful if someone experiencing the crash could DM me your discord. This way, I can troubleshoot the issue directly on a computer where the problem occurs.

So far the game either works for about 15mins and then just freezes up or just flat out dies after less than 3mins of run time, I have also noticed the game will very much stop working once you grow over 100 meters during destruction on larger scales, did a test and tried to just grow to 600 meters, that instantly crashed the game, I even tried being smaller and that didn't exactly help either, I have adjusted the settings to work on the lowest and highest, with literally 0 difference in outcome, I do not know whats happened but the recent versions that have been put out are very very unstable at the moment, which is sad because it would be pretty fun to play if it was working as intended, the destruction timed event game is really fun, but the item drops are very hard to spot most of the time save for the health... maybe try making them less transparent and more opaque maybe?

Yea… I just rent 2 more PC for testing… cuz it’s a bit hard for me to debug the issue without reproducing it 🤦🤦🤦

To further add on what can be improved, the throw mechanic is very awkward to get to work, since you have to mess with the camera alot in order to actually get the girl to throw the held item forward since it seems the aimer is pointed backwards by default??, perhaps making it so that when you select to throw an item you get a different camera angle that allows one to aim the object better like a higher over the shoulder view perhaps?, the girls still get caught in buildings when you try walk into them even at larger sizes, they sorta end up brushing up along side them mostly rather than slowly pushing their way through them...

Hi, first time commenting here. First off I wanted to say thanks for all the work you've put into this. Very excited to see how it continues to develop. In regards to stability, my issue has been basically identical to DrBard's. To be super clear, most of the time this happens to me, the game does not ever enter a crash state, it simply freezes and needs to be closed by task manager. No crash report pulls up afterword. Notably when the freeze occurs, none of my PCs resources are close to maxed out. The one constant I've found is that it only occurs when a lot of destruction happens all at once. If you destroy things slowly, everything goes fine. Also worth noting that performance remains pretty solid up until the moment of the freeze, rather than gradually deteriorating. It seems to me that the issue is the number of debris objects in motion at any given time. I'll try digging deeper into this when I have more time. Hope this helps and thanks again!

Hi, I'm having all the same issues with the game not loading and constantly crashing. However, found out that the one crash where the game just freezes up without any error message is NOT happening randomly (at least not for me). It always occurs when walking close to the coastline, there seems to be an exact border that will freeze the game once crossed. If I stay in the center of the city, this crash never happens. The game still crashes occasionally when destroying buildings, sending a "Fatal error!" message, but this already happened in V27. Must have a different cause. Hope this helps other players to get more playtime out of the game. Try to stay away from the coast. It worked miracles for me.
